First time here. Overall a good experience. Wait staff was attentive, the sangria was good, the food was satisfying and the prices were the going rate. The benchmark for my wife and I is whether we would come back, and we definitely will. I’d recommend this place to anyone.

Overall nowhere near as good as my last visit. Chips and salsa were same as last visit. Appetizer of Avocado Fries was a few slices of Avocado breaded and fried. They were fine but bland and in need of seasoning. Soft tacos were OK but light on the chicken. Chicken Fajitas were usual fare. Asked if it could have mushrooms instead of onions and was told yes. When the bill came they charged extra $ 3 for the substitution but should have been told in advance. Enchiladas Chipotle has a great sauce but the plate was steaming how with the food not hot enough and seemingly reheated on the plate. Rice and beans were minimal portions, An order of cheese Enchiladas ordered with extra sauce resulted in an extra charge for the additional sauce without being told. Same hot plate with food not not enough. We were told there is no childrens menu but they could do grilled chicken and rice. It was normal grilled chicken and a small portion of rice. When we got the bill the dish was $ 19. This isnt the way to keep customers. Fried ice cream was standard stuff. Bananas Flambé described to us as like Bananas Foster. Other than having bananas in it it wasnt that close. No cinnamon or vanilla, just banana slices with sugar and lemon juice flambeed and not that good. Flan which was good last time wasnt good. Had a thick skin on top like pudding. All in all this visit was very disappointing. We felt like we got ripped off on the childs meal and extra sauce/substitutions. If you want to charge for extra sauce tell customers about it. And if grilled chicken and rice for a child is $ 19 you need to let us know. Not doing so will cause you to lose customers.

I have no idea how I never knew of this place before now! This is by far the best Mexican food in the area. Last night we ordered Enchiladas Poblano and Chicken Chimichangas. Our favorite Mexican dishes include Mole sauce and the Enchiladas did not disappoint, fresh tortillas, perfectly moist shredded chicken and the most balanced Mole sauce I’ve had on Long Island. We ordered an extra side of mole sauce so I could dip my chimichangas in it and I was so glad I did. The meals came with rice and pinto beans and chips and delicious homemade salsa. The kind of salsa with fresh tomatoes, onions, peppers and lime, clearly no can was involved in making this salsa. We devoured it. The staff was so friendly and responsive. We plan to head back and take the entire family next time. We feel so lucky to have found this place and can’t wait to return.

Delish! Have driven by quite a few times. Decided to go in with my dad tonight. I had a steak dish and dad had pork chops. Both soooo tender and amazing flavor. If your thinking of going it’s a MUST! Update. We went again took mom this time. Just as Delish as the first time! People need to know about this place. It’s a gem!

Almost didn’t want to review this one of a kind find because once the word is out I will never get in. Wonderful food. Husband and wife team. Perfect perfect food. Delicious sangria and EXCELLENT service. Try the stuffed lambchops. Amazing. Someone wrote that this is the same owners of Viva La Vida. I find that hard to believe. There is no comparison to the food. At all. The salsa is different and so is everything else. I cannot believe that is true. Run to this restaurant. It Is THAT good.

Nice place for first date. It wasn’t loud like some places. The ambiance was average. Very clean & nice background music. Our waiter was awesome. He was very attentive, bought us a round of drinks when the check came. Our food was great. Good size portions, food needed more flavor.

Our experience was not so great here. Went here for dinner on a Saturday around 6pm. After being seated, must’ve waited another half hour before our server came around asking if we were ready order. We ordered the guacamole for our appetizer and a burrito for our entrée. Another half hour rolls by and only our entrée comes. I didn’t care at this point about the guacamole. After finishing our meal(which was bland and unseasoned by the way), we asked for the check. They charged $ 30 for a half pitcher of sangria. We didn’t order sangria and we asked to have it removed from our bill. whatever. this place sucked.

Excellent food, excellent service. The natural margarita was delicious. Had the steak fajita which were very tasty. Bananas flambé to top it off prepared table side. Can’t wait to go back! Best Mexican restaurant in the area.

Me and my husband were undecided about dinner we ended up at this Mexican place the ambiance and service were excellent our waiter was very nice we ordered tacos for appetizer and a virgin piña colada both very good my main entrée was chiles enogada and were ok I was a bit disappointed since they weren’t very good the chile was tough and the nutty cream was sour and not sweet like is supposed to be regardless me and my husband had a great time will Defenatley go back since our appetizers were good we are hoping not all entrees are like the chiles

From the minute you walk to the minute you walk out you feel right at home. The staff is very attentive and very friendly! We ordered the tapas platter and the short rib tacos. All was very delicious. I haven’t had authentic Mexican food since I moved from Chicago and this is it. I have tried the nearby Mexican places and none have satisfied my taste buds and craving for authentic Mexican food. We also ordered dessert which was made in front of was it was amazing!

Terrific! Great service, great food. this will go on my list to be sure to revisit next time I’m in town. The table side guacamole was one of the best ever! Tortilla soup was light and delish, huge portion. Prices were very reasonable and they have happy hour!

Love it! They have a great margarita menu here. I tried a Jalapeño one which was good. Then switched to a natural Watermelon which was one of the best flavored margarita’s I’ve ever had. It didn’t taste like it was saturated with watermelon flavoring, but made with real juice and fruit. That drink deserves 5 stars. For dinner I tried an appetizer that was on the special menu, stuffed Jalapeño with shrimp, wrapped in bacon. For my entrée I went with chicken fajitas. Food was 4 stars. I will definitely be coming back, probably this week.

Went here last year after they first opened and was very impressed with the food. Very authentic Mexican food. Then have been there a couple of times more & their food continues to impress! Went for lunch & they were empty. Come on Smithtown– this place is AWESOME! We want them to make it! Check them out soon. I know I’ll be back very soon.

You can never have too many good Mexican restaurants around in my opinion, so I was pretty psyched when Azulejos took up shop in the space formerly known as Uncle Bacalas. My experience here for dinner was pleasant enough; very nice people, excellent service, nice Mexican inspired tiled space, etc. The food however was on the mediocre side. We started with tamales and table-side prepared guacamole which we requested to be made extra spicy. Both were bland and left me yearning for spice and flavor. The paella, again, lackluster and forgetable. This place just opened, so I hope they will be successful despite the desolate location and the neutral cuisine. My advice: kick up the booze and fire up the spices til tongues turn! Also as a side note: Their, «soon to be famous», margaritas will not be that memorable if they don’t up the tequila. Mine was mostly cloying sweet sour mix devoid of any agave.

Mexican There is a real dearth of authentic Mexican places on Long Island so I was happy to see Azulejos open — even in the dead zone they are in. Biggish bar area greets you when you walk in, and I got started with fresh margaritas with lime juice(their«natural») which is heads and tails better than the crap we always get with sour mix from the bar gun in just about every other restaurant in the U.S. A bowl of tortilla chips with some spicy salsa got my taste buds going and I decided to work my way through as many items on the menu in order to gauge the food — started off with chicken tamales. Decent but not outstanding. Large overall and good. Next up came the garlic soup– I love that stuff and this was good but not as powerful as I have had at other places. Still good. Followed it up with fish tacos that were on the specials menu. Again good — but not spectacular. Bartender /owner was outstandingly nice and overall I think this place can only go up– they are off to a good start and I will check it again in the near future. Overall a solid place.
