Very disappointed. Used to be a favorite place of mine till tonight. Received sucky service and even brought in new possible customer… Not anymore. Server wasn’t attentive I spent more time at the bar with his colleagues then checking in on us. Ordered a salad with food on the side and certain ingredients on the side ended up in my salad. But the biggest thing which really isn’t that big of a deal was if they charge me for my hot water. I have been here many times over the years and have never been charged for water hot water. I didn’t even get tea from them. And when I brought it up to him he said ‘it’s in the menu didn’t you see it” I responded no. And he argued about it. Said he was nice didn’t charge me for the soda. When i told him i was never charged before he told me he didn’t know anything about it. End result is that I’m not coming back due to his bad attitude So when I paid him and said I want coming back again, he shrugged his shoulders and was like… Ok. This is one time I didn’t leave a good tip. Disappointed!!!

Love this place. I come here often since I work nearby and everyone is so friendly. Kassie and Vin are the best bartenders and love seeing them.

Stopped in with a friend last night after the movies. She was craving a simple baked potato with various toppings(cheese /chicken /broccoli). Though not on the menu as a separate item, they were able to accommodate, since they serve them at dinner as a side with meat dishes. Dear Hubby ordered the meatloaf dinner, which almost required a crane to deliver — plentiful portions of everything on the plate! I wasn’t very hungry, so tried the potstickers off the appetizer menu(you can order pork, chicken, or a mix of both), plus a cup of chicken noodle soup. The potstickers were fully fried, not just fried on the bottom with the top being steamed, as they do in Chinese restaurants. The fillings were very flavorful, though. The dipping sauce on the side was tasty, but a bit salty. In our multiple visits to Junkyard, that’s my overriding memory of the food — one dish or another featured the kitchen laying on the salt too heavily. The chicken noodle soup was really disappointing. Everything was diced into tiny pieces, which made it hard to appreciate the flavors. Also, the noodles with wimpy little vermicelli pieces, also hacked into very tiny pieces. Odd. Not a substantial egg noodle like one might expect. Wouldn’t order it again. It came with some slivers of herbed pita bread. Which was stale and tasteless. Not a winner. We had double service — our server was training a newbie. They did a good job by us. Very attentive. The atmosphere is chock full of an amazing collection of junkyard finds — so much to see! Fun for families with kids. Like being in the middle of an «I Spy» book. The menu is hand printed in eclectic style, much like doodling. There are many pages of options to read. Plan to take some time to get through it.

My sister and I came here for the first time a few months ago. I live out of town and wanted to try something new. The menu options are incredible and the food was great. The atmosphere is funky, eclectic. I loved looking at all of the décor. Really good coffee! I got the chorizo. Delicious!

What a fun place. The whole place is decorated Junkyard style. You could be looking around at the details for quite sometime. Jennifer was our waitress and she gave us awesome service and was very helpful. Thank you, Jennifer! I ordered the Crash and burn Chili Spaghetti. It was great and was not very spicy in my opinion. My family ordered a Mafia Burger with stink fries(garlic) and a Tri Tip Sandwich with fresh potato chips. We all enjoyed our meals. The Tri Tip was amazing. Our daughter was happy to try the Cotton Candy Lemonade. She said it was great. They even have Cotton Candy Cosmos for the adults. This place gets huge kudos for being a fun place to go. They use shop rags for napkins which was cute. The bathrooms are fun so expect to be in there reading the jokes for a few extra minutes. The menus are very entertaining. They have a wide selection of dishes. Take some time reading the menus if you go here. I really recommend this place. We will be back!

The best! Great food and great experience. Every time I go here I am more impressed. Whenever I have out of town guests, I make sure they get the full Junkyard Experience!

The menu is insane, so much to look at. Leave yourself time to just look it over completely. Food is yummy, drinks are good. Magician they have doing table shows is fun as well. Great spot for kids or a birthday party. Enough interesting stuff to look at everywhere for adults and kids. Check it out! You’ll have a fun time!

We just moved to Simi Valley and we love their food. We always get the food«to go» and we can’t opine about the service. After reading these reviews, for the life of me I can’t get it when a restaurant puts out great food, but the patrons are consistently complaining about rude service! How could it be? You’ve got the great kitchen, just get your act together in front of the house and you’ll do a lot better! OK, three meals later, we’ve had enough if the sand in the paella! Clean the shell fish a lot more throughly before you add it to the pot for Pete’s sake! The chili is phenomenal!

The food is satisfying, the service good, the view is really nice, however, very pricey. This is a lovely place to go and impress your out-of-town Business Associates. The Junkyard Café is closed on Saturdays. If you are visiting Simi Valley, the best value for your money is the 360 Restaurant. You get a spectacular 360 degree view of the City, a chance to tour the tower/observation deck, at no additional cost, the food is just as satisfying and the atmosphere is much more entertaining and/or romantic, whether you are traveling solo, with a group or family. The following is a suggestion for the Junkyard Café: While touring the Financial Area, enjoy a drink and possibly an appetizer. This visit will help you decide whether or not you wish to make reservations to luncheon or dine at the Junkyard Café.

I’m actually pretty sure the food here is good, but I think I just ordered the wrong thing. The patty melt was very bland but the garlic fries were pretty good. I’ll return for the curiosity of the other menu options.

I have heard so much about the Junkyard Café and was in the area during dinner time so we decided to give them a try. The décor is like the set of Sanford and Sons. I’m not sure how much I liked the duck tape fixing the rips in the booths but I guess that goes with the theme. They have a very extensive menu and we went with the burgers. My son went with the Frisco Burger and I went with the Mushroom Burger. We both went for double burgers and I added pepper jack cheese to mine. They both came out fairly quickly and we both liked our burgers. I could have gone with a single, especially since they loaded up on some delicious seasoned fries. They were not too busy and our waiter did a good job keeping our glasses filled with water. Their prices are pretty reasonable, and I have to try their breakfast since I’ve heard good things about it.

Dinner 11/13/2015 Sad to update this place with a one Star Update. Been here several times before for dinner and breakfast. Food was good and service was ok also but this night was a Big Disappointment. First off we were seated promptly, no complaints there. Our waiter was unfriendly and didn’t give us the good service this place used to give. He took our drink order and disappeared for at least ten minutes before we received our drinks. Another 10 to 15 minutes went by before he returned to take our order. We asked him for a high chair for our granddaughter and he shined us on. Asking 4 more times for the chair and still not getting one we grabbed a Manager walking by who finely brought one. Our food arrived about 20 minutes after we ordered but not by our waiter. Out of the hour and a half we were there our waiter never checked on us to see if there was anything we needed. After we were long finished he showed up with our check without even asking if we wanted any dessert. To top it off the food was not up to par either. Sad fish & Chips. 2 Stars. The nightly special pot roast was not too bad but mashed potatoes or bland and tasteless. 2 ½ Stars. The spaghetti was not bad that our granddaughter had. 3 Stars. The Frinch Fries were Not up to par either. 2 Stars. The Best Food Was The Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwitch the Grandbaby Had. 3 ½ Stars. Sad But True. If You Read my over 175 Food Reviews you’ll notice I don’t give bad reviews often and I try to be fair to all involved but this place needs a reality check about their food and service. You guessed it. I Won’t Be Eating Here Again. From Hero To Zero. So Sad.

This place is shit. All done with the Junkyard. Bad attitude from the servers, they were quarreling again and as usual and it washed over into our breakfast. Expensive and just not very good. Gravy came in a cylindrical blob with the can rings imprint still on it, New employees by the day, new manager by the week and they all hate each other. Revolving door of help and that tells you how much this place sucks. Adiós, after several more visits we won’t be back. Our big breakfast club has given it up too. Past restaurants in this location have struggled with high rent and a difficult landlord and that may be what’s ruining the Junk Yard too. Damfino, this place sux.

I’m not going to lie, the décor of this place kinda rubbed me the wrong way when I first entered the restaurant; however, they stayed true to form with the whole junkyard theme. The food here is pretty good. You get a decent portion sizes for the amount you are paying for. I ordered the tri-tip sandwich, which was amazing(especially the fries). The service was average. I felt like the majority of our dining experience consisted of waiting on our waitress, but I know she was probably busy with other tables and so forth. Overall, the staff here are pretty friendly. Whenever I’m back in the area, I wouldn’t mind dining here again. Hopefully next time I’ll be better rested so I can enjoy my food more.

A Fairness Update: What can I say, like Michael in Godfather III, just when I think I’m out, they pull me back in. Only it’s not some nefarious plot, its that this place keeps getting better all the time. That, or I’ve figured out what’s really good on their various menus. One great thing I was told by our server, is that the 17th of each month is always St. Patrick’s Day on their menu; even if it’s not April. That means corned beef in many ways is available on that date, but best of all, on the 17th, and usually the day after, their amazing corned beef hash is on the menu for breakfast. Its homemade, and tastes just like what the Irish nanny served up in the orphanage when it was one’s birthday. Or perhaps it was the Irish Coffee that made everything amazing! Okay. I wasn’t raised in an orphanage, it’s just I have a natural tendency towards the Blarney side of things. Come on in and give the joint a look see, all the crazy antiques the place has on display is worth the admission, and the food really is pretty good, and some dishes are even better than that. Anything with their chili on it is a treat. Beverages are really great too, both the soft drinks for the kids and the not so soft drinks for the adults; whichever is your preference, this place will be sure to please.

OMG! Sooo Good. Right when we walked in, greeted politely & seated right away. Asked for their specials, both server & manager didn’t hesitate to inform me of their happy hour at the bar. 2pm-6pm @ bar for the hh benefit. The resto itself had all kinds of things/décor, hence the name«Junkyard». I can’t fully describe in words. Just the fact I couldn’t stop looking around, my eyes were wandering haha. A lot of memorabilia took me back to my childhood. Which was awesome, because it made it a subject to chat about. Irish Nachos were amazing! Chilli & Cheesy. South Central hot dog(Monster size-biggest/upgrade, w/onion rings extra$, was the bomb, & huge! You had a choice of fries or chips. Had to share that fo sho… And the hh drinks are Awesome! Prolly y my review sounds kinda hood. Overall, food was amazing, service was GREAT! I am definitely coming back to try more off their Out of their ordinary Menu. Everything sounds Good!
