We had a chance for an unplanned date nite and hoped The Inn could get us in. Not only did they have an opening but they were so happy to have us demonstrated by the warm smile and friendly welcome. Our waiter was fabulous! As an owner of a business that trains customer service and people skills and traveled extensively experiencing dining of many varieties I was so surprised to finally have a waiter that cared about us and delivered amazing personal service. He actually asked a few times«are you happy?» In a sincere way that made us feel if we were not he would fix it! The food was terrific and once John knew we had an unexpected date nite he asked if we would like to relax and just enjoy the time together in between courses! No rush no pressure no dirty looks because they want to turn the table over quickly. Nobody does that anymore!!! Finally a waiter that gets it! He is the type of waiter that paying a little more for dinner is more than worth it due to the great way you are taken care of. We need more waiters and waitresses like John. I am definitely requesting him on our next visit as I heard you can and apparently a lot of customers do! Proof positive that when you sincerely care about and engage with the customer they will be loyal customers thru thick and thin. Thank you John and team we loved our date nite!

We had such a wonderful time here last night. Our server Mallorie was friendly and helpful. The lobster bisque was rich, creamy, and delicious. Definitely not disappointed so we ended up taking some home. My tenderloin medallions were cooked perfectly and so tender. Presentation of all the dishes was very nice. It was our first time here but we will definitely visit again.

This is my favorite restaurant in my hometown. You won’t see a lot of reviews because the average age of the clientele is a tad bit older. Don’t let the fact that this is not THE«hot spot» keep you from trying this. They have the best tasting food-EVERY course. It is fine dining(not in the snooty way) so we come here as a treat or to celebrate a milestone of some sort. Every time I come I have to get the Tenderloin Medallions Neptune for my entrée. You won’t be sorry. I always say though get what you’re in the mood for. They have awesome appetizers including their French onion soup(spot on) and my fave, clams casino. Their preparation is incredibly consistent. The salads are also extremely flavorful and well done. Believe it or not their desserts are awesome as well if you still have room(make the room). Two more things to note: they start off with cold, fresh veggies & veggie dip. Also their butter and roles and/or date bread are delicious– don’t skip. I like the date bread as a dessert. Service is super friendly and warm. I love Lisa or John. I haven’t had a bad server yet come to think of it.

I hate to do this, but after having dinner here on Easter Sunday I can’t leave my previous five-star rating up on Unilocal. My mom wanted to treat our family to a nice meal, which cost her $ 300 for four people. The filet mignon had a dull, grayish color and almost no flavor. It was very obviously not fresh in the way that you expect a cut of meat at an expensive restaurant to be fresh. A year ago on Easter I had the prime rib, and it was similarly disappointing. The best I can say is that if you do eat here, don’t order any kind of beef. We won’t be going back. Tradition is nice, but we’re just not into being shamelessly ripped off.

Our first dining experience at the Inn Between was Valentine’s Day 2015. The service was professional and pleasant. Our male waiter was knowledgeable and sensitive to our needs. Every aspect of our dining experience from the cocktails, apetizers, entres and desserts were exceptional. We really enjoied the Chilean Sea Bass with mango butter sauce. We will return for another meal in the future.

I am giving this restaurant ONESTAR based on John the waiter. He is rude, obnoxious and thinks he is a comedian. Well he is not. The food is very good. Won’t be going back if he is still there.

The Inn Between continues to be a standard favorite for my husband and I. The food is excellent, from the crudités(and added something you won’t see at many restaurants), and a nice sized salad to a menu that is satisfying. Someone called it «old», I call it tried and true. Not everyone wants a menu full of items that they need to decipher — this menu is packed with awesome, beginning to end. As for the«obnoxious» waiter, that’s probably Johnny, another staple in the joint, either you love him, or honestly — you have zero sense of humor and should just be dropped off at the nursing home now. Go check out what the Inn has to offer, you won’t be disappointed!

I came here with someone special to celebrate her birthday. The restaurant has a reputation for being rather high end and I know it has been around a long time, so I thought we’d check it out. The food was definitely dated, but I can get over that. Dated doesn’t necessarily mean it’s bad. The selections were just very 1980s. Our server was unique. He was definitely loud and sort of obnoxious. And tried to be a comedian from the time we sat down. I know some other reviews mentioned obnoxious male wait staff and I can’t help but think this is the same person. It’s supposedly a fine dining restaurant, but in no way was his behavior commensurate with the environment. He even argued with another server in the middle of the dining room. I ordered the beef tenderloin medallions neptune. The server had touted it as «an award winning dish.» It won my personal award for worst dish I’ve ever spent $ 34 on. I don’t mind paying a lot for good food and a pleasant experience, but this was neither. The meat was grossly under seasoned and just gray. No sear whatsoever. It was definitely beyond the mid-rare that I had ordered. I’m not usually one to say something, but it was so bad that I did. I quietly explained the problem to the server. He walked over toward the kitchen and then shouted back across the dining room, in front of all the other diners, to follow him into the kitchen because he wanted to show me the meat was right. Very embarrassing and something you just don’t do. He brought me into the kitchen to try and prove me wrong by showing me the meat under different lighting. The cook on the meat was still way over. And like I said, just bland and gross. We had planned on ordering dessert, but this incident was the final straw. We just wanted to get out of there. Probably sensing we were not happy, he asked me on the way out if everything was ok. My date had continued on and I discreetly explained our issues with the food and service. To his credit, he did apologize. Will never go back here. Miserable dining experience. This is the first time I have ever written a negative review. I usually only use Unilocal to support the restaurants that I enjoy. This experience was so negative that I felt compelled to share.

We were here for a wedding reception, and friends let me tell you, the serving staff have done this before and were super as could be on doing their jobs. Then once every thing was set dinner was served, I eat a Ton of beef and let me tell you this plate of meat was the best I have ever had and I’m serious, the best ever, I only wish there was a spot where I could ask that kind of meat it was cut from and maybe the sauce he had on it. My wife had the stuffed chicken and it had a apple stuffing oh my she went on and on about how good it was! Friends you will not be sorry coming here!

I simply don’t understand the variations in views. Either lukewarm or excellent. This was my first time here but it certainly won’t be the last. The restaurant is elegant and the service friendly and helpful. I was amazed that the bar knew what a kir was so I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I could get one. The calamari starter special was excellent although maybe a touch less balsamic, however I’m really splitting hairs. The crispy duckling was exactly that. Good crispy skin, the right amount of delicious fat and perfectly cooked meat. A subtle herb stuffing accompanied it. Interesting wine list which was reasonably priced. Go for the Australian Barossa valley. Rich, deep complex and surprisingly under $ 30! Excellent desserts. Crème brûlée was vanillary and delicious. The Sea Bass was fresh and excellent. Not cheap, but who cares with these standards.

I went in a group of 10 people and we were sat in the back by the kitchen, which is not an ideal spot but it was fine. Our server was decent for the most part and our meals were great. The other servers were very welcoming and friendly, which made for a better experience. As our evening continued, our server became increasingly overwhelmed and flustered for whatever reason(I am not sure because we barely saw her or asked for any assistance after ordering/receiving our meals) and when we received our bill we had her split the check three ways. She had made an error and charged incorrect amounts to our credit cards and had to go back and fix it, which was when I heard her say«F***ing shoot me» as she walked away. We finally got our checks after waiting for 20 – 30 minutes. It is upsetting that our dinner was ruined because our waitress could not keep herself together especially since we had a big group they charged an 18% gratuity on our $ 500+ bill. Most likely not going to dine there in the future.

Dinner for four with some good friends. The dining area was nice, elegant in fact. The food was excellent with nice amenities including relish tray, warm rolls, a really nice moist brown bread. The beef Wellington, prime rib and roast duck were top notch. Our server was a woman and she was very good and did an excellent job for us. What somewhat spoiled the evening was some of the male wait staff were loud and obnoxious in the background. One of them even dropped the F bomb in a loud voice. Inexcusable in my opinion. I probably won’t go back. This alone keeps me from giving a higher rating.

Went there today somewhat cautious, as I had not been there for a long time. Boy was I surprised. The sign on the door said«fine dining» and that is EXACTLY what I got! Rolls, relish tray, and a limited yet somewhat varietal menu. I had one of their specials today, a seafood trio. Chilean sea bass, yellowfin tuna, and salmon. Steamed mixed veggies, twice-baked seasoned potatoes, with two asparagus shoots. Wonderful presentation, and exquisite tastes. Definitely one if my favorite fine dining spots in Syracuse. Can’t wait to return next time in town!

This restaurant has gone downhill severely. In the background we could hear the waiters making inappropriate comments towards some of the young woman at our table. This made for a very uncomfortable dining experience. The food here is very inconsistent, I cannot recommend this restaurant at all. It is a real shame because the atmosphere is romantic and slightly elegant. In the past we have had outstanding meals. I wish I could say the restaurant was still worthy of five stars. Today I give it half a star.

Always an excellent dinner! I can count on this Resturant to be consistent, professional and comfortable. I enjoy trying new restaurants, but when I don’t feel like taking a gamble with my dinner, I go to the Inn Between because I know it will be consistently good!

Good food with a nice atmosphere. Great Martini’s. Food is a bit over priced. The menu and décor need an overhaul. Adequate parking but no handicap accessibility ramps.
