Have only two suggestions for the chef. 1) Remove the salt and pepper shakers from the table. The food is well seasoned and needs no help. 2) Throw away your steak knives. The filet was so tender that a regular table knife was all that was needed.

I’ve wanted to try this place for a while and as today is my birthday, my wife took me for lunch. Nice inside but I don’t like music in a fine dining establishment. Smallish menu which is usually a good sign. The starter of Portuguese Prawns was fantastic. Garlic white wine chilies. Great start. Then soup. White bean and sausage. ok but not mind blowing. Opted for one of the specials as you can get a steak anywhere. Having gone from amazing starter to ok soup, we unfortunately went down to completely ordinary. Stroganoff. Could have been any beef stew. No big sour cream taste, not particularly well seasoned and the noodles didn’t seem to have been cooked with salt. My wife had the roast pork. I was suspicious when I saw it because the gravy looked as though it had set. I’m used to seeing gravy move about! Unfortunately the meat was bland and not as good as we’d hoped. The vegetables were the same tired old mix of squash and broccoli. Doesn’t anyone do interesting things with them anymore? No reason to return. Cross this one off my list!

When we moved into our new home, one of our family members gave us a gift card to this restaurant and assured us we’d enjoy our meal there. Well, a year later, more than a dozen visits to the restaurant and a couple«take-outs,» this is without a doubt my favorite place to go for a meal on the weekend. It’s a nice local, family owned place with a warm and inviting dining room. Prices are great, especially for the nice sized portions you receive. Dinner rolls are melt in your mouth delicious and the french onion soup here is one of my all time favorites(and I sample french onion wherever I go!). I’ve had several different entrees here but my two favorites are the broiled haddock with rice and veggies and lobster ravioli. As a native of Cape Cod, I’m pretty particular about my seafood and Daniels is always fresh, never frozen and perfectly prepared. Re: beverages, I’ve had cocktails here and wine and all have been fantastic. They have a great selection of reds and well priced specialty cocktails. We had a large party here once, 14 people, and the restaurant let us bring a few bottles of wine and charged us a nominal corkage fee. Since we’re big wine drinkers, this was much appreciated. Thank you Daniels for always knocking it out of the park!

I am not sure why there are so many good reviews. The food was average at best. The salad was very poor. Will not go back.

A good dinner at Daniel’s on Friday with good friends. My husband had the fried calamari to begin and it was delicious. We had to help him eat it, of course. The haddock dinner followed with a side of steamed veggies which was more then enough for one person. I had the western burger — boy was it big! It was piled with fried onions and bacon and served with what appeared to be homemade potato chips on the side. I ordered it done medium but it was not at all pink in the middle. Disappointing, but still good. The house salad consisted of mixed greens — nice size for a side salad. We stayed well into the evening and didn’t feel at all rushed. We will certainly be back!

LOVE this place — great service, great menu, great atmosphere. Their entrees are fantastic — good portions and a delicious flavor profile. I could eat their haddock dish every night — light, lemony sauce over a crumbly topping with fresh steamed veggies on the side.mmm. The Portuguese style shrimp are a must have appetizer. They also serve these delicious hot garlic dinner rolls that last about 5 seconds at our table because they are just so good. I agree with a previous reviewer — nothing ever disappoints at Daniel’s.

I only see positive reviews here and could not disagree more. The menu is limited, and has not really changed since this place opened. In addition, the quality of the food is at best, mediocre. The price is too high for the quality. The old Brian’s Creekside Inn was much more family friendly than this place. Bottom line, it’s a high Price for a limited menu and mediocre food. You are better off going to the Blue-water Grill in Skaneatles.

I highly recommend this place. It’s the nicest sit down restaurant from Fairmount to Marcellus. I took my fiancé to our anniversary dinner and she had crab stuffed shrimp and I had pot roast. We loved our dishes and the atmosphere was pleasant. The waitress was very nice and helpful, coming by our table to check frequently so she got a 30% tip.

A 30 minute wait went really fast. Great cocktails, cozy bar! Food and service were excellent! Timing of the meal was great, food was cooked perfectly and waitress checked on us twice allowing us to enjoy our meal. It’s a little dark but not unexpected on a Saturday night with a mostly adult crowd! We’ll definitely go again and bring friends the next time!

Great restaurant with excellent food and service. Daniel’s has become such a favorite for us that it is nearly a weekly staple for us. The Black Angus Burger is incredible. I’ve never had a burger that had so much flavor that I could eat it without condiments, but the Daniel’s black angus burger is about as perfect as it gets. Nothing ever disappoints at Daniels, even their own dinner rolls are fantastic.

Good food, but very limited on vegetarian options(e.g., house salad, 1 type of pasta, or pizza). I would like to see more vegetarian options on the menu. Otherwise, nice place.

Tried Daniel’s last night and like it. Pleasant space… a bit noisy perhaps but only because folks really seemed to be enjoying their dinner conversations. Prices are quite reasonable relative to quality. I had broccoli cheddar soup, which was excellent. Unlike the overly thick and pasty version served most places, this was more like a thin bisque with small chunks of broccoli and just a hint of cheddar. I had the 8 oz sirloin on ciabatta bread with blue cheese Merlot demi-glacé and rice on the side. It was exactly medium-rare as ordered and topped with thin rings of fried onions. I prefer the texture of a similar sirloin cut which is offered at the Scotch and Sirloin to what I was served at Daniel’s, but it was a decent piece of meat with good flavor. T he sauteed fresh veggies served with it were fantastic and the rice was nicely seasoned without being salty. My buddy had seared salmon baked with a walnut crust and some sort of cream sauce. It was fantastic — perfectly cooked and offered a perfect balance of flavor and texture contrast. Service was friendly and efficient… dining area and bathrooms were spotlessly clean. Total bill with tax was $ 40 and change for the two entrees, sides and one bowl of soup. Recommended and I think reservations are a good idea — it was pretty darn busy for a Tuesday evening.

Great atmosphere. Great service. Great food. I always hope to get to Daniel’s when I’m in town but that doesn’t always happen.

Excellent food at a fair price. Friendly, prompt service. Try the Farfalla a la Daniel — great pasta dish.

A good choice whether it’s dinner and drinks with friends or Mother’s Day brunch. The food tastes great and comes in huge portions. My standby here is the scallops & shrimp puttanesca, and it’s all I can do not to request Medevac service when I’ve finished eating it. The fried calamari take it over the top. The meat dishes are good as well. The servers are always friendly, and they take good care of you.
