Truthfully, I was unimpressed with my meal in its entirety. Because I ordered a meal off of the lunch menu, I knew to expect a smaller portion, but wow, it was even SMALLER than anticipated. The brisket was pretty bland, and not nearly as juicy as I thought it would be being that it was close to 12PM. The sauces helped a ton. I will say the mashed potatoes were FANTASTIC though. My friend had a burger and was happy with his meal, his fries were pretty tasty also. The service was excellent though. Famous Rob was attentive and knowledgeable. Because I had a Groupon($ 20 worth of food for $ 12) I only paid for a portion of my pitcher of beer! If it weren’t for his service, I would’ve given 2 solid stars. All in all if you’re looking for authentic BBQ this is not the place to go. I’ve heard such great things and was completely let down… better off sticking with Smokin’ Al’s

Saturday night was a mob scene. Waited almost 35 minutes, Wait would have been longer but I had left my name when I tried earlier to make a reservation. We were 5 people, Take no reservations less then 8 people. While the crowd at the desk never got smaller, we could see empty tables all over the restaurant. Once seated the service was quick. The food was average, If you like everything on your plate to taste like BBQ. Hamburger was disappointing. Sides are tiny portions. Will say the cole slaw was good and the bread pudding dessert was good. Other then that I don’t get the crowds. Have had better anywhere.

Yeah when I first moved to Long Island years ago famous Dave’s was the first restaurant I hit in the neighborhood. I really liked the place with its garbage lid full of goodies and sideshow of sauces. But it has fallen off in recent years because of changes they made and quality of food that’s coming out. I hope it can get back to what it used to be, a solid BBQ joint. My favorite meal I remember was a hot rack of St. Louis ribs with a nice side of coleslaw, hot fries and hot corn muffin with a ice cold blue moon… gooood!!!

This place is disgusting. The food was terrible! It was a complete waste of $ 60.00 for 2 people. We will not be returning!

Famous Dave’s is mediocrity jumped up a bit… slathering anything in their delicious choice of 5BBQ sauces will make you happy. Out standing sauce yes, outstanding quality food? not as much. I can’t be that hard on Dave though because he has some great dishes. I feel if they just upped the anty a bit with some outstanding new choices, and better product, I would add it as a favorite spot. Service was just alright, almost bad come to think of it, and price for what I got wasn’t exactly on level but, still a very good dinner.

It his place is a horror and a joke. Several times have I ordered take out with my family and never is the order correct and then tonight was the nail in the coffin for me. We placed an online order, which was confirmed and waited over thirty minutes before driving over to pick it up. Upon arrival my brother in-law is told that they«never received» the order, are out of brisket and are too busy and can not accommodate our order of 2 sandwiches, a salad, one appetizer and a kids meal unless we waited another hour. This is a BBQ place, that’s all they sell but are out of food? Can not accommodate a simple order after over 45 minutes unless we wait another hour? Then when we asked for a gift card to accommodate their negligence and showing them the confirmation of our order all they offered was a free appetizer?!? No, you screwed up, children can not wait hours to eat and no, we do not want to wait till 8:30 or 9:00PM to eat. If this is the crap level of service your managers are able to give, citing they are too busy to service confirmed orders, then I can do without icing you business. Just horrible and now after an hour of waiting for an order they have no intention of servicing and listening to excuses we needed to find an alternative.

We used to eat at Famous Dave’s fairly regularly, often in a big group. But in recent years they seemed to have gone down hill. Service was slow and inattentive, the bathroom was gross and the food wasn’t as good. Some of the menu items we liked there were the Chili, the Chopped Pork Sandwich, Dave’s Sassy Barbeque Salad and their Famous Fries. Once we had the All-Americam BBQ Feast, for 4 people(served on a garbage can lid) which was quite good. Some of the items that weren’t so good included the Sweetwater Catfish Fingers(way too greasy) and the Barbeque Chicken(it tasted off). Also their corn on the cob was always overcooked and seemed like institutional food. However, most of their sides were quit good. One final negative factor: The Suffolk County Dept of Health Services has 4 violations listed for Dave’s, from March 2015(you can look up health dept inspection results for any restaurant in Suffolk County on their website). So I’ll wait until they clean up their act before returning to this Famous Dave’s. Hopefully it will be soon.

BBQ!!! I love famous Dave’s. There food isn’t the same though. In recent years they have changed the taste of their food and cut down the amount of BBQ sauces they offer. Those are the things that made famous Dave’s so special. The three stars is also for the corn bread! Why so expensive Davey?! Those little things should be free, your a BBQ spot loosen the chains on the corn bread a little man lol! I can say their lunch menu is very reasonable, only 9.99 for two meats and a side. prices like that is what keeps me coming back.

Not a bad spot to satisfy your BBQ cravings while trapped out in the suburbs with the family units on Lawn Guyland. Kind of like eating at a theme restaurant in Disney World. From the log cabin walls, to the fireplace, antler chandeliers, and signage hanging all around. Friendly and attentive service. The host/manager came around a few times to make sure all was going well. After looking over the menu of many BBQ based items to choose from we settled on some drinks, an appetizer, entrée, and dessert. Moonshine Raspberry Punch — served in a mason jar, and at only $ 6.79 was a bargain. Burnt Ends — The Pitmaster’s secret. Tender pieces of Texas Beef Brisket seared and caramelized with Sweet & Zesty BBQ sauce. $ 8.99. I’ll admit the Burnt Ends were really good. Feast For Two — Generous helpings of St. Louis-Style Spareribs, Country-Roasted Chicken, Texas Beef Brisket, Creamy Coleslaw, Famous Fries, Wilbur Beans, Sweet Corn and Corn Bread. Served family-style for 2 – 3 people. $ 37.99. This was perfect for our table of three and we still had a little left over. Ribs were good, chicken was ok, brisket was passable, and sides were decent. Down Home Banana Pudding — Rich and creamy banana pudding with slices of fresh bananas and vanilla wafers. Topped with whipped cream. $ 5.99. A huge portion. Yes, there is always room for dessert! Overall, I felt the prices were fair for what it was. A bunch of comfort style BBQ food served up in a fun atmosphere. Also, make sure you get a table in the main dining room, as those areas on the sides are cramped and lack the ambiance. Not really worthy of all the four and five star reviews, but solid enough BBQ eats to satisfy all the suburbanites who live out here with their kids in tow.

Ok review time, first let me start off saying that I got the salmon which was fantastic I know getting salmon at a BBQ joint is crazy but I’m a little crazy, plus my date order the 3 meat trio which was the ribs, chicken breast and chopped pork and of course I ate most of it lol so win win. Everything was delicious especially the corn bread lol I had 2 piece because my date doesn’t like corn bread I know weird but again, a win win for me lol.

This is for the Westbury location. Service was slow by server. Forgot items and took a long time to bring requested items. Food was mediocre. Very salty and heavily sauced. Not like Texas BBQ. Brisket was tough. Ribs were soft and pulled from bone nicely but just everything was slathered in too much sauce. Could not taste the real ingredients. Totally corporate food. I would not go back.

Food is good but took FOREVER and they jacked up their prices from the last time we were here a few years ago. $ 22 for ribs, one meat, and 2 sides? I think this used to be $ 17 at one time. We waited for almost a half an hour after ordering. This is barbecue, people. it’s already cooked! All they have to do is heat it up arrange it on the plate, what is the hold up? Every table in our area had a similar wait. This is not a new restaurant, it’s been open for years now. The manager and waiter were nice, but my main concern, especially when I’m there with kids and have a limited time before their boredom kicks in, is getting good food with a reasonable wait. I’ll give them another shot, but if the wait is this long again, I’m probably done with the place. Food is 4 stars, prices and waiting knock it down to 3.

I’d say they used to be almost 5 stars, with great service and food but with the new changes, it is no longer one of our go to spots. First, they started to take the great variety of sauces off the table and then recently we found out their amazing bbq chips that gradually stopped coming complimentary had been take off the menu completely! They also took off the one chicken sandwich I would eat, but luckily they are able to make it special ordered. But definitely sad to say that we will not be frequenting here as often.

I felt compelled to write a review even though it is a chain. I always had something I enjoyed for dinner. Their burgers and sandwiches are top notch. And there are so many possibilities in taste because you can always get the same sandwich but use different sauces each time and it leads to a new experience. Some times, not recent, the waiter would give us fries so we can try every sauce. But it just complicates the decision more because every sauce is so good. I should write a review solely based on their corn muffins because it is sooooo good, but thought it would be too«corny.» They should seriously open up a corn muffin drive through, I would go through every morning.

We have grandma as a house guest and she loves BBQ. Loves it! She tells me «Sonnys» in Florida has the best BBQ that’s she’s ever had. Really? I’m not gonna take her to Dinosaur in NYC. That’s it, we’re going to «Famous Dave’s» Famous who? Listen Dave, if you stink? Grandma is gonna straighten you out. Famous Dave’s has been open for a few years now on 347. It has a big fireplace that I’ve never seen work, its like a Sonny’s but better. They have all the items that Bobbique in Patchogue doesn’t have, Sliced brisket!(How do you not have sliced brisket and call yourself a BBQ place?) We ordered a rack of ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, kids have burgers. I thought it was pretty good. The place looked clean, I don’t think its a one star establishment. Dave, you’re alright in Grannys book. You could say our meal was. Famous?
