I have been here twice. Once to color my roots and the second time to cut my hair. The color was exactly what I wanted, my hair color was a really light brown. I had asked another place to do it before going to this salon. That salon stated that I needed to bleach my hair and then color it to match my original hair color. However, this salon did it without bleaching my hair which saved me money and caused less damage to my hair. The second time, I came here to cut my hair. She did an amazing job. It was exactly what I wanted and was done at a cheaper price compared to other Korean hair salons. I had received compliments for my hair cut from friends and coworkers. I will be coming back for another haircut.

Great haircut for the price. With tip I only pay about $ 20. Lady there is very nice and friendly.

I honestly don’t know how to feel about this place. The first time I went here, she cut my hair way too short, but the style was still good. Today, I decided to give it a second shot and I specifically asked her to keep it as close to the length I already had as possible. My hair is blue on the bottom and I also really wanna grow it out. She cut like 3 inches off of the front before I noticed, and when I tried to talk to her about the length when she was done, she said no, that she kept the length, and showed me a half inch section of the back where it was the same length. But the rest of it is wayyyy shorter. And when i bring the long hair to the front, it’s like the same length. I like the style, I hate the length. It’s in the awkward in between spot that I’ve always hated. It took months to grow my hair back out last time. I also just got my hair to the shade of blue that I wanted, and she cut most of the blue off. I won’t be coming back again.

I’ve been to many of the barbers and salons up and down Oakton and Young has done the best job cutting my hair. Mens cuts are $ 17, which is more than Eddie across the street. I like going to Eddie too but there is always a wait there. Anyways, if you’re Korean, it’s almost automatic that the Korean woman is cutting your hair. The other hairdresser doesn’t even attempt to ask if I want a cut. The Korean woman is friendly and thorough. Every few minutes, she checks to make sure everything is even and symmetrical. After she found out I was Korean, she started talking to me in Korean and filled me in on the Oakton St. salon gossip. I have no idea why she knows as much as she does, but she seems to know everyone’s business. Their $ 17 for men is more than the $ 10 at Eddie’s or the other $ 5 shops but for my money, Young Hair Salon does the best job with my hair and I don’t mind paying extra for the gossip. There’s also a small parking lot in the back

I asked for an ombré, they did an alright job. Brought the color wayyyyy toooo high, but she was very kind and really enjoys what she does for a living.

I walked in on a Friday afternoon for a trim, but was ignored by the middle eastern hair dresser, who was working on another client(although she DID see me). However, the wonderful haircut I received from the korean hair dresser made up for her rudeness. Even though there was a language barrier, she cut my hair to the perfect length.(I have anxiety when I get haircuts bc the last few I’ve had cut off a couple inches too many). The best part was that it was only $ 20+tip & now I am free from split ends!

First time there and loved how the hairdresser just started working on my hair after the routine question. She is fast and does not try to rush the process even though there is another walk-in customer waiting. Loved the hair, will definitely will go back when I needed a perm. Price is reasonable too.

This has become my go-to place for hair cuts. There are plenty of $ 5 hair cut places around this area, and I have never been totally happy with any of them. This place is $ 12 for a men’s hair cut. I would choose this place over the H-mart salon for an Asian men’s haircut, because it is less expensive, closer and easier to book an appointment. My next hair cut will definitely be at Young Hair Salon.

1. I had an appointment at 2:30 p.m., when I got there she was in the middle of another persons hair cut. This would have been fine if I was a walk in, but I was not she knew I was coming at 2:30 p.m. She did not start cutting my hair until about 2:50 — 3:00 p.m. 2. I gave her a picture of me with fake bangs that I loved. I ask if she could do it she said yes. I said I wanted a TRIM and those bangs. She tried to hack off all my ‘damaged’ hair. 3. The bangs are hideous. 4. Another person was scheduled at 2:30 p.m. which for some reason she thought we were related when we never met each other. So I had to deal with the lady talk to my HAIRSTYLIST while the hair stylist talked to her. There were times I was scared she was going to lob chunks of my hair off. _______________________ As much as I did not like their originally service, they were ridiculously quick to respond to my anger/disappointment. Within hours of my review being up they called back to apologize and see what they could do. They offered to cut my hair again, but being a busy person and a little wary I opted to get a refund back instead. I just wish they were as kind as they were before I got angry.

My husband has been going here for the past year, and he always comes back looking good. I decided that I needed a trim for my super split-endy hair and decided to try her out too. She did a very fast and good analysis of my split ends and cut off only what was necessary(she could tell from my voice that I wanted to keep my hair long: D) She also went through my thick hair and trimmed from the inside to make me feel light and bouncy again. My hair was being so weighed down by itself, but now feels so much healthier and light. Will be going back for my regular trimmings! SUPPPER :)

Just got my hair cut here for the first time! First of all, as an Asian man, I have the hardest time finding a reliable hair salon. I’ve tried most of the American chain stores such as hair cuttery, super cuts, great clips and all of them have failed me. I’ve been to Park Jun’s Beauty Shop in Naperville, and they alway do an excellent job but is too far from where I live. My conclusion is, for Asian hair, go to an Asian hair salon. All that being said, Young Hair Salon did a great job! Walked in without an appointment and didn’t have to wait. Granted, I went on a Tuesday afternoon. The interior is clean and nice. The price of haircut is $ 12 without tip, which is cheaper than most American chain stores. Totally worth it. I think I will be going here regularly.

I’ve been coming to this salon ever since it opened(and finally made a Unilocal account today!) and I always have the Korean lady cut my hair. I usually never know what I want so I let her do whatever she pleases with my hair. Nowadays I just get my bangs trimmed because I’m growing out my hair, but last year when she gave me haircuts I got compliments all the time. Once, I was at Walgreens and the cashier told me she liked my haircut. I never go anywhere else!

I’ve been going here for some time even before college, and I’ve never had a haircut I did not enjoy. As a college student, price is definitely important. This is no $ 5 haircut, but I’m paying under $ 20 for a haircut well worth over $ 25. As long as I’m around, I don’t plan on going anywhere else for my haircuts.

I’ve been to this place a couple of times now and I have to say that so far so good. Good haircut everytime!
