Not only was their Cuban Sandwich gone Bananas one of the 2 best cubano sandwiches I have ever eaten. the other from kool Korners, ATL circa 1996… I think it may be one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. Crunchy bread, tender meats, amazing flavor, I could go on. I highly recommend this place!

Try the Steak Gone Bananas and the Black Beans and Rice. Super-duper good… Hee-hee-hee They were out of Beef Empanadas so I tried the Cuban Stuffed which had a dillish flavor… I will eat their again…

Food was great and at a great price. Will be back for sure. The sandwiches had a great flavor and the rice and beans were amazing. Make sure you use the homage sauce.

It was okay. Very small place, kinda worked with us on stuff, but overall, we were all disappointed. We’ve just had so much better. ;-(

Exceptional food. I always get it to go. I have only had the sandwiches, but friends have said all the food is great! Be sure to ask and check to make sure you receive the sauces. The first 2 times I was there, I asked, but when I got home, no sauces! Gotta have the saucrs!

We love Cuban food, and we have eaten it all over the southeast. This is the best place we’ve had in years. The ropa vieja is to die for. The location and décor are unassuming, and the food is surprisingly delicious!

A very unique menu of sandwiches. Be sure and get the house staple, the Cuban. Also a selection of unique bottled sodas. I can typically eat a small pizza by myself, so when I say the Cuban sandwich is big enough for two people, trust me.

Best Cuban food I have ever had. Cuban sandwiches were incredible. My wife came into the restaurant very pessimistic, and she walked out raving about the sandwiches, the black beans and rice, and the empanada(brisket). If we lived closer, it would be a staple in our restaurant rotation. As it is, it is now our staple place to hit as we leave the area of Sunday’s. Four thumbs up.

Amazing food but the customer service was horrible! I was told there wasn’t any to go boxes as she boxed up several to go orders! Very unprofessional wait staff but the food will probably bring me back for my cubano fix!

Fantastic Cuban food that is to die for. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with the beautiful aroma of the food. This place is as good as it gets and we are lucky to have such a great place in Simpsonville. I highly recommend the Mad Cuban!

Great food and the best coffee in the area! Better than Starbucks! The ropa vieja empanadas are the best too. Only downside is I think some of the things are a bit overpriced but that won’t stop me from going!

There is nothing bad to say when it comes to this gem! The pork is some of the best pork I have ever personally had. Having some serious hispanic blood running through these veins I have had many Cuban and Puerto Rican dishes. Not only can you taste the authentic cuban food in every bit you can feel it in the air. We came on Sunday after the Farm Fresh event and the line was long and continued to stay that way till be left. Get in line grab yourself a drink in the cooler or wait for a fountain drink, order and have a seat. Need any hot sauces they are located by the register. We got some Empanadas(ground beef; OG people) Amazing, so flavorful. Traditional ground beef my friends. Reminded me of my summers in PR. My man piece got the Cuban. Could not stop raving about it and the pork. Said it was better than any cuban he has ever had! Pssht I went traditional of couse. I got Lechon Asado. Tender juicy pork with onions and black beans & rice with some fresh steamy sweet plantaines. Listen I could of stopped eating. but I smashed it. I could not help myself! If you are in the area you have to check out the Mad Cuban! You will not be disappointed.

Probably the Best Cuban Sandwich… This Side of Habanã ! What a Find! You’ll find the MADCUBANCAFE tucked-in next to a Bi-Lo store in the middle of Simpsonville, South Carolina… WOW! Who Knew! You place your order with Edurne, who is warm and friendly. The rest of the folks are really nice too… looks like a family operation. My sandwich was individually prepared… so expect things to take a few minutes… just relax and take a look at the vintage photos and artwork on the walls… listen in with your high school Spanish and you’ll hear the Cuban dialect being spoken. My sandwich was brought to my table and it was perfect. The bread freshly baked, the BBQ perfectly seasoned… the perfect level of spice and flavor. Plantain and sauté done to perfection. What’s not to like! I enjoyed the experience so much that I ordered another ‘take-away’ for tonight… what can I say it was good ?? The only thing missing were a couple retired gents, smoking Cuban cigars and playing a game of Dominos… Hopefully we’ll see that too, soon.

I happened to be driving through Simpsonville this week for work and my handy Unilocal app pointed me to this place as I am not a fan of Ye Olde Olive Garden or Ruby Tuesdays. Thought I’d try something different and Cuban Food sounded good. Ordered the Cuban Sandwich with Rice and Beans. The sandwich came out perfect, nice thick ham and pork seasoned well, and the bread absolutely made the sandwich. Rice and beans were even good. Places like this are few and far between and to find then on a random ride through is extra special.

As advertised. The«gone bananas» twist on the traditional Cuban is exceptional. As good as anything in S. Florida or Tampa. Yes, even as good as The Columbia. That’s high praise for me.

One of the best Cuban food I have had outside of South Florida. Tostones — made fresh, crispy & served Hot(very nice) Chicken Gone Banana — one of the best chicken sandwiches I have ever had, too good & not to be missed. Mango Milkshake — tasted just awsem. Overall this is a great restaurant & staff was very friendly. Not to be missed.

A piece of Havana in Simpsonville! Sort of like that feeling you got when you heard they were making a sequel to Dirty Dancing(Dirty Dancing 2: Havana Nights, see what I did there?), I was completely skeptical at first. I mean, here’s this little cuban place, in a shopping center beside a grocery store, how good can it really be? I mean, nobody puts Baby in the corner right? Wrong, so wrong. First let me say, I’ve had a cuban as close to actual Cuban as I could, on the sunny shores of Key West, where you can eat your cuban sandwich while looking out into the distance at Cuba. It’s kind of strange actually. Sort of Twlight Zone-ish. Sorry, sorry, back to the point. Authentic, cheap cuban food. Let me say that again, AUTHENTIC, CHEAPCUBANFOOD. Now you understand. First thing you should know, the staff is super friendly. Like came out to our table and talked to us for a while type of friendly. Second thing, you’ll never go wrong here. All the food is just made with love, so much love, like they cook the black beans from scratch over night type of love. Third thing, split some food to get more options. The cubans are huge(that’s what she said… really, I couldn’t help it) and are easily enough for two people. This is how we do it: grab a Cuban Gone Insane,(not like Tony Montana with a tommygun in Scarface insane, but close to it), two Ropa Veja Empanadas(say hello to my little friend, a pillow of bread filled with brisket cooked and seasoned to perfection) and two sides of black beans and rice. Be sure to grab some of their homemade sauce to go a long with it. Now sit down at your little table, close your eyes, take a bite of that sandwich, and let the flavors take you to far off beaches with warm breezes and the smell of finely wrapped cigars wafting in from the distance. Just remember that you’re in public and loudly moaning is not acceptable. Under any circumstances. It just gets really awkward.
