Great food! Good atmosphere inside. Clean restrooms. I had both the chicken and roasted hot dogs and recommend both. Outstanding service and staff. Will definitely be back. Come for the jojos.

Nice bar with good cold beer. If you need a watering hole after a day in the mountains this is a great spot!

Drove up there for the awesome chicken and jojo’s($ 10). It’s pressure cooked and totally awesome! You won’t leave hungry. They give you a half chicken and jojo’s. And… the tarter sauce… the bomb! It’s really a very well kept secret. I don’t know about you, but pressure cooked chicken isn’t too common. I don’t run across it often at least! Staff is always super friendly. It’s a fun local hang out with some hipsters in the midst. Always a fun time with great grub. Super happy they reopened!

This small town watering hole isn’t a dive. Its clean, wide and outfitted with crisp TVs, a beautiful bar and a high pressure deep fryer. The locals of Skykomish are nice folks and the crowd here swirled around chatting to each other. Happy PCT trail hikers are in the mix getting a chance to talk to other humans off the trail. You get almost a full chicken and«jo-jo’s» for ten bucks but I would have liked a bit more seasoning. Come and whistle here with the mountain goats of Skykomish.

This place is really cool. I brought a friend in from Lake Tahoe. We met some really great friends there unexpectedly to my surprise. We had a few beers, and when I paid my tab I gave the bar tender a $ 100.00 dollar bill. The total damage was $ 12.00. My change given back to me was $ 8.00. I told the bartender«hey I gave you a hundred dollar bill!!!». He went back to the cash register and the cash was sitting on the side? He brought it back to me and said sorry. I felt like I was getting ripped off and that he thought I had to much to drink and could make some extra $ on his shift. He was only human, and we all make mistakes. But this one really made me feel bad, and I will be very careful here in the future.

Nice place with a open piano and guitar to play if you’re so inclined. The owner is friendly as well.

Fried chicken is fantastic. Cute place, they did a nice job rebuilding after some lunatic burned it to the ground last year. It was clean, the people were exceptionally nice. Some sweet guy left money in the juke box for me to have my pick of songs. The owner is a lovely gal named Teddie. Her hubby took the time to chat us up a bit. I will definitely stop back by here when I’m in the area.

Be sure to stop here on your way through the pass! There is a good selection of beer and liquor with some of the best fried chicken I have ever had all at a great price! They have a horseradish that will knock your socks off! Come in and meet Teddy and Charlie, play a game of pool and ping-pong, have a hefty plate of fried chicken, and a couple beers. Teddy and Charlie are great people — very friendly and fun. Come to the whistling post and I will guarantee it will make your day better.

What else is there to do in Skykomish but eat fried chicken and JoJo’s and drink some alcoholic beverages while waiting for the rain to stop ? The Whistling Post is def. a local joint, you don’t go there to pick up men … even though that would’ve been pretty easy considering that there were plenty there … you go there to eat and drink and talk shit with your friends or the owner . They have a pool table, tv’s a ping pong table so plenty of stuff to keep busy. They only accept cash, but there is an ATM machine on the premises. Oh, one more you cannot bring your gun in to the bar … In short. The whistling post is a great place to make a stop on your way to or from the mountain !

Met the owner Charlie and he pours full pitchers for a good price. Beer was cold and very modestly priced. If you go during evening hours they should not let you out of the place until you have had the Fried Chicken and Jo Jos. Be careful with the horseraddish… it is out of this world!

Ey… The Whiping POST. We meet again. Drink. Drink. Drink… ERRRarrrhhhh. Puke. WTF!!! Why in the world am I drinking Schmidt on TAP! You don’t go here for the women. Unless you like prison BJs. I would give this place a higher rating except that it would be an insult to every other place I ever give a rating to.
