I must say I wanted to try this Marriott property for breakfast for sometime and had some business to do and was in the area and finally got a chance to. What a pleasant surprise! My experience at 3800 Ocean was for breakfast. With direct ocean views, the dining room is open and expansive. The food was freshly prepared and had good presentation. The individual hot fresh coffee pot that is left at table is a nice touch also. I want the focus of this review however to be of the SERVICE at 3800 Ocean ~ as it was OUTSTANDING ~ just about every level of staff was attentive and willing to please… right down to the minute I left(Michael~the Valet!) If you are seeking a «high energy» dining experience and prefer to be served with ease, comfort and attentiveness than this is the place to dine. Would return for this reason. Not many stones were left unturned! Bill Marriott would be proud! Thanks again!

The food was amazing and the service was pleasant and efficient. Torry was my server. He was extremely polite, had a constant smile and was an overall great server. Delightful meal and a delightful view. I highly recommend coming here.

The breakfast was phenomenal… several options to choose from… but I chose the smoked salmon and smoked herring, with a veggie omelette. Satisfied… absolutely lush

Unique dishes: had clam and sausage appetizer which was light and flavorful, beet salad was just Ok, but chicken w pasta meal was very good! And warm onion bread was nice to start with!

The food was fine, not amazing but good. The waiter was knowledgeable & personable. One major issue though. I had reserved a particular table in person earlier in the day, tipping the individual who recommended that table. I arrived(a few minutes early) and the hostess immediately apologized that they had just inadvertently given my table to another couple. It was the ONLY taken table in an otherwise empty restaurant!

The best lunch. Great attentive service Kelli was great. If you order white wine have it chilled first. Otherwise excellent with an amazing view.

We live a few buildings away from The Marriott(where 3800 Ocean is) and have been meaning to get here and last night we took the plunge. We loved it!!! The décor is crisp, clean and the view overlooks the ocean. The staff couldn’t be nicer and accommodating. For example, my husband ordered shrimp cocktail for an appetizer and instead of cocktail sauce, the chef prepared it with a salsa infused sauce. The manager asked him how he liked it and my husband said he didn’t love the sauce as he was expecting cocktail sauce but still enjoyed the shrimp!(He finished it!!!) Well, the manager sent over a tuna appetizer over guacamole which was absolutely delicious and guess what– he took BOTH appetizers off our bill!!! Who does that!!! Our entrees were to die for– my husband had a delicious penne pasta with chicken and a pesto sauce and I had sweet potato gnocchi’s. My gnocchi’s were pan seared(didn’t say that on the menu) and when they came to ask me how my food was I told them they were delicious but I didn’t know they were pan seared and again, they offered me another entrée and I kindly declined. We must’ve seemed like two pains, but at the end of the evening we loved our food, ambiance, and hospitality. A must go to if you’re on Singer Island!!!

The food is just ok. But the service is terrible. They are overwhelmed at the place half full. For the prices so many better places to go. It took forever to take a drink order, then the dinner order, then the check. Overpriced

We had an excellent lunch. My wife had a very good flatbread, and I had a pretzel chicken club sandwich filled with awesomeness with a melt in your mouth pretzel bun. Also, the view of the ocean is incredible. A great experience If you are willing to pay for it. I took away a star though because of value. Prices were inflated.

We did not care for this restaurant at all. I ordered the lobster ceviche for $ 21. Such a small amount and it was lacking flavor. My kale salad was very chewy, again not much flavor and they left the stems on several pieces which is a restaurant no no. The clams and sausage appetizer was delicious except you couldn’t really find much sausage. We ordered a triangular mousse and key lime dessert that was definitely not made there, maybe Costco, BJ’s or some restaurant supply place. It was horrible and bland except for the tiny bit of key lime flavoring on top. A total waste of $ 9 and we couldn’t even finish it. I give credit and 5 stars to the waitstaff only. They were very attentive throughout our meal. We were very disappointed with this restaurant :(

Nothing negative to report. Nice ambiance great service and excellent food. We are low carb diners and had several choices. Great crab cake. Field of greens salad lightly dressed was perfect. Grouper with spinach and filet with Brussels sprouts was yummy. Finished the meal with strawberries with whipped cream. Would come back here anytime

Despite some negative reviews this place has zero cons and all pros: Pros: great ambience, excellent service, amazing food. Oso Buco was incredible along with Scallops, Salmon and Truffle Risotto. Appetizers were excellent as well having the clams and quail. Quail was out of this world. The only possible Con is price. A 350.00 bill when it was all over. Ouch.

Horrible experience. The service was slow. When we ordered the food was not what we ordered. My pork medallions was a single thin piece of pork. There was supposed to be a tomato side and it wasn’t there. The manager did take it off the bill though.

Don’t even think about it! We are from NY and appreciate fine dining. But not lousy food at insulting prices! That’s what you get here. We feel taken!

Located in a very nice Marriott, this restaurant has lovely beach views and pleasant, upscale décor. I’ve eaten here twice and found the food to be decent, but the portions are very small. This visit I started with the Carpaccio of Yellowfin Tuna with Meyer Lemon, Basil Oil, Fleur de Sel, and a small pile of very thin Cucumber Noodle for $ 18. The tuna was a single layer of thinner than paper fish… nice flavor, but there was literally nothing to it. This is a pricey dish that could have been inhaled, it was so insubstantial. For my entrée, I quizzed the waiter on his favorites and he named the New England Day Boat Scallops, which were served on top of a bed of Lobster Potato Hash, with Bacon Onion Jam and Roasted Tomato Butter. I received 3 scallops on this small bed of accompaniment with an undeserved $ 38 price tag. Yep, 3. When I asked the waiter, he said they go by «weight». I know scallops are pricey, but 3? Really?! The atmosphere is good, though touristy as you might imagine, but the food is not worth the menu prices. And I’m not simply grousing about pricey menus, since I will happily fork over a decent amount of cash for some really good food, even in small portions, but I just felt ripped off here. So, I won’t be returning.

Went to the Christmas brunch, while the food is average the service is really not good. I made the reservation but when we arrived there was not available seating. I asked about the empty tables, the hostess told me it was taken. Twenty mins later, we were seated at the same seats!!! The waitress may just be really busy, but she wouldn’t not come to pick up our used plates and didn’t ask to refill our water. I took the tea pot to the service station to refill myself … Mind you this is a 55 $ per person buffet The food was average, dessert not good… Store bought quality… I would not come back here

I didn’t realize it was a hotel when I Unilocaled it. But it was noon and we were hungry and figured since we were already there we could get a great view. The steak was overcooked. Asked for medium and got well done to the max. My husband’s meal was barely edible. The only only thing that was good was the dessert. Our waitress seemed nice at first and definitely was not rude, but she was very inattentive. I paid $ 3 for iced tea that never got refilled and there was so little ice in it that by the time I was a quarter of the way done with it, all my ice had dissolved. I guess I could have complained, but I’m sorry I never trust what may happen to food you send back. When we first arrived we were saying how nice it would be to have a weekend getaway there, but after this experience, we definitely will decline.

Good food but small appetizer portions. The flavor was spot on though. The view is nice but slightly obstructed. The service was excellent. Not rushing back but will return.

I had an entrée of scallops over a vegetable hash. The scallops were not only perfectly tender but had a crusty sear, veggies were perfectly tender and seasoned. Though the interior looks like a palace, the menu had a nice farm-to-table touch with familiar ingredients and dishes. When we ordered lunch a few days after– the mahi sandwich– they not only had gluten-free bread to accommodate my allergy but the sandwich was delicious. Spicy mayo, pickled onions and charred mahi. The service is great, the restaurant is roomy and upscale, and the back patio has a romantic view of the ocean. Perfect place for a special occasion meal.
