Tried Blaze’s Pizza last week and it was delicious. I wanted to give Pie 5 a shot! So many options! Got the 10.99 bundle(pizza, side salad, and beverage). The pizza I got was the Windy City Works crispy artisan thin crust. Wasn’t bad but a little too salty. Salads were alright. It’s pretty cool that they got their own rewards program for exclusive deals and free pies. I like Blaze’s slightly better but I’ll come back and try the pesty chicken alfredo. The best part was the dessert to finish the full meal. Very sweet!

We ordered salads because the sign on the wall said«All of our salads come in our pizza crust bowl», we were informed by the cashier that they no longer offer that but still charge $ 6.99 for a so called dinner salad that wasn’t much larger than a side salad. I feel a little short changed. Would have liked to go back some time to try their pizza but after this, I won’t bother. There’s enough pizza places in town that are very good, probably better. I’ll stick to Panino’s. What makes this place so special?

I like that you can make your own pizza for $ 6.99 — which includes whatever toppings you want(unlimited). There are a variety of crust and sauce options as well. This restaurant is quite spacious and has excellent customer service. It’s impressive that your special order pizza is ready in under 10 minutes. One of the other reviewers said the pizzas are a step above a frozen pizza and I think that’s a pretty accurate assessment. While the novelty of being able to buy a quick special order pizza is nice… if I have the time, I would much rather eat at Giordanno’s, Aurelios, or Lou Malnati’s.

How did I not review this place? I could have sworn that I did. Anyway, this place is my jam. I went here initially because I had a coupon for a free pizza when they first opened. The next day my parents came to visit and I took them there. They were obsessed as well. The variety of options here is on point(see my photo for their topping options). As a vegetarian, I love that they have a lot of veggie options so that I feel like I get my money’s worth. This place is on my way home from work, so I tend to stop by if I’m too lazy to cook. But, they have a loyalty card program so yay for being able to earn free pizzas. It makes me feel less guilty. Also, a HUGE thank you to them for having a separate pizza cutter for vegetarian pizzas. I was seriously surprised and grateful when I saw them bust out the green handle cutter after verifying that I ordered a vegetarian pizza. I’m super paranoid about cross contamination because it’s been so long since I’ve had meat that I’m irrationally concerned that it would make me sick to accidentally have food that’s touched meat products.

Came here today because I had a BOGO coupon that was about to expire. The pizza tastes slightly better than frozen pizza and they don’t have a wide variety of toppings. If you want a build your own pizza, nothing compares to 800 degrees in Evanston for just a couple bucks more.

I’d never been before but I was in the area with a friend and she was a big fan so I decided to swing through. Cute little place. I ordered the bbq chicken pizza. It was fine. I would say it’s fairly standard fair for a bbq chicken pizza, although heavier on the bbq sauce than some other places. Not sure if that’s good or bad depending on your tastes. My friend made her own pizza(can’t recall what) and devoured every ounce so I have to assume it was pretty darn good. Lot’s of options, lots of combinations. Not sure I’d go out of my way to come here from the city, but definitely worth a swing if you’re in the area. Also very reasonably priced!

Echo the Chipotle of pizza sentiment. I’ve tried several of their menu pizza’s and built my own. I especially like the spicy marinara, buffalo and alfredo options for sauces. Toppings are unlimited and you aren’t charged extra for premium ingredients. My kids love it too which is a plus. Kids pizza’s are smaller, cheaper and they enjoy watching their pizza get made.

Pie 5 is wonderful. Where else can you get a delicious crust and have it piled high with as many veggies as you want(plus meat and stuff), and not get charged extra? We’ve had both the regular crust and the wheat thin crust. Fans of both. Wife and I split the regular. Toppings are always on point, service is always friendly, price is always reasonable. One of our favorite quick eat places!

Ordered a basic Margherita. They skipped the basil on the pizza, but drizzled heaps of chimichurri-type of olive oil, crushed garlic and basil flecked mixture in the pizza. I asked twice for the basil. Guess they didn’t hear me. It’s as basic as it gets, it’s really hard to mess up yet they managed to turn me off. Taste was meh. And it doesn’t come with any marinara sauce so please be sure to request it. And the crust had the airy consistency and taste of a large saltine cracker. I do love the concept and the turtle brownie tho. If you like warm, tasty pizza with friendly service, Blaze Pizza has the same concept and they do it better. Sorry.

I came here once because I realized I had a coupon for a free pizza at Pie Five Pizza. The experience really reminded me of Blaze Pizza since it had the Chipotle style layout of choosing toppings and sauces. There was a wide variety of toppings and you could choose if you wanted thin crust or a pan pizza. I was surprised by how cheap the pizzas were for the size you ordered. Personally, I think two people may be able to split a pizza. You can also choose what type of sauce you want for the pizza and ranges from spicy marinara or just regular sauce. Words of caution though, the spicy marinara is REALLY spicy. The restaurant is very spacious and interior is pretty cool. I also ordered a slice of cookie pie, which was extremely sweet! Probably won’t be ordering that again.

It’s almost like a Chipotle for pizza but not as good. They have a decent selection of ingredients and their sauces taste pretty well made. I think you get your money’s worth. Portion sizes are good. I just wish they took better care of actually making the pizzas. The people making mine carelessly threw my toppings on. I would’ve given a worse review if the taste and selection didn’t live up.

In the last month or so I’ve been eating quite often at one of their competitor’s, Blaze Pizza. The two are synonymous in their offerings. However one pales over the other in execution. If you like fast food pizza companies like Little Caesar’s, Pizza Hut and Domino’s, this is another that would be up your alley. What I like. Their ability to offer the same kind of «Chipotle-style» in how you want your pizza made. Pie Five offers a few more options than Blaze in areas like, types of crust and sauces. Beyond that, when its down to flavors presented, the competitor Blazes ahead. For decent pizza on the go, this will feed the starving stomachs of children with ease. You can opt to let your kids«go to town» on ordering their own pizzas(giving them some accomplishment) and giving you some as well, because of the ease the final cost will be. Compared to Little Caesars or Domino’s, I can’t fathom why anyone would continue to order from a fast food pizza joint.(Everyone should be aware that fast food pizza uses 50% fake toppings. Google the Food babe blog) Finally, about that odd«pizza crust bowl» offered with salad. Pie Five says it’s «famous», how so I often wonder. The amount of salad that would be contained in it is next to nil. Maybe a hand full for $ 3 dollars? Instead order a side salad(in a to go container), it is the better option and the price advantage.

This pizza sucks. I do not say that lightly. I don’t think I’ve ever even uttered those words before. I should’ve known when I saw them pull out their frozen looking dough that it was not going to be good. I gave it a chance because I was starving and it was pizza– the most impossibly delicious food. I saw them stick my order in a miniaturized, conveyer belt pizza oven. Not good. Not good at all. I’m a simplest. Cheese is usually my thing, on a special occasion I may ask for pepperoni. When I can’t finish a relatively small cheese pizza, something has gone horribly wrong. It reminds me most of Pizza Hut style pizza in the sense that it tastes like greasy cardboard. I cannot come up with one redeeming quality. If you’re in the area and craving pizza, go to Mariano’s. They have an actual fire oven to cook your pizza in.

Decent, quick pizza with a wide choice of ingredients. I like that it is one price for as many ingredients as you want. It is fun to create your own combos without looking at the tab running up. I agree that the edible salad bowl is kind of lame, but if you stick with the pizza, you will have lots of options. They are new and still tweaking the service, but in general, it is a quick and tasty stop for a reasonable price.

Good pizza for a good price. Nice and fresh and tastes great. I’ll tell you this is tastes way better than blaze pizza. Although the pizzas here are a little smaller, I would trade quality over quantity any day. I got a ½ BBQ chicken pizza and ½ pepperoni, ham, and bacon with spicy marinara. They have plenty of ingredient options and theyre made hot and fast. And on top of all the pan crust is real good! I love a pizza with a good crust!

Wow I thought Blaze Pizza was delicious and groundbreaking but Pie Five blows it out of the water for two reasons: 1. Pizza is SO much more customizable than at Blaze — they have more crust variety(artisan thin, pan, etc.) and many more sauces(buffalo ranch, BBQ, etc.) on top of the usual marinara and Alfredo options. 2. There are many more signature/pre selected options if you don’t want to create your own. You’ll have a similar experience at both restaurants but if you really want some diversity in the crust and sauce options go to Pie Five!

I am not the biggest pizza eater. I try to live the gluten free lifestyle. But I heard about this place and people referred to it as the subway of pizza. I was intrigued. I was also pleasantly surprised to see they offered a gluten free crust to choose from. Sign me up! Anyway, the set up was interesting. A new concept on such an I’m fashioned food. I am a fan. Make the za of your dreams. Or tackle whatever cravings you may have. This place let’s you mix and match anything and everything! The employees working the line were friendly and patient. Very sociable. I ordered gluten free, and they pulled out new tools and new gloves just to not contaminate. I felt bad bc it’s a preference not an allergy. But the ones with allergies will appreciate it. The woman working the register was super friendly, polite, and just a blast of sunshine. The pizza itself. Probably one of the best Gluten free crusts I’ve had. I tried what others I was with had and it was all Damn good. The flavors, freshness, taste, and portion control. I welcome this place and I will be returning to mix and match whatever pizza concoctions I can think of.

Yum! This place is like chipotle, but instead of burritos, the place makes specialty personal pizzas. They have multiple different type of crusts and lots of different ingredients for the pizza, such as bell peppers, spinach, bacon, olives, and many more! They also have made to order salads and some cookie pies! I had the chicken carbonara with added spinach on the Neapolitan whole wheat with flaxseed crust. The boyfriend had his buffalo chicken pizza on the artisan thin crust in which he rated it 4⁄5 in deliciousness. They also have thick crust and gluten free options as well! Also they have a rewards card there. Each pizza is 2 points and if you register the card online, you get 10 points! At 20 points, you get a free pizza! My only complaint is that service was a bit slow… I am a fan and I will be back soon!

I was here for a sneak peak and my daughter loved the pizza I brought home, so I convinced my husband to try it with us one the day they officially opened last week. He loved it! He’s not a fan of Chicago-style or pan pizza, so their artisan thin was perfect for him. My daughter loved coming in and designing her own. While they have a good variety of signature pizzas, I enjoy designing my own as well, and have other sauce and ingredient combinations that I’d like to try. We got one side salad for her and an Italian for hubby and me to split. Both were very good and rounded out our meals nicely. I also went crazy and ordered a whole cookie pie to take home. It was much too much for 3 people, but that’s my fault! Note to self: Next time a slice will be sufficient! I do have two suggestions: 1) Somehow improve the sound quality. They have a large glass separating customers on one side and the workers and ingredients on the other, and when there’s a line it’s noisy and hard for them to hear us. I practically had to shout, which was annoying. 2) I also think delivering orders to the tables or to people waiting for carry out would be better than having everyone stand in the line waiting. I realize 5 minutes goes by quickly, but when someone has a large order, the customers behind have to wait longer to place their orders and this causes crowding in the line where there’s not much room. A number system like Noodles & Company has would be much more efficient! I joined their rewards program and see how points can add up quickly. We will be back!
