The Anchorage are affordable condos overlooking the lake and sitting in the middle of a marina. The views are good (you can sit on your patio and watch sailboats go by) and the area is fairly quiet (save for some road noise for I-10, depending on the location of your condo). Compared to New Orleans, the rent is very affordable and includes cable. It is fairly easy to get to the city (just off exit 261) and the area (Slidell) is growing.
The staff in the office are competent and friendly. I’ve had a couple minor maintenance issues and they were taken care of very quickly. There are five buildings at the Anchorage, though you can rent condos in only 2 (the other 3 building condos are for sale only). There is a very small fitness center and 4 pools (though the pools are somewhat small).
If Unilocal allow ½ stars, it would warrant 3 ½.
