My husband and I frequently go here. The fish is always flavorful and cooked well. The bread and olive oil dipping sauce are so good. I need to create a copycat recipe of that dipping oil! I also recommend their signature bang bang shrimp. The only downside is that it has the feel of a chain restaurant and I wish the menu was a little more creative.

I have to agree with the other reviewers about the bang bang shrimp. I ordered some on a Wednesday evening,(to-go) on their half price day just to taste it and it was pretty ok. It would’ve been better if some of my shrimp didn’t still have small pieces of the shell and/or tails mixed in some of the batter… yuck! The shrimp had a nice light, crispy batter, and seasoned well. However, the sauce looked like thousand island dressing in a small cup. It didn’t have much kick at all which, was still cool. Now, the nice bread roll that came with it with the oil and herbs was the winner! My order was plentiful and also came with a small bag of romaine lettuce, I’m guessing if I wanted to make a salad. It was nice. I’d order it again. I just hope, next time without the shells/tails.

Get the bang bang shrimp appetizer, mondo rad flavor and great serving size. Crab cake appetizer not so mondo. Lobster tail small and pricey, wouldn’t do it again. My wife had the salmon special(Norwegian?), she liked it. I’ll definitely go back here and try more of the menu.

We returned and it has been a little while since our last visit. The place is as popular as ever due to their good food values here. Reservations are recommended, and they now have 11am –3pm lunch hours also. We tried their famous bang bang shrimps for the first time, and it was delicious and a great value as a $ 6 adder to our dinners. The lightly breaded Asian flavored shrimp were plentiful, and served over a nice submerged bed of greens. We also had their special Hooked on Tuesday menu — a 3 course salmon dinner for $ 14.90, and a 3 course Fontina pork chop dinner for $ 17.90(and each including two sides as well). We got the cheesecake and Jamaican coconut pie for our respective desserts. The coconut pie was a standout not being too sweet, and coming with an unusual and particularly nice rum sauce. Our server was Shawntay(sp) and she was genuinely friendly and attentive. Complimentary bread was hot and fresh. I also liked that all the glassware and salad plates were ice cold. Overall, quite a nice dinner at a great price for all that we had. Due to the typical crowd size, the dinner pace can be on the slightly slower side, and the pace was just fine for us but don’t expect a super quick meal if you come here. I also learned a little more about the Bonefish Grill chain. We chatted with the friendly and gregarious manager David S. who has been at this location for 2 years. Apparently Bloomin’ Brands company owns this chain, and I learned that they also own Carrabbas, Fleming Steakhouse, and Outback Steakhouse. From what I have experienced at Carrabbas and Outback, I like this restaurant family, as they all provide plentiful meals at a good value, and I’m a fan. I look forward to trying Fleming’s Steakhouse one day.

Been meaning to write this for awhile so I figured now was as good a time as any. This is one of the best seafood restaurants in the area. The seafood is fresh, they have a nice selection but still keep the menu simple. They also have a kids menu that satisfies my picky eater not an easy feet I assure you. Also the service is great. They are friendly and attentive. My favorite things to get here are the bang bang shrimp or the mussels both are so yummy. I also love the fact that they have both grilled fish for when you are feeling healthy and totally indulgent choices for when you’re not. They have reasonable prices too as well as delicious drinks. All in all a winner.

For a chain restaurant this place has really good food the Bang Bang Shrimp are to die for their Hawaiian drink is really really good. The bread that they serve you with the oil and a hint of basil and garlic is really really good too! I especially love their flourless brownie with ice cream its to die for!

Our latest excursion to Bonefish seems to have been a flip flop of our last experience here, where service was hit or miss, but the food(when it actually arrived) tasted decent. We were quoted a 30 – 40 min wait time on a Friday around 6:45pm. A high top communal table at the bar opened up before our buzzer went off(but still after waiting 30 min), so we dined there, though it seemed there was only 1 waitress for the entire bar area, so things moved in slow motion. Also, why do they hand out buzzers if a physical human being walks the waiting area calling your table’s name anyway? Also also, it doesn’t seem to be very efficient here bc we saw 3 – 4 open tables for a while before anyone was seated there, even though there were multiple parties in the waiting area. It took our food a good 30 – 35 min to arrive. The waitress had come by to say it would be out in a couple min, but clearly she didn’t know that to be true bc it took 10 min after that. My Parmesan pecan crusted rainbow trout was hot temp wise and flavorful, and I enjoyed the jasmine rice and sautéed spinach sides. My husband got salmon, which he liked.

One word… MUSSELS! We were in the area and my boyfriend’s mom couldn’t stop talking about the mussels. For $ 10 you get SOMANYMUSSELS that are accompanied with tomatoes and onions in a creamy lemon butter sauce! So good and you get so much for your money. I got the Bang Bang shrimp which everyone raved about on Unilocal. It was very good! $ 10 as well, it’s an appetizer, and I loved the spicy mayo! They had great lunch specials and a big menu. The manager was catering to our table along with our friendly waiter; definitely will be back!

Came here as a family and the ambiance inside was welcoming. There is a bar seating area and a dining area. They seated us quickly and our waitress was great. She was quick and friendly. Now on to the food, none if us liked out main course but the side dishes were amazing. Also the bang bang shrimp like all the other reviews were amazing. So come here for some great side dishes. The main dish sheaths it was fish or steak none of liked it. The truffle mac and cheese was a favorite, along with the Cole slaw and mashed Potato and the wild rice.

This place is nothing to brag about, customer service was good nice ambience. My friend says that she loves this place and that they have great food I would say that they are just OK nothing to write home about. They do a good job with explaining the menu making sure that every detail of the selections are clear. So I decided to order the bang bang shrimp. It is shrimp on a bed of lettuce and to my surprise this was very very good. I went with the cobia fish with spinach and green beans. The fish was ok a little firm for my taste but it was good, the spinach was ok the green beans were not seasoned which was ok but had no flavor. This is a place that I would only recommend for the bang bang shrimp only if you are in the neighborhood. I would not return I have had better seafood.

Zero for two on visits here, both times it was the waitstaff. Chatty with other tables yet inattentive to ours. I guess if you don’t order right away you fall out of the rotation, and the servers must have their regulars. The bang bang shrimp kicks ass but we give up on this location at least.

I was very happy with my most recent visit here with my cousin! Despite not having made a reservation on a Friday around 5pm, we were able to be seated quickly despite this old couple cutting in front of us in line… We had an amazing waiter-Jae K who made some very yummy recommendations-Bang bang shrimp and artic char(which was a very close to my favorite fish-salmon)! Can’t go wrong with the Caesar salad with either salmon or chicken(grilled chicken was moist and tender same with salmon!) The sweet spicy Asian sauce adding more flavor to the calamari and the signature sauces I liked are the pan asian sauce and mango salsa! Unfortunately, the lemon butter and the lime garlic sauce doesn’t add much of any flavor in my opinion to the artic char… French fries were crunchy and potatoes au gratin was actually OK– just not crazy about cheese…

We’d stayed away for a number of years after having a Saturday night reservation for 6:30 and not being seated until after 8:30 because management had no idea how to teach his staff to move customers along and really didn’t care. Now the new staff and management seem to have it down beautifully. The bang bang shrimp didn’t seem as spicy as we’d remembered which was fine as they were delicious. The caesar salad was cold, crisp, cheesy, garlicky and fabulous. We had the ahi tuna, fish tacos and fish and chips and all were wonderfully plated and just perfect. Our waitress, Carol, was warm, welcoming, fun, and a credit to the restaurant. We’ll be back more often now.

We had my daughter’s rehearsal dinner here 3÷18÷16. I had been in contact with Dave for months, he was amazing to work with. He had lots of great suggestions, we had dessert we wanted to bring so he offered appetizers instead of desserts on our per-person menu. We received a phone call the day before to confirm our reservation, even though I’d been in constant contact with Dave, this showed me they were on the ball. We had a group of 17. The table arrangement was great, it was in an «L» shape, perfect for our small crowd, and we were situated in the very back of the restaurant, which in our case was desirable. Everyone loved their food, from the steak(done perfectly) to the salmon to the shrimp and scallops. The waiters were amazing and never missed a beat on anything. Dave then came out and I finally got to meet the man behind the voice. He was just super great to work with and is the consummate professional. Very personable and charming. Bonefish is lucky to have him.

Not necessarily a fan of the bang bang shrimp, but the thai coconut shrimp are pretty darn good and the corn chowder with lump crab is all one needs on a cold chicago winter night. That and the fact that they always have a full bar with reasonable drink prices, I was able to find a porter that was good and the wife was able to choose from one of their cocktail specials. It was just what was needed while out taking the wife shopping for Valentines day ;) And for a Saturday night on Valentines Day weekend, immediate sitting at the bar was a brilliant and painless way to enjoy a little quality time.

Always impeccable service, fresh seafood and overall great dining experience. Their bread and olive oil with pesto is addicting. The Bang Bang shrimp is our fave especially on wed when they’re $ 6. So tasty with just a kick of spice. We’ve even had it with sauce on the side for my daughter and it was just as good just without that kick. The Macadamia nut brownie is a must try. So moist and delish. Their rewards program is decent. 4th meal is 50% off or $ 20 off. It gets pretty busy, so going at off times is ideal.

Called up and asked for an order of plain steamed mussels without garlic or butter. Was told they could do it. Got there 10 minutes after they were supposed to be ready and waited another 15 minutes watching 4 people at the hostess station doing nothing while the 1 person who apparently was dealing with carryout orders dealt with someone in front of me. Got home and saw that we got the garlicky buttery mussels Josephine which was not what we ordered. Last time we try to carryout anything that isn’t a specific menu item.

Yes we know it’s a Bloomin Outback Steakhouse sister company, but you can’t hold that against it. For super fresh and reasonably priced seafood this is the place. If you are lucky enough to have one in your neighborhood, I am sure it will be a go to place. We automatically start off with the bang bang shrimp until we make up our mind on fish of the day. Fish tacos are great too. It’s casual, and the service is prompt. Make a reservation if you are on bang bang shrimp Wednesday or a weekend day.

Convenient location, very good service, the food is fine for a chain. I’m giving a 4 because I’ve been here at least 7 to 8 times. I can’t put my finger on it but I keep coming back for more. Perhaps it’s the bang bang shrimp — it sounds cool and it’s really tasty with an Asian sweet and sour flair. I also really look forward to the complimentary bread and dark ambience. The place is constantly packed and the bar area attempts to be hip and cool for after hours camaraderie.
