My husband wandered down into the basement shop when I was taking too much time looking at the Vera in Village Choices(on the main floor). This is a treasure trove of a flea market style shop, with little booths each focusing on their own different items. There was a large section of wooden item(crates, bowling pins, golf clubs, sleds, etc) in the corner immediately to the right at the bottom of the stairs. The middle sections featured some clothes, plenty of jewelry, and even more knick knacks and prints. The section that really drew us in was the antique maps. There is an impressive selection of maps from mid-1800s to early 1900s of Skaneateles, Syracuse, Rochester, and their surrounding counties. There was a decent selection of select states or combinations of states as well as countries and continents. The one employee we saw was cleaning bells the whole time(makes for a festive environment), but offered help in the organization of the maps. Prices seemed reasonable for quality and selection, but I don’t do much antique shopping in the area, so I can’t specifically compare to local prices.
