Raising guide dogs since 1946. This is the ideal place to raise a dog if you live in Long Island. These people care about these dogs and the people who get them. One nice thing for us as we raised our lab golden mix Cheerio was that she might go to a service person with PSTD or some other disability. The bomb sniffers live a good life with a single cop handler but imagine helping a vet? That was a huge selling point for us. Over 30 suicides a day with veterans, we believe our dog would help with that. If you are sporting a button or bumper sticker about vets, well, do something real this time. Don’t do the minimum. Raise the dog.
Some dogs make it all the way to the top and guide the blind. We have 2 that made it during our raising career. You can’t imagine how that feels but you can find out.
