Food is good pub style food at the tiki bar… the inside restaurant has decent food. though a little slow. don’t by nix drinks as you get the mix and little drink. bar tending staff at both locations are decent. But slow at times… I have no issue eating there… just have to know it’s not a class A place… live music all the time which adds to the reason to go there

The food is great and reasonably priced. Unlike your typical restaurant in a resort this is high quality flavorful food. Make sure to try the wings and there are too many wonderful desserts to choose from. The lobster special is amazing. Make sure to get there early. This is justifiably a popular place. There is entertainment every night and a dance floor. After dinner take a walk on the beach for a wonderful evening, best on the island

We were recommended to the Islander by a couple we met at Bonefish Grill the night before we came. They said the Maine lobster special was excellent. It was and our service was great despite a completely full house. Not sure what was good on with Heather C., but I complemented Nico on a great dinner. I can’t imagine him not being a most affable manager to all. The live music was perfect and the little dance floor very inviting. People were having a great time!

A friend recommended The Islander to me when I said I was coming to West Palm Beach. I ordered the Surf & Turf which was Excellent! I highly recommend trying it. The atmosphere was very serene, and the live music was the icing on the cake. The Tiki bar was very fun & entertaining and the drinks provide that perfect amount of kick. Definitely recommend The Islander to anyone looking to unwind when coming to the West Palm Beach area.

Worst manners for a manager!!! We have eaten at many restaurants but have never been as offended as we were tonight. I watched Nico, the restaurant’s manager(as I discovered later) comandeer our waitress such that the family who was seated simultaneously had their wine, drinks and food ordered before she even greeted us. He then STOLE my son’s chair when we got up to let my toddler stretch his legs while waiting on drinks and food. I grabbed a chair from another table and grumpily placed it in the empty space. He did not glance at me, much less apologize or try to give me back our chair. While I was speaking to Mel, the assistant manager, at the end of the meal, a waitress came up to Nico to tell him about a «big lady» inside trying to get him into trouble in full hearing of my husband.(I weigh 260). He laughed and said he didn’t care, even when she reminded him that it was his restaurant. The food is adequate to fill your stomachs if a bit overpriced($ 72 for 2 kids meals, a hamburger, spinach salad and fish tacos) as long as you don’t mind careless management who will steal your chair and gossip about customers within earshot of other customers!

Outside bar is decent. Hard to not like a bar that is outside next to a pool and a stone’s throw from the beach. Food is tasty as well, but slightly over priced for what is offered. Lisa was super attentive outside!

Bad service. Literally took 10 minutes before we got our water, and had to ask a separate server before we got them. Server didn’t check on us once. I had to get up and ask the host for condiments. When he brought it he dropped it at the table and didn’t ask or say anything. Very inattentive. Anyway the food was so so, fries bad, frozen. Worst dining experience in Florida. Disappointing.

Food is always on point every single time I go. This last visit. I went light and had the mozzarella, tomato, basil salad. It was excellent as always. The atmosphere is fun and there are a lot of vacationers by the pool area to people watch. Good times.

Breakfast was good and lunch was good… Would recommend the blackened mahi sandwich and fries, I like fries and they are some of the best I have ever had. The chicken nachos were also really good, next up is the NY style pizza… Stay tuned for an update! Service is also really good! We like this place.

The hostess Blerina was extremely rude last time I came to this place, it’s been a while since the last time I came here and it’ll be the last. It’s too bad since I’ve got great memories from this place, great live music, ok food and really bad service.

Honestly the valet paid more attention to us than our waiter did. The food was mediocre. The tiki bar theme was squashed by the fact that there is a hotel pool within mere feet from the outside dining. I won’t be returning.

I stayed at the resort with my wife and we spent most of out time hanging at the bar. The food and service was great and made the vacation. Especially Lisa Who made ever trip to the bar a blast. Definitely headed back there in the future.

Beware! The directions linked to this spot take you to the wrong area of the island that is represented by the pin. We wound up 30 min south of the pin at a beach resort that had never heard of the Tiki Bar.

I have to give 5 stars to the Palm Beach Shores Resort valet… he was very attentive and when I walked outside before everyone else, he even knew which car to retrieve before Dad came out with the valet ticket. I wish I had gotten his name, but I still wanted to give him props! The resort is very pretty inside. The Island Grill décor reminded me of Gilligan’s Island. Personally, I liked it. The night we were there they had a lounge singer who was pretty decent… but I’m probably biased because he came over and serenaded me. :) We never made it outside to the Tiki bar because it was raining. So, why the 2 star rating? Where to begin? We will start with the good and end with the ugly… Mom had purchased a $ 25 certificate so that is what brought us here in the first place. My food was very good! I would give it a 4.5 and the whole experience a 4. I am on an «Arnold Palmer» kick which is ½ lemonade and ½ ice tea(unsweetened for me) which gives me the opportunity to flatter the server by telling them that their combination was the best one I ever had. I was trying to make friends with our server, Connie, like Cindy O. had suggested in her review. It worked! There was friendly banter and least she brought us some warm rolls and butter. I really miss the days when restaurants always brought out bread. I ordered the Tuna Ponzu which was sesame crusted and cooked perfectly rare! It was so delicious with the sweet Thai chili sauce(they called it something else) that I didn’t even use the Ponzu sauce(a sweet soy sauce). The roasted veggies were nothing to write about. For $ 17 and under 400 calories… let’s just say everyone wished they had ordered my dish! My sister ordered the Bronzed chicken pasta($ 14). It was like fettuccine alfredo with spinach and sundried tomatoes. Tasty after she asked for some Parmesan cheese. She also had a cup of corn chowder which was the soup of the day($ 6)…potatoes, corn and cream… yum. Unfortunately Mom and Dad both ordered the Avocado Mahi($ 16 each). Heaven knows why. The grilled mahi was dry, dry, dry. The rice was dry but the avocado was fresh. They both tried my tuna and I had to watch them out of the corner of my eye because rare tuna taste nothing like dry mahi. They tried to salvage their fish by smearing avocado on it, but it didn’t help. Mom ate my veggies and took my ponzu to saturate her fish. She declared it was 1000% better afterward but still a disappointment. Let me interject here. My parents do not complain. As they kept eating their dry fish, you would NEVER know there was even a problem. I wanted to speak up but they both asked me not to. The sad thing is all 3 of us have worked in the restaurant business. Mom and I in the front of the house and Dad in the back of the house. They are of the old school that you don’t send your food back or the cook will spit in it. I am of the NEW school where if you are paying $ 16 for mahi in Palm Beach, Florida, you speak up that the 2 small fillets are drier than the saltines that accompanied my sister’s chowder. What made me sad is my Mom was going to order the daily special which was a coconut crusted grouper(saw a good review on Unilocal) but because we were told we could not apply the coupon to the daily special, Mom chose something else. We were on vacation. Mom should have ordered what she wanted and let us figure out the bill… we would have ordered their tiny shot glass desserts for $ 6. In actuality, I could not find Connie to even complain if I wanted to. She was very attentive at first but once the entrees were put in front of us, she never came back to ask how everything was. I’m guessing she went outside for a smoke break because the restaurant was NOTBUSY. As it was, the dinner left a bad taste and it made me sad when Connie added 18% gratuity before applying the coupon. gives the server that option and Connie did not know us. Too bad because she would have gotten a much larger tip. If we could go back in time and order 3 Tuna Ponzus, it would have been a better night. Sorry, Islander…2 stars for you. ps. The rolls were too dense. They looked like soft, yeasty rolls, but were thick, chewy ones… only saving grace was that they were warm, we were hungry and there was butter!!!

I loved this place. I’m glad I didn’t listen to everybody on here this time bc I usually do! The grouper was the best grouper I ever put in my mouth! I have to have the recipe… My cousin got the snapper with Thai and she was drooling over my grouper… snapper wasn’t that good compared to mine… didn’t care for the salad… then the next day I wanted to get the grouper again but decided to try the pasta… I had the islander penne which I can say I liked my cousin which had the shrimp linguine. and the pasta was overcooked and flavorless! Bread was so yummy… I will have the grouper again before I leave this place

We used a coupon and had the filet with blue cheese, and it was very good! Resort atmosphere, good service if you make friends with staff. Some drink specials, music, and outdoor seating a plus. Restaurant has a special every night.

This place is located inside Palm Beach Shores Resort and Villas. They have a very attentive service staff. They’re all friendly, too. It is convenient that their Tiki Bar is beside the swimming pool. Their food is okay. We never sat inside the restaurant because the band was too loud. Overall, it was okay.
