My daughter and I always go here and shame on me I never write a review! This is a great place and always delivers great food, nice atmosphere and every time — the service has just been great! Tonight we had Rob, who is also the bartender. He went out of his, while keeping everyone at the bar happy, to make sure our experience was great. I honestly don’t understand some of the lesser reviews, because as regulars, we have never had a bad time here. Every time we swing through Simi, we always stop and glad we do! Nice job tonight Rob — so good I had to finally write a well deserved review!

went here on Valentines day the food was Terrible boring and bland. the fish and chips boring, Fish tacos Boring and Wedge salad was boring. WTH happened to this place. the fish and chips was really good when this place first opened basically it was like Frozen food from the store. all the food was just BLAN and boring no pep to it. the fish and chips porition should have been bigger and made better with beer batter than the crap they served. coleslaw was blan and dull, boring boring boring. please bring Better Fish tacos and Fish and chips to SV please. should have went to Islands.

Service SUCKED!!! The place, the food is ALWAYSGOOD!!! But today’s service was AWFUL!!! I don’t care if you tell me you are«sorry I was in the middle of transitioning» what ever THAT means — but seriously how LONG did we have to wait for EVERYTHING, while being IGNORED — especially when my husband said, «we’re ready to order now!» And my husbands voice carries like a freaking echo in the Grand Canyon!!! Sorry«David» — wait no WEARENTSORRY — we’re disappointed and mains sure the next time we are here is when you are not, or we will be walking out. We LOOOOOVE this place, but have been soooooooo disappointed this time around. My husband had enough — he’s now walking over to the manager — we are frequent customers — please correct this for us.

It started out badly and just got worse. We sat for quite awhile before our server, Russell, came by to introduce himself and ask us what we wanted to drink. Then it took even longer to get our drinks.(We asked for water and an arnold palmer.) Once we finally had our drinks, he took our order. My husband said he didn’t want the cheese potatoes and asked if he could get the spinach instead. Russel said it would cost us an additional $ 3 to get spinach instead. We said ok. I ordered the sizzling filet mignon cooked medium. We each ordered a bowl of clam chowder. t took a very long time to receive our clam chowder. I thought it was already made and it should have been a simple thing for us to get pretty quickly. We finally got our soup. Then we began our wait for our food. When my husband food was served to him by Russel(the server that took our order) he gave him the food with the cheese potatoes and no spinach. My husband ended up clearing the potatoes from his plate and the server took them away. Then Russel gave me my sizzling steak(not even sizzling at all.) but instead of being cooked medium, it was completely well done. I showed it to him and he said he would have them make me a new plate. After ten or more minutes I noticed my husband was waiting for my food to be served before he would eat. Now I was getting upset and asked our server to make two meals together as my husband would now be eating cold food. He said the manager would be over to speak with us. A short while later, a man approached us and asked if we would like him to take my husband’s food to a heat lamp to keep it warm while we waited for my meal. I said no thank you. I have asked for two new meals from our server while I was waiting for you and I do not want my husband’s food put under a lamp to keep it warm! Then we decided we just wanted to leave. We asked our server to give a check for the soup, bread, tea, and water we had just eaten so we could leave. We no longer wanted our food. He said the manager would be over. We waited and waited for the manager to come over but no one came. So we put a $ 20 on the table and started to leave. At that time the same man that had offered to heat up our food came rushing over to us as we were walking out the door…” I am firing up new food for you right now… I said its too late. We are done. This has been the worst service and food I’ve ever experienced. Poor poor quality and service! I told him the manager didn’t even come over. He said that he was the manager! I couldn’t believe he was the manager. The manager suggested to keep my husband’s food warm under a heat lamp while they made my food over again. The food they brought him with the cheesy potatoes he said he didn’t/couldn’t eat and would pay $ 3 extra for spinach instead… Then they brought a side plate of spinach to sit and get cold while we waited for my meal. I am so disappointed in this restaurant. We eat there weekly and have never had such a horrible experience! I just can’t believe how upset I am. We came home without eating dinner. We each had a bowl of soup. I am so sad.

We have eaten here twice and it’s been great! Seafood gratin was wonderful… seafood grill combo equally good. Cosmos are great as well. Service was very good to! We will be back!

I had a great experience here. Didn’t realize it has been around for a few years. I got the 3 piece entrée. Coconut shrimp(eh, get something else), mako shark(SOGOOD) and tri tip which was also pretty good. My boyfriend had the ultimate surf and turf I think it’s called. He had zero complaints. The prices are fair, our server was nice. The food took a little long to come out, there was probably only 8 other people eating. But it was worth the wait in my opinion. It’s not like we were in a rush or anything. We will definitely be back.

Great food, drinks and service. We hosted a get together with a few people. David the GM was very accommodating to our party of 20 and gave us a section of the restaurant to ourselves. Thanks to Market Broiler and the staff we all had a great time. We will definitely be back

Gave them 1 star because I can’t give them none. Have been here quite often, normally good food and good service. Can’t rate anything now because I had no food to rate. We were seated at our table and our waiter finally came around after a few minutes and said he would have to get back with us. They were pretty busy tonight so I could understand waiting a few minutes. After about 10 – 15 minutes, Waiter never came back, we were wondering if he would ever come back. Last straw was when the table behind my wife was seated and their waitress immediately came over and took their drink order. Got up, and started to walk out, no one was at the host desk, saw the bartender and told her that we couldn’t get any service and to let her manager know. Update: talked to the manager, he asked me to give him some details about the incident and to come back. I just finished my great meal. I had the Cobia. I would recommend you try. Very nice fish good texture and taste. Service was great. Ask for«Tyler». My wife had the snapper. She enjoyed it also.

We have been to market broiler many times, and have always had a good experience there. The food is good, the wait staff is pleasant and attentive, and the ambience is open and airy. We enjoy the swordfish and the trout.

Just a heads up to all those coming here for their happy hour deals that they are now $ 6 instead of $ 5 and the Tuesday fish taco deal is now 2 for $ 5. Not a big difference but not as good of a value. I still like the food here especially the salmon lovers ultimate roll which is my favorite sushi dish anywhere.

I love this restaurant! We’ve had super friendly and wonderful service along with delicious meals! My family(there’s 12 of us) love the Ahi poke! Happy hour has a great selection with reasonable prices!

The bad reviews should have been a turn off already. Not knowing much in the area, I went here with some friends and had the fish and chips. Food came out quickly and service was fine, but the quality was really sub par. Granted, it is one of the cheaper dishes on the menu and I am sure the fresh fish is much better, but this really lacked any kind of flavor, it was just greasy. Décor and vibe is nice, would not rush to come back and pass on ordering the fish and chips next time.

Doing a happy dance!!! Thank you to the owners of Market Broiler. It brought back memories of the Crab Cooker and Seafood Broiler. We just moved to Simi. I saw the restaurant sign and recognized the font. When a large group said they would be going, I jumped at the chance. I was explained the lineage – that dates back to Crab Cooker The smell of the restaurant bright back great memories, as did the sourdough bread. I was so happy to have mesquite broiler red snapper, the cole slaw, and rice pilaf again! I savored every bite! Timothy, Tyler and Daisy did a great job getting our delicious food promptly. Very well organized. I think it was over 30 people! I called my husband from the restaurant to tell him the news of old favorites. We will be back!!!

We were a little hesitant about coming here after reading the reviews about Market Broiler. We came in at about 6:30pm on a Friday. The hostess said that the wait would be about a 15 minute wait, and our wait time was about just that. We were greeted by Tyler, a very nice and attentive server. Being our first time here, I was uncertain about what to order. Tyler asked some questions about what I liked, and helped me to decide on what to order. The food was DELICIOUS and arrived pretty quickly. The coconut shrimp was AMAZING! I would definitely come back, and recommend this place to my friends and family! Great food and great service after a long day at work… aaaaaahhhhhh!!! Thank you, Tyler and Market Broiler, for an amazing evening!

Came for lunch at noon today with my Dad. Sat in the bar, and Rob was once again our server. He is so attentive and friendly. He constantly fills your drinks, and checks in often. I got my usual, the shrimp and scallop combo. This time I got the red potatoes and the garlic spinach. The shrimp was a bit over done, but the scallops were cooked to perfection. Service and food are always good when we come. This is one of our favorite spots to eat at.

Second time going there to celebrate a friend’s birthday. NOGOOD. This will be the last time we go there I guess. We ordered two Filet Mignon meal at $ 29.99 each, and it comes with a tiny cup of soup and three asparagus! No other sides like most restaurants do… Some of us still feel hungry but we just do not want to spend another dime at this place, so we just called it a night and left. We went there on a Sunday night, waited for 5 minutes at the front door with NO Receptionist. It then took the waiter a very long time to come to our table to get our orders. Food came and the portion is very stingy. I opened up the napkin and it stinks, so I had to ask for paper napkins instead. Not a pleasant experience at all. Will not go back and WILLNOT recommend it. I see now why they only have 3 stars on Unilocal!!!

I went to Market Broiler with my kids and mom to satisfy our oyster craving. Dee, our server was phenomenal! She answered all of our questions, was very attentive and went above and beyond to make our dining experience fabulous! The oysters were not only amazing but the Chilean Sea Bass(served on a hot plate) was prepared perfectly. Dee even had some brussels sprouts sautéed and made to my liking. She was so kind to my kids and I will only be back to sit in her section. Thank you!
