Nice to find REAL food, reasonable prices, and friendly staff in a somewhat hidden location. You won’t be disappointed or leave hungry. A real gem! This place has a very original style with great care put into every aspect. Especially the food. Compliments to the chef and management here for attention to detail and unique recipes! I’ll be back anytime I’m out this way.

Came here looking for allergy-friendly food after a family get-together at another restaurant who couldn’t tell me what was in their burgers(come on people, I don’t expect everywhere to be allergy-friendly, but you should at least know what’s in the food you’re cooking). Anyway, arrived starving. Ordered the Chicken –n-Greens in a fit of hunger and was initially a little disappointed when the dish arrived because it turned out to be a soup rather than a plate of food(I know, my fault for not reading«broth» in the description – I was hungry). But then it didn’t matter because I was blown away by its deliciousness. Seriously, who thought quinoa would be delicious? It was. Food was good, service and atmosphere was good, menu has allergy labeling. Will definitely return if I’m in the area.

Highly recommend! Good with kids, gives them crayons & coloring menu… Food is delicious! Not«cheap» but reasonably priced for how good it is & portion sizes. I had the fried potato salad as an appetizer, everyone devoured it, then sweet potato salad and toasted red pepper soup. Both were unique and fantastic! The tea was simple, celestial seasons… Nice that they use a lot of local produce & meats too!

We brought some friends from VA here and it was a hit! I had the short rib sandwich with strawberry BBQ, and fried potato salad. It was phenomenal. They should bottle the sauce and sell it. My friends tried the Pastrami sandwich and double bacon cheeseburger with sweet potato fries. They were spicy but delicious and the sandwiches were terrific. Kids all shared pizza. Our trip was so successful, we returned the following week with my parents. Mom had short ribs on my suggestion, and Dad had meatball sandwich, and admitted the meatballs were the«Best he has EVER had!» …and he has had a lot of meatballs!(Incidentally, the same comment was made the previous visit by all who tried one of the kids’ meatballs from the spaghetti.) The place has a great vibe, good tunes, and only uses local ingredients. A home run for the owners, and the town of Skaneateles!

I went here with Ray and his mom for an early dinner. I ordered the Broccoli Alfredo with Chicken. Ray’s mom got Spaghetti and Meatballs. Ray ordered the Clams. From what I heard the Spaghetti and Meatballs was really good. Ray’s mom said it was great. It looked good too. Ray ate almost all his and then when we left he tried taking his moms take home to our home but she quickly put a stop to that. My Brocolli Alfredo on the other hand tasted like the Prego stuff you get out of the jar. It didn’t have much flavor. The pasta was a spiral pasta that was a little under cooked. It was obviosly out of a box. The service was fantastic! The waitress was super friendly. The environment was cute. It’s an old garage/service station that has been remodeled into a small restaurant. If you are in the area you should give it a try but don’t get the Brocolli Alfredo.

Loved the vibe. Cool and cozy and intimate and unique. The server was friendly and helpful. We got the fried mozzarella appetizer and some local(?) beer the server recommended. I ordered the Garage Riggies and my husband opted for the Mozarella Chicken for the main course. She warned me that the Garage Riggies is a little spicy, but if you like a little spice the dish is nice and tasty.

This place is text book example of a hit or miss restaurant. Sometimes a great meal other times a sloppy mess. If your going to charge $ 13 for a salad better make sure its going to be up to par every time. Sometimes not worth the gamble on the amount you have to throw down. Have a meeting with your cooks and get them up on the same level of the definition of quality control and consistency.

My husband and I came here for lunch after looking at the menu online. I ordered the Thai Broccoli pasta, but somehow they were out of it, which was disappointing. Instead, I ordered the Basil Pesto Pasta and my husband got the lunch portion of the Chicken Riggies. Both of the dishes tasted good, but the pasta was swimming in a huge bowl of sauce. The pasta came with garlic knots which we both thought tasted OK. They weren’t anything fantastic. Overall, the food is good and we would probably come back again for lunch. We didn’t order beer but they seemed to have a decent local selection, which is always nice to see.

Love this restaurant, it’s a perfect casual dinner location. The menu is just so much different that anything else in town. I love the local food selections and specials. Their tap beer menu is fantastic. And the atmosphere is great. I’ve never had a bad meal at this restaurant. I’m a big fan of the hot rod pasta! We even enjoyed some deep fried curd cheese that was the special– WOW it was amazing. The staff is always very helpful and cheerful. If you are looking for a great casual evening out, be sure to visit.

So happy to see this place doing well! The place has a great vibe, great music playing and lots of attention to detail. Not to mention the food was excellent! Ordered the edamame dumplings to start and they were delicious. Then ordered a chicken quinoa bowl which was great as well. The service was wonderful and everyone seemed to be very friendly. Will definitely be going back soon!

On a recent trip to lovely Skaneateles, my husband and I decided to try this place for a casual dinner. Absolutely the perfect choice! The wait staff were all pleasant and attentive and the food was excellent! I had a wonderful chicken sandwich that had been dipped in a lovely sweet spicy sauce and served with goat cheese melted on top. The greens included red kale and spinach, and the tomato was fresh from the garden! Dessert was amazing(certainly not necessary, but it was vacation!). A key lime custard served with«cinnamon chips» — crunchy pieces of tortilla? deep fried and dusted with a cinnamon sugar mixture for dipping. Totally recommend!

Yikes– Joe’s has really changed over the years. When I first dined here years ago, you were able to create a mix and match menu of pastas and sauces. Now, they have taken that off the menu because, as explained by our waitress, it was too difficult for the kitchen staff to do. The crab dip was good, but EXTREMELY oily and buttery. I had the pesto pasta with chicken and artichokes. The sauce was delicious, but my meal was comprised of more chicken and artichoke than pasta. Yes, the garlic knots are amazing, but I feel that Joe’s should either go back to their roots or add some more interesting choices to their menu in order for me to return.

Having grown up in Skaneateles, I remember when the place actually was a garage, it was neat to see it developed into a really nice restaurant. The restaurant itself has had a couple owners over the years(originally started by the owner of Rosali’s, the other Italian place in town), and has had a few different looks on the inside as well. Currently the atmosphere is great for either a family dinner or a date. The food is solid Italian, the pizzas are great. Salads on the menu make for a great meal for those a little more health conscious. They also have a great beer selection. It doesn’t rotate too often, but it definitely has some fun beers to try out. 4 stars because although the food is good, it’s not great. The bread knots definitely are a great way to start off a meal.

After eating here last week, I cant rate it very high. The décor was outstanding, service was great, food was so-so. My pasta dish was okay… nothing was wowing about it. nothing stood out to warrent a 4 star. I probably wont get back to Skaneateles again til next Sept 11 week and I think I would eat there again. Hopefully more tasty and new menu.

I love the décor of this place and the food is pretty good, too! The knots are incredible and I could eat an entire meal of just those. Their claim to having the best calamari in CNY is a pretty big one, but they’re definitely in the top three. :-) Their pasta dishes are unique and can be hit or miss taste-wise since they sometimes try weird things, but I think it’s pretty simple to look at the ingredients listed in the menu and decide if you like it or not. I love the create your own pizza and create your own pasta options(which I’m not sure if they have anymore; if you don’t Joe’s, you should!). I would definitely recommend this place to a friend visiting Skaneateles, it’s in a nice location with a bunch of shops and and views of the lake in easy walking distance!

Before we even got to the food, the thing I liked about Joe’s Pasta Garage was that the place has character. The stone front of the building outside just looks totally awesome, and the interior is welcoming with warm lighting and a comfortable atmosphere. The wait staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food was really great(and there was a lot of it!) The garlic knots were definitely good, though next time I would order some sauce to dip them in — that would have made them even better. I had the chicken scallopini and my husband had chicken mozzarella — both very much recommended. The desserts on the chalkboard looked great, but after the huge meal, we definitely did not have room for anything else. The only thing that was only so-so was the house salad. It was very good, but not remarkable. Everything else was top-notch. This is another of those cool places that we see when we’re out exploring a new town, and I always wish there was one like this back where I live. If I lived in Skaneateles, this would be a regular hangout. When we go back this way(which we inevitably will, since it’s only a little over an hour’s drive from Rochester) we will definitely go back to Joe’s Pasta Garage.

I got take out with my family from Joe’s a couple of weeks ago. I was really anxious to try their food(as I am a pasta lover). I got my default meal at most pasta places which is chicken alfredo, in this case broccoli chicken alfredo. It left quite a bit to be desired. It was just your basic alfredo sauce except it lacked in seasonings and flavor. The chicken also had no flavor or seasoning. It came with a side salad which was probably the saddest salad I’ve had from a restaurant in a long time. It was mostly large chunks of the white /yellow part of iceburg lettuce. Needless to say I didn’t eat it. On a positive note, the alfredo the next day didn’t seperate when I microwaved it and I think it actually turned out better than the first time around. My boyfriend ordered the meatloaf. It came with the same sad salad(except he ate his for some reason). He said the meatloaf was ‘eh’ which in his world means not so good. He told me that it was just your basic meatloaf, yet again lacked seasonings. All this being said, I think I will give them another shot, but I wouldn’t recommend either the alfredo or the meatloaf because of my experiences. I think I will try the pizza next time.
