I hesitated to rent a room here because of the bad reviews; but I reserved anyway because it was a half mile from the Smithville Inn where I was attending a wedding on a Sunday night. My friends also booked a room here. They answer the phone«The NEW Red Carpet Inn and Suites» — so I’m thinking new owners? The room was clean, very clean. They could use new covers for their beds as the ones they use now date the room; but for the price and location; this room was a bargain. They are polite and friendly on the telephone, and I would give them another try if you are in the area. I will consider giving it more stars if I have the same or a better experience upon my return. I should also say that I spent very little time at the room. I checked in; showered, dressed and left. I returned to sleep and was gone bright and early the next morning. The key drop was convenient as a check out option.

This place is beyond appalling! A total fleabag! The housekeepers don’t clean up, replace sheets, or even make the bed. The only thing they do is replace the towels and that’s it! And sometimes they fail at that as they forget some of them(like hand towels). How lazy! Lots of little creepy crawlers(from dead ones to lively pesky ones) to be found in my room. Thank God bed bugs aren’t one of them. Do not stay here! Your quintessential Motel 6 looks like a Ritz Carlton compared to this dump!

The room we were assigned was infested with bugs, both dead and alive. The carpet near the bed had several bugs scurrying around, and the shower had two bugs in it when we arrived. There were gaps in the border of the door which permitted bugs to come and go. When we approached the management about this problem, they refused to refund our stay or provide us with a different room. We wound up leaving and not staying there for the night. Finally, the room had a repugnant smell reminiscent of a old basement.

Despicable treatment and lack of customer service. Within 10 minutes of making my reservation I discovered I had lost my credit card. I cancelled my reservation. i was informed that i would be penalized my entire payment. Through great effort I was able to replace my card and return to spend the night. I was informed that I had to be penalized by forfeiting the payment for this evenings lodging and that I could not stay at the hotel despite having been penalized(paid for the room in full). Sleazy business practice. Disgusting. even called on my behalf to try to remedy the situation to no avail. Simply told policy. Policy to charge someone not to stay in the room they paid for. I would not be posting this had I paid and been forced to go home. BUT when I spent 2 hours replacing my card and merely attempted to stay in the room I already paid for I was refused. Horrible, Rude, Arbitrary, Disgusting. BTW. I wrote a letter to the CEO about my experience at the time and I got no response. None whatsoever. Not even a form letter.
