What a nice surprise! Violin music and even with 20 people, it was not overly loud. Loved it!

Stopped in for a late Sunday brunch this past weekend. It seems the main strip in town lacks a simple burger joint. Had a lovely server and must say the burger was cooked perfectly! Aioli sauce and fries hit the spot! Not sure I would purposely head back here, but should I ever be in the area again, I would drop in! Also noteworthy, it’s a bit on the expensive end for a burger stop.

My husband, son and I had a great meal here last nite. It was after a high school graduation and it was fairly late(9 pm). The staff was very friendly, especially the waitress! We sat outside and the lighted tables/patio were beautiful. The food was great also!

We just had a fantastic dinner at this restaurant. We sat outside and despite the road noise, we had excellent service and food. All entrees were fabulous!!! Salmon, duck and soft shell crab were beautifully prepared with an outstanding presentation. Yes, a little pricy but worth it. Thank you for a memorable time!

It was to my surprise and extreme joy that I found out that Brasserie 73 has finally reopened it’s doors for deluxe and quality food and service. Although the restaurant has gone through a few changes I was happy to find that the manager James Lee was still working. Along with Jimmy, it was also exquisitely pleasing to find that they maintained other staff members such as Robert, the waiter and server. It seems as if they must have restaffed their kitchen, which isn’t necessarily bad. In fact, the quality of the food was even better this time around with their reopening. Along with the fantastic and delicious meal, it was served quickly and was plated amazingly.

Don’t waste your time or money. Saturday night and it’s empty. Food was barely edible. Sysco roll… bad sign. Poor wait staff. Two tables in there eating and the owner is hacking it up at the bar with a guy having a beer. It’ll never make it.

What an amazing experience we had last night. This place rivals the best in Phila. From the atmosphere, service and the food! We started with the Beet Salad on special which had one of the prettiest presentations, featuring the ever elusive watermelon radish(a first for me). My friend wanted Dave’s deviled eggs– not something I would have ordered but glad we did! Topped with the most amazing brown sugared bacon! Entrees included Scallops Coquille St. Jacques– again a very clever presentation with the Thyme to look like seaweed. Speaking of seaweed, the compliments of flash fried spinach and Kale were amazing. My friends Coq Au Vin was said to be the best ever. The third Entrée of Pa halibut with grilled cauliflower over pomegranate basil cous cous was the super star, just a burst of flavor. So happy to have this gem back and very glad to see the updated menu. I look forward to going back again for the french onion soup(a favorite, I’m told) and the Moules & Frites. The rack of Lamb special was also tempting and my dad is going to love the Duck! I also took home dessert as were full(these are full portions here) and am enjoying the spectacular bread pudding today! I cannot wait until the patio opens this spring. Beautiful Venue.

My boyfriend and I came here for dinner on a Saturday night, we shared the special crab cake appetizer which was one of the best I’ve even had. I got the salmon with lobster risotto and it was absolutely delicious, the salmon was seasoned and cooked just perfectly how it should be. My boyfriend had the fillet and the sauce along with the steak was very tasty. Overall we had a great experience, although, I wish the service was a bit better, the waitress seemed to just want to get the job done and that’s it she didn’t even ask if we wanted desert or recommended any drinks. I loved the food so I won’t let the service effect my review.

I’m sad to give this only 3 stars but I’ve had different experiences and the inconsistency really is an issue. It would be 2 stars based on my last visit but hope springs eternal. The brasserie is an up scale French restaurant with upscale prices and a very nice set up. My wife and I first went there for our anniversary a year or so back and had a wonderful time. expensive but on that special night, well worth it. we were so impressed we went back a few months later and wow. what a change. it wasn’t terribly crowded, there were 4 other guests in the place but still there was a long wait just to get menus then a long wait for courses. the ravioli’s I got for my appetizer were, side by side on the same plate– hot/warm and cold like they were micro waved badly. Certainly not cooked fresh, here’s no other excuse for the food, the same items on the same plate, to be different temperatures. I commented on this and the waiter just said«Oh, I’m sorry» and went off without offering any explanation or further comment. My main courses was very good but my wife found hers to be tough. and there was again a long, long wait. We started to wonder if the wait staff had wandered off, or maybe just died in the back without passing n his table to someone else. So this went from 5 stars to bad service and inconsistent food with a nice atmosphere and keeping the high end prices. for what they are charging, that level of service and consistency set against ther memory of prior visits was beyond disappointing.

Short story: do not go. Quite a few years ago, I ate here with my father and the experience was stellar. The food, service, and ambiance were great and the prices reasonable for what was delivered. Recently, I wanted to take a friend out for her birthday dinner, to someplace special, but it had to be nearby rather than a trip into the city. Do we go to our regular standby, guaranteed great place in Phoenixville, Majolica? We almost did, but she wanted to go somewhere she hadn’t been. I wanted to be sure it was someplace good. So we went to Brasserie 73 where I had been before, but she had not. Unilocal stars seemed intact. Mistake. The ownership has changed. Road House(in the same building) has merged with Brasserie 73 and is offering only one menu. The menu was expensive, so it was similar to Brasserie 73. But the food, while OK(and worth more than one star) was not worth the prices charged. Example? A cheese plate for the unlisted market price of $ 18 that came with an assortment of crackers out of a box. For $ 18 one would expect freshly baked flat bread or at least freshly toasted baguette slices. And something creative besides some random berries on the plate. And the cheeses seemed like things one might buy in bulk at Costco. A Danish blue, an Irish Cheddar, and Vampire Slayer which is at least a Pennsylvania cheese, but one that you can buy online for $ 12 for an entire 8 pound wheel. The duck I ordered was cooked well, but the sauce was uninspired and the presentation bland with the dull tan sauce and non-crispy skin on top of a mountain of mashed potatoes. I can’t even remember what the vegetable was. I do, however, remember the restaurant supplied an additional dining companion seated next to me, prominently, on the large expanse of window sill: a huge dead fly, legs up, that the waiter appeared not to notice the entire meal.

Had lunch today. Grilled chicken entrée wrapped in prosciutto, with provolone, spinach, roasted peps, and pesto. Came with potatoes and green beans. One of the greatest things I’ve ever tasted. Oh, and for 12 bucks? Phenomenal.

We ordered the jumbo lump crab salad; it wasn’t lump crab meat at all. Manager claimed it lost its lumps when mixed. Ha! Service is amateurish but sincere.

This was our first visit to Skippack and Brasserie 73 which is a delicious restaurant in a charming setting. The hostess was frazzled and it took a little while to take our coats and get us seated but once we were at the table everything was golden. There was a special menu for New Years Eve with plenty of choices for all of us. We all started with some excellent cocktails, delicious salads, & fresh baked sour dough rolls, for the entrée I had FIlet Au Poivre, Au Gratin Potatoes and haricot vert — everything was cooked perfectly. Others at the table had the ½ grilled chicken and the vegetarian pasta and another filet — everyone’s meal was delicious and to complete the night, coffee and the most amazing chocolate torte or light as air citrus napoleon. Chef John Zeggert absolutely knows his stuff! Great Food, Amazing Company, Lovely Ambiance… We will definitely be back!

When I first arrived at the restaurant we had to walk across a covered bridge that was beautiful which lead us to a gorgeous back patio. I look forward to see how the brasserie uses that space in the summer. We were immediately sat down when we arrived and the wait staff was very attentive. We started with a glass of red that was delicious! My first course was the French onion, one of my favorite soups. The broth was delicious and there was a healthy amount of onions, which I love. The bread could have been chopped a bit, but the type of bread used was perfect. For my main course I had the duck medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. I typically don’t order duck, but went outside my comfort zone and was rewarded with a delicious dinner. The sides were simple but tasty. They were definitely dwarfed by the meat. My mom had the chicken special. A grilled and roasted chicken smothered in a cream sauce. She demolished the chicken. I did get a bite or two of her chicken and I can understand why she finished it. It was so tender and juicy. Best chicken I had in a long time. Again, she had the same sides I did; mashed potatoes and green beans. They were simple and overshadowed by the chicken. Overall, the food was delicious and I would definitely go back. Also, they are having a ‘red envelope’ promotion. If you come back in January or February, you open your red envelope in the restaurant and could win a personal cooking night with the chef or even a gift certificate. I might have to come back to see what’s inside!

Visiting Skippack Village for the first time to sample the local vineyards fare at Winetober Fest(Thank you for the tix, Unilocal Philly), we finally had our fill and needed a place to get off our feet, and eat something. After a few hours surrounded by fellow inebriants(have you ever been someplace where the entire ville is drunk?) we found Brasserie 73 in the center of town. Even before walking in the door we passed a large patio out front. Had it been a warmer evening, that would have been our choice. However, dining inside was an exceptionally pleasant experience. The bar/dining room is large, with high ceilings, dark woods, and a definitely continental air. We had a corner table under the front windows where we could watch the winding down of the festival out on the street, while we admired the old world elegance within. Service was good with a knowledgeable waiter and bustling staff. The meal started off auspiciously with a very seasonal Pumpkin Bisque presented inside a locally grown pumpkin. It was very nicely done with a creamy base and lots of veggies, sunflower seeds and bacon. Really tasty! The Salade du Maison was a spring mix with a light balsamic dressing. Also decent. We waited a bit longer than expected for the shared main course, Farfalle with Jumbo Shrimp, Tomato, Sundried and regular, Artichoke, Fennel, and Basil. This dish was underwhelming given the ingredients, and what came before it. It felt flat and lifeless. I inquired of our wait person about the inconsistency in the quality of the dishes. He was prepared for it. He explained that the establishment had gone through 3 ownership changes over the past few years, which accounted for changes in philosophy and ability. There was a Head Chef change a few weeks ago. They now had a primo chef from Philadelphia who was still using the old menu, and creating specials to complement it. The new menu was not yet ready, so we were caught in the middle of the changeover. The bisque was his baby — creative, rich and savory. The pasta was off the old menu, and lacked energy. If you read the other reviews beginning several years ago, you can see the ups and downs of the evolution here. The new menu will be installed by November 1, 2013. I recommend everyone wait until after that date to come for a big meal or a party. Before that, pay attention to the specials, as ordering off the old sheet will likely prove disappointing. Still, a beautiful place to dine. Great wine list. Wonderful space. High prices.

Went for Brunch this past Sunday only to find out no more Sunday Brunch. Since the weather was so beautiful and they had tables set up on the patio we stayed for lunch. My hubby had the quiche of the day, asparagus and mushroom, which he said was good. I had the Croque Madame also good… service was very good never having to ask for coffee refills

Went for brunch last week. Love their rich lobster bisque which is made even more decadent by topping the entire crock with puff pastry. Wish I could top it with some truffles ;-) Their take on eggs Benedict was superb with croissants substituting the English muffins. The crabmeat supplement I added consisted of huge hunks of jumbo lump crab.

Find this cozy bistro and wine bar smack-dab in Skippack. It has a elegant rusticness to it, that is, if you consider a rustic meal complete with a glass of white zinfandel. A few folks and I lunched outside, enjoying jazz tunes, personable service, and outstanding fare. Everything was exquisitely presented and equally delectable, from the salads to the sandwiches; the shrimp ravioli was bewitching. Go now, and splurge on the three course prix fixe lunch($ 32), where you get a starter, entrée, and dessert.(Tell them that I sent you, and ignore their confused looks.)
