The one thing I admire in a restaurant is consistency. I spoke glowingly about my liver and onions«cheat», so I went back for it the other day. Last time terrific. This time lousy. Without getting into details, the gap between the preparation of the same dish was light-years apart. Unappetizing, borderline inedible. I’ll try it one more time to see if it was just an off day. But when you go to lettuce entertain you restaurants, they are usually not exceptional, never terrible, and you always know exactly what you’re going to get. I believe that’s a virtue, and I don’t feel like playing liver and onions roulette.

Oh man I think this place is great — Gibson’s-style steaks at a much more attainable price point. The char broiled steaks are amazing, and tasted just as good to me as the same places that charge 66−100% more for the same cut of meat. I will definitely go here again for special occasions!

We had my sister’s baby shower here and it was fantastic. We first met with Youbi(the manager) to set up the event — pick the menu, work on the room layout, etc. He was always very friendly and very accommodating, you could tell that he wanted us to be happy and was very conscious of all the details. The day of the event everything fell into place perfectly. The room was set up just how we wanted and the waitstaff could not have been more friendly. Everyone was so nice. Most importantly, the food was delicious. For appetizers we had the bruschetta and stuffed mushrooms which were really good. The entrees were so tasty and fresh — we had choice of filet, salmon and chicken and everyone talked about how good there food was. I had the salmon and it was yummy. I definitely will be back for dinner or their Sunday breakfast.

We waited over 25 minutes before being acknowledged by waitstaff. Fifteen minutes later a hostess apologetically stepped up to wait on us-still no drinks though. She was terrfic, cleverly taking our soup order before our entrée order so we could be eating sooner. We were also brought a complimentary appetizer-that soothed things over. The soup and salads were good, the steaks were good, nothing was exceptional. You would think that a restaurant next to a theater would what time shows were running and staff accordingly. They blamed the holiday for being short staffed but also admitted that they didn’t know about that evenings performance schedule and didn’t cook enough prime rib to meet the extra demand. Overall, the delightful hostess saved the evening.

Good food. Good service. Food was a little slow coming out, however it was during Passover that we were there and they offered us matzah! We liked that. They were also very accommodating for our big group.

Stayed at the Doubletree for a few days while on a business trip. Jameson’s was attached to the hotel so i decided to try it out. Both times i dined in the bar and both times i had a great experience. The bar tender was a bit over worked and at times forgot about me but it was not like he did not care he was just busy. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Place has a very high end feel and i would definitely go back.

I love the restaurant. Such a great place. People are great. Managers are great. Service is great. Food is GREAT. I love coming to Skokie ILJUST for Jameson’s Charhouse. OK — Why not 5 stars y’all deserve? No lie — Like with the exception of a few very highly alcoholic Belgian and other beers(over 15% abv), draft beer should be served in a real 16 oz or Imperial pint glass. Espeacially at the prices Jameson’s charges. That’s the truth. The little 10.5 oz snifters are chintzy cheap and no good trickery. I don’t like that at all. You lose a full star for that crap. And I love you guys. If I didn’t love you’d be getting 1 star for that.

We ate here when we stayed at the Doubletree because it was the only restaurant in the area still open when we checked in. Our expectations weren’t high, and we were still sorely disappointed. The food is low quality and overpriced — a bad combination.

We ate here twice while staying at the Doubletree. The service staff is very friendly. They are quick to get out drinks and all the dishes we tried were delicious. Their tiramisu is DEVINE! Who would have thought the hotel restaurant had the best food?!

Not overly impressed. The best part of our experience was that the soup came out at a palatable temperature and not like hot lava, if that tells you anything. Our waitress did not know the menu, nor did she speak clear clear English. I’m not usually a critic on the waitress but this was just bad. Food was ok but not what I would expect for a place that has good ambiance and attached to a double tree that is very nice.

First time at this location. We had reservations before a show next door. there was a 15 min wait even with the reservation. BUT what great customer service! The manager was very apologetic and bought us 2 rounds of wine! This was very nice. The food was good. Nothing outstanding, but nicely prepared and certainly tasty. The place was busy because of the preshow crowd but our server was very good and again the manager could not have been nicer! thanks for making a nice evening

I am so satisfied with my experience at Jameson! The food is reasonably priced and delicious. I ordered the Northshore Club. It came with lentil soup and bread… which I have never eaten«lentils» before but I would sell my first born for that soup. I subbed out the fries for mashed sweet potatoes that the waiter recommended… such a good recommendation!!! They were absolutely delicious. The service was impeccable and I only spent 15 $ which was such a good price for how much food I received! Great experience. Will be back again over my 2 weeks here in Skokie!

Attached to the Doubletree, so I wound up having a few meals. Despite being somewhat expensive, quality in the food items is definitely lacking. The first time was for a seafood pasta dish, whereupon the mussels(which I usually hate in dishes because they are not) were done well, but everything else, including the pasta somewhat, was overdone. I did get patches of pasta that was done well, but overall this was kind of a gloppy, bland mess. Breakfasts ranged from acceptable — smoked salmon & bagel with industrial sized capers, which threw off the flavor balance I was trying to achieve — to much less so — such as the bacon that was so overdone, it was borderline crumbling. Eggs and potatoes were ok. I went for over-medium, because I didn’t find this to be a trustworthy kitchen and got over-easy, which is my preference anyway. Again, this is all pretty overpriced. There is also a full bar here, which is nice to have. Not a lot of greatness on tap and the ambiance is definitely lacking, but it’s fine for one of those. Iced tea was ok as was the hot, but again, nothing too striking in one way or another. This place really wants to be high end and charges high end, but doesn’t execute anywhere near at that level. Boiled down, this is an option, if you’re staying in the hotel, but not much more.

I brought my husband and family here for his birthday last year and we all enjoyed it.(Hubby had a huge steak and loved it!) We’ve been back two more times for enjoyable date nights, where we’ve enjoyed things like the calamari, Caesar salad, french onion soup and burgers. They also have drink specials 5 – 7 in the bar. Good martinis! Tonight we went for Sweetest Day dinner, and despite having a reservation, had to wait about 20 minutes for our table. We were given glasses of wine complimentary while we waited, so that was nice. We enjoyed an appetizer and more drinks before the standard soup and salads that come with every entrée. We had a rib eye and a prime rib, both with our choice of potato and vegetable, and both were cooked to perfection. Service was good. And while it can be pricey, it was an enjoyable evening, well worth it.

I have kind of mixed feelings about this place. I’d never been before but my mom had been years ago and remembered it being good. We had a good time but I just can’t really see myself going back. The overall appearance and ambience is average. Walking in, I wasn’t thoroughly impressed. I’ve worked in the hospitality industry for over 10 years now so I notice every little thing. It seemed like the type of place that tries to look classy but doesn’t quite get the job done. We had a booth but the seats were a little sunken and the table a little wobbly and higher than normal. My mom was set on having prime rib and once we’ve sat down and been looking at the menu for a few minutes, our server comes out to say there is no prime rib left. Bummer. I did like that each entrée came with accompanying items so the pricing was definitely moderate and worth it given how much food you’re given. The soup was average, nothing special. The side salads that came with the entrée were piddly and I only ate half because the lettuce didn’t seem super fresh. I ordered a cocktail that was SOSTRONG I could barely drink it but I’m not the type to send things back so I dealt with it. The bread was warm and fresh, right out of the oven, so we enjoyed that. I ordered chicken marsala, which was very tasty as well as the mashed potatoes, which I opted to have instead of rice. The veggies that came with seemed okay but I didn’t each much because I don’t like cooked carrots. My dad ordered a large salad which he liked, and my mom ordered tuna tartare which she said was okay. It was a ton of food so we didn’t even look at a dessert menu. The service was prompt but the staff seemed overworked and overwhelmed. It was fairly busy but nothing that should be unmanageable so I’m not sure what was going on there. The restaurant was a bit noisy so we had to talk loud to hear each other.

Ordered off the menu for breakfast. Ordered 2 eggs/potatoes/bacon breakfast & it was okay. They offer a breakfast buffet but it didn’t really seem worth it.

I’ve eaten at a couple of the other Jameson’s locations and I’d say that the food is pretty much consistent from location to location. I dined in for Easter and had the Sunday special which was the prime rib, and I really liked it. I would probably order it again. It also came with the per usual soup and salad — the salad is small but fresh and the soup is nothing more than average. Overall, the meal was pretty good. Jameson’s is

This is not a foodie destination. It is a dependable Chicago area steakhouse, probably run by a 5th generation Greek family. Plenty of well prepared food, at a decent price. We go to this location when we go to performing arts center, next door. Shared parking lot. It is in the Doubletree hotel. Go for a steak, fish, or just a cocktail and appetizer.

I have not been here in a while. Great job on the interior renovations! There is a lot of good items on the menu but I settled on the smoked turkey breast sandwich, piled high with bacon, lettuce, tomato and sliced avocado all on a toasted whole wheat bread — very yummy and it came with french onion soup! I also tried the southern ice tea and it was great. Easy parking. P. S. I also heard that on Sundays they offer lunch menu all day; however I think you have to ask for the lunch menu if you come later in the day.
