My friend was visiting from Minneapolis and wanted to check out the local stores in Skaneateles. It is my hometown and I am so proud of the local businesses and the atmosphere. We specifically went to Skaneateles 300′ to buy jewelry. The sales associate at the store was very rude and gave us attitude when we asked about the selection of jewelry. We decided to leave without buying anything simply because of this associate. When we were leaving, we watched her count the bracelets that we were looking at to make sure we didn’t steal any. The owner needs to teach this employee that every customer should be appreciate… dressed up or down. I may have a couple tattoos, but my friend and I still spent a few hundred dollars that day on local business(aka Imagine). Please hire new employees that appreciate their job and the beautiful location in which they get to work!

I ended up walking out of this place because the girl working was a giant snot(so much that I do plan on trying to call a manager about it). She clearly hated her job and had no interest in helping anybody. My friend and I were dressed super casual, so maybe that had something to do with it. But we went there specifically to look for Alex and Ani bracelets. The couple of times I have seen them in various stores the employees have been so helpful and so knowledgeable about the bracelets. This woman completely ignored us when we were looking at them. I also asked when the shops in the area closed and she looked at me like I’m dumb and said, «uh, I have no idea but WE close at 7.» Um… ok. She also didn’t greet any of the other people in the shop. My friend and I raised an eyebrow at each other and kept poking around. I took a couple of bracelets out of the holder and tried them on while the girl yawned and looked on the computer. When we were leaving the girl counted the bracelets. As a 31 year old with the ability to buy bracelets I was pretty offended. Its tourist season at the Finger Lakes, I get the fact that the number of browsers of increase — but its also an increase in shoppers too. Needless to say, I don’t recommend this shop to anyone.

Whenever I’m in town I always stop in to the store. The owner has amazing taste that’s high in quality, great labels you usually only see in NYC like Frye boots, high end jeans, Trina Turk and loads more. As well as clothes, there’s always a great few handbags, clutches and awesome jewelry. Definitely stop in when you’re visiting.
