McDonald’s

Service is quick and friendly. Never had a screwed up order here, but hardly go to this one because the Pontchartrain Drive location is closer to my home.

I’ve only been here a couple of times for breakfast, but I find the interior of this place really weird. It feels really cramped. I don’t frequent McDonald’s around the world or anything, and if i’m getting fast food lunch or dinner, I usually head to Wendy’s. Maybe the new wave of McDonald’s restaurants has this set up, but I find it stupid. I guess they figure more people use the drive thru, so they don’t need to worry about the inside of their restaurants. Anyway, you walk in to order and it feels like the counter’s in a hallway. I think there are only two registers. Getting napkins/​ketchup/​drinks is also cramped since there is one station of all of those things maybe 6 or 8 feet wide. You know how many people need to get napkins or a drink? A lot of people. I went to get napkins and this lady was putting sugar in her coffee, so I stood there nicely to wait, but she then put something like 6 packets in her coffee! If there was another napkin dispenser in the restaurant, maybe I don’t have to wait for this lady to make coffee Koolaid. Their ketchup dispenser stinks, ask for packets at the register. I don’t mind slow dispensers, but I don’t want to bug other people by blocking the napkins, straws, sugar, etc. Once you get your food at sit down, the seating area is okay. The food is typical of other McDonald’s, so their Egg McMuffin tastes like the Egg McMuffin I have eaten from a Covington location. The good thing though is the location is in the same parking lot as Walgreens and Chili’s, so it’s not hard to find a spot and avoid a long drive thru line or anything. Just prepare yourself for the cramped ordering operation they have going on here. The workers are nice and helpful, it’s just the interior architecture that will send you down the street to any of the myriad of other options.

Service is the worst!!! The same owner owns almost all Nola area McDs… you can tell… poorly staffed… charge you for every possible extra… head to Wendy’s if you’re in New Orleans.
