If you want an amazing atmosphere and food, this is the place to go! The food was outstanding, and everything was spot on with our order. For those looking for a laid back atmosphere with the best po boys you have ever had, you’ve found the right place, and you can tell it’s an amazing place from all the locals who come. I am so happy we found this restaurant on our way out of Louisiana!

I was directed here when asked about where to have lunch like a local. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere unique as it has bicycles hanging from the ceiling. I had grilled shrimp salad with house dressing. The grilled shrimp were very good, fresh and a good grilled taste, but the salad only had one small piece of tomato and couple pieces of onion, croutons. House dressing is so thick its for dipping not pourable, good for those who love garlic. My husband had seafood platter, the fish was catfish, shrimp, oysters typical fried seafood. green beans and fries were his sides… average overall …

After a 45 minute wait after ordering, my catfish and shrimp plate was absolutely abominable. If you are looking for a place to take your family to dine for the evening, Ky’s is not the place! The local McDonald’s would be a better decision than this dreadful excuse for a restaurant.

Kevin makes the best fried shrimp in town! Everything here is fresh and delicious. We love going to KY’s. It’s perfect family restaurant, and the perfect place to get all your favorite local dishes.

To start off I’ve been patronizing this restaurant for years. I called yesterday to place a phone order, the girl answers the phone«Hi» I’m like«I’d like to make an order please» the phone silenced… must have gotten disconnected. I call back. another voice Ky’s .I say I’d like to make an order please? She says ok what can I get you? I give her my order, then she proceeds to inform me that I don’t make an order, I place an order… they make it. totally rude! I said excuse me but do u correct every customer when they call to place, make, or whatever they choose to say? She says yes. it’s a play on words… I proceed to inform her she could cancel my order, but she cut me off by saying u can cancel it if you’d like… I was appalled! I asked to speak to the owner, she informs me she is the owner, Linda… I’ve been in the service industry at a restaurant that has 10x’s the business they have, and that is no way to talk to a customer… I will never patronize this business again! From the waitress that answers a business phone Hi, to the owner who has the nerve to inform you how to «place an order» …

Best roast beef po boy in slidell! Can’t say much about the service because i picked it up to go, but the roast beef po boy and gumbo were delicious! Will be back for sure.

Called in a to go order. I was told 20 minutes. In all i waited 45 minutes. My order was also wrong. The burger was ok but the blue cheese was awesome so i guess it made up for that. The cheese fries were bland, perhaps it was my fault that i expected to get good portions for a to go order. But really 10 fries? I will say its a good place/atmosphere/ingredients but bad service/efficiency/and to go portions

I was filming here for TBA movie and the owner of this place is just a trip. He is hilarious! He’s been making me laugh nonstop and just so sweet. He went into the kitchen and cooked my friend Tiffany and I his signature cheeseburgers. Now I’m not the type to go to a restaurant and order burgers but I would drive an hour just to be entertained by Kevin and have his juiciest of the juiciest burger!

Came back for the roast beef po boy and tried the loaded cheese fries as well. Both were outstanding. The food is always good and has a home-cooked taste. Wait staff has been polite and attentive(drink never gets empty).

We stopped by for lunch today and are so pleased that we tried this local spot. Found them on Unilocal!I got half a dozen fried shrimp off of their appetizer menu, a half order of fries, and an order of the hushpuppies to share with my husband. My husband got a fries oyster po boy with fries. My shrimp and fries were very good! The shrimp tasted fresh, and the fries were freshly cooked. Nice and crisp. The hushpuppies were very good. They had a bite to them, but they weren’t too spicy hot. My husband said that his pi boy was the best food he’s had since we’ve been gone from home. That’s two weeks of eating all over this area, NOLA, Alabama and Florida. The restaurant itself is pretty neat. They have bicycles hanging from the ceiling and what looks to be original tiling on the floor. It’s definitely not your typical chain restaurant. All together we paid $ 27 before tip. A little much for lunch, but worth it because of the quality, unique setting, and the fact that they are a local restaurant. Definitely recommend them!

The food here is delicious and the portions are generous. The po boy combo is perfect if you’re hungry. The atmosphere is family friendly and in a nice, trendy neighborhood.

we had the half oyster half shrimp platter and a shrimp poboy which nearly everyone else was ordering too. we wanted to try the gumbo and bread pudding too so we had a little of everything. tbh the hushpuppy was hard burnt and not tasty, the chicken gumbo was salty and all the rest of it was wonderful! The historical bldg in a hurricane salvaged bldg in revitalized kitchy doentown nostalgic atmosphere, very efficient wait staff gets your food out hot and fast! bar setup and you have to stand in line to order your food but the girls bring it out fast and great service! we came in off fwy hard to find if you’re a tourist but we loved the experience! we’ll be back! shrimps are yummy yummy

I’ve been coming here since I was born. My dad knows the owners. Food is always good. Old bicycle shop turned into a local restaurant. Nachos, roast beef poboy & bread pudding is what I get every time. The staff could be nicer but the good food makes up for that.

Ky’s Olde Towne Bicycle Shop used to actually be a bicycle shop years ago. Now it’s one of Slidell’s better restaurants. They still have bicycles hanging from the ceiling here. It sort of feels like you’ve stepped back in time when you walk in. The food is very good in this casual and charming place. The burger is great and I like their onion rings, too. The last time I visited I had the grilled shrimp poboy and fries. That was very good, too. I honestly have liked everything I’ve tried here. Walk in, walk straight up to the counter, seat yourself and they’ll bring your order out to you when it’s ready. If you’re ever in lovely Olde Towne Slidell you really should stop in and see the nice folks here and try their great food.

True too it’s name when you walk in you see bicycles hanging on the ceiling however, the name leaves out the part about food. Food is why I came to visit. I’m fairly new to Slidell maybe it was a bicycle shop some time ago. KYis not fancy it has an old timey feeling from the appearance to the music to the seating. I ordered fried shrimp and french fries. The shrimp were seasoned and very tasty they give you home made style french fries which I’m not a big fan of. The service was pleasant. The menu offer lots of seafood(my fav) platters and Po boys. Sandwiches, pasta, salads, and traditional Louisiana items such as gumbo and red beans. I look forward to exploring more of their menu.

This is not a bicycle shop! The first time I tried going to KY’s the name threw me off. I was pretty sure I had heard about it on the radio, but when I saw the name and building, I assumed it was an actual bike shop. While it does appear to have once been a bike shop, it is actually a pretty good place for sandwiches in the Old Towne area of Slidell. Once I finally realized that this place was indeed a restaurant, I knew I had to give it a try. I went during peak lunch time and there was a pretty substantial line. Despite being busy the line moved fast and the cashiers were very friendly. The restaurant is one large open room with tables in the middle and a long bench with tables along the wall. Normally restaurants that have a long bench like they did sacrifice privacy for seating. That was not the case here as the tables were spaced far enough apart that private conversations could be held. I always judge sandwich joints by their roast beef poor boy. KY’s version was good to very good with homemade beef with a slight garlicky taste. The only other sandwich I have to compare it to in Slidell is Bear’s and I think Ky’s was better. If you are in the Old Towne area and want a good sandwich, I encourage you to check out KY’s.

Great food served at KY’s! Customer service that truly treats you like part of the family. The roast beef po-boy is simply mouth-watering! They use round roast and it is cooked perfectly! The beef has the texture of a filet. It is lathered in gravy over here. Don’t expect to stay clean or look proper eating this bad boy. The bread is slightly toasted too. The white beans and sausage is delish too! They also serve burgers, sandwiches, seafood plates, and other po-boys. Charming, casual place in Slidell. Much love.

2nd visit here! Love sitting in the old shop and looking at the different items they have on show. Food is simple fare but great if you fancy a visit to Slidell Market on a Saturday morning this is a good place to eat

Nothing beats an olde town fave! I still remember when KY’s actually had bicycles and lawn mowers instead of tables and a bar. Usually, when I’m craving a cheese burger from a restaurant, I always think of KY’s! These days, you order at the counter and they bring the food to you. Always friendly service! I once ordered a Salad with Fried Shrimp and it was pretty good! Yummy! Great place for lunch! =)

This place has character. Not fancy décor, but that’s what I like about it. And the food ain’t half bad either. I ordered the shrinp po-boy. I don’t know how they do it, but the shrimp were piping hot up until the last bite. The fries were awesome as well. The wife ordered some shrimp and mushrooom fettucini dish and she really enjoyed it. the kid got the catfish plate. It was a decent portion for being a kids’ plate. Staff was very nice and attentive. can’t wait to get back there.
