Best donuts in Hampton Roads. My favorite is the honey bun. followed by anything else in the display case. High quality at a reasonable cost. You can’t go wrong with Ringo’s.

The yeast donuts are the best around. All of the flavors are excellent. Best selection first thing in the morning. The coffee off to the side of the room is horrible. I gave 5 stars for the donuts only. The outside is decorated really cute. Don’t know what happened to the inside they forgot to decorate. It could be so cute!

I went here for the first time today! I got the Squeeler– donut with maple frosting and bacon bits on top. Seriously amazing! My only meh comment was on the store décor and coffee. But really if the donuts are what you come for there is no WAY you’ll be dissapointed. Customer service is also WONDERFUL

Most amazing donuts, I absolutely love them & sugar free donut is a cheat you can have without feeling guilty. Price is average.

You’ve got to go early or they will be out of donuts and you’ll miss out. Our favorites were the yeast donuts. The cake donuts were ok, but the maple donut tasted strangely of celery… It didn’t stop us though from attempting to go back another day to sample their other flavors. The second time, however, I was there around 9:30am and they were out of all but maybe 4 kinds of donuts and there weren’t any that my husband or I liked. Small mom-n-pop type place. It’s been ridiculously hot inside whenever I’ve visited, so I wouldn’t want to sit around in there to eat and chat. They do have a few tables though. The coffee is pre-made and in a carafe with a pump-top, so I didn’t try that either. $ 8.80 or so for a dozen donuts though — can’t beat the price.

You know how sometimes you just want a doughnut? This was one of those days. We decided to take the drive(like 30 – 40 minutes) to check it out. By the time we got here, my 16 month old was so ready to get out of the car and what better surprise than to stick him in front of a case full of doughnuts. There were a few tables inside, we grabbed a seat and just enjoyed a little family time together, eating sugar!. The inside is definitely nothing special. There was no restroom to wash hands in, which was a little strange to me. All in all, it was a nice little place. Totally a small town feel, which is a charm I especially love.

We are lucky to have many independent donuts shops here in Hampton Roads. My go-to when I’m needing a donut hit(more like when my boys need it) is O’doodleDoo’s(ODD). I had spotted RingO’s Donuts(RD) after driving by in Smithfield. It’s closed on Sundays so I was always missing them after visiting Windsor Castle Park, and ended up bookmarking them. Finally, after many attempts, I was able to stop by before they closed. J. Kirk Ring, a former banker, is the owner of RD, and opened in 2009. They serve both yeast and cake donuts; their specialty is the«Squealer” – a yeast raised donut with maple frosting and bacon sprinkles. Their reviews are high, but not many compared to all of the other donuts shops in the area. I would rather visit RD’s again before reviewing, but I wanted them to get another review on their business page. Who knows when I’ll get over there again? The paint and decorations of the outside is cute; however, the inside leaves much to be desired – no color, no interest, no nothing. The interior could be so awesome if someone took the time to paint, put up some pictures, and give it a little love. The space is quite large compared to ODD. Again, they could do so much more with this place! I was disappointed the second I walked inside. With that, let’s move on to the donuts. You must be thinking why I gave them 4 stars if I hated the ambiance. Well, it’s all about the donuts, folks! Look, I’m not coming here to stare at the walls; I’m here to eat delicious donuts. And their donuts are tasty! I have to say we thought their donuts were better than ODD’s donuts. While ODD’s creations are beautiful and sugary, RD’s donuts are more simple and delectable. My favorite of RD’s was the Pumpkin donut: moist, cake-like, and with a strong pumpkin spice flavor. Heavenly! One last thing to mention about: value. RD sells a dozen of donuts for $ 8.95. I can’t find any independent donut shops for close to that price, can you? Most places sell a dozen for over $ 12. Now, that’s a deal. If you get a chance in the Smithfield area, check out RD. Try to get there early because they sell out, which I will do myself soon.

Excellent prices and excellent taste! I usually come here once a year and get the Squealer paired with a chocolate milk. I have also had a key lime donut but I wasn’t too much of a fan. It did not have the tartness you’d expect to it. My favorite thing about the place is the fact it’s a local owned business and the owner is often there(and very friendly). They seem to always be very busy in the mornings and there is no question why. If you want to please the office pick up a dozen assorted, you cannot go wrong.

LOVETHISPLACE! It’s like the doughnuts we grew up on in CA. They’re the flaky yummy doughnuts, not cake doughnuts. And cheaper then O’doodledoos. The n cinnamon bun and plain old fashioned glazed are by far our favorites. AND, you can order ahead for Saturday morning as long as your order in in by noon on Thursday or Friday I believe. Only downside, they are closer on Sunday. BOO! Lol

I have to admit I was very interested in trying this place out after reading many of the reviews. I took a 40 minute drive to see if they were really that good. I got there about 10 am on a Saturday morning and they were nearly sold out. We bought a dozen of the different donuts they had left. Of those, maybe 3 really stood out. Overall they were ok. Not worth a 40 minute drive. I feel they tasted about the same as a local supermarket donut. The only difference was how fresh they were.

WOW. So good. So so so very good. I have never been disappointed here(ok, so maybe a couple times when they run out early, but not disappointed because of their doughnuts). The yeast doughnuts are my favorite(key lime and cheesecake, please) but their cake doughts are also delicious(mmmm… orange juice doughnut…). And of course, being in Smithfield, ya gotta have a «Squealer:» yeast doughnut, maple icing, and bacon.
