This restaurant is definitely not practicing cleanliness standards that you would expect in a food service establishment. Also, I felt like I was a bother to the girl taking my order. Seems they’d rather joke with each other than interact with the customers. As for the sub, I ate half, but couldn’t stomach thinking about how it was made behind the scenes. The ingredients are all chopped up, so you’d never know…

Took too long to prepare the order and messed it up. This is the ONLY location that has ever messed up my sandwich. I asked for no onions and they put onions in. There was also no side pickle and no mustard on the sandwich. The sandwich was also soggy for some reason. They took twice as long to do the order(the place was empty) and the service lacked friendliness that I am accustomed to at other locations. Drive somewhere else!

I love Firehouse but this particular location leaves a lot to be desired. It is often dirty, the staff are not very prompt, and the food quality is not as good as the other locations. Even though it is the same ingredients prepared the same way, it’s throw together sloppily and the meat is shredded to the point of almost becoming a paste. Just gross.

This location is mediocre at best. The service is so so and the meat on the sandwiches comes out so chopped up, it’s basically been pulverized into a paste. The location on Austell rd is much better.

Second time here. I thought the staff was fine. Place was clean. Steak and cheese sub not so good. Bland, almost no cheese — and it sure wasn’t provalone! Having eaten steak and cheese subs in Boston, Chicago and Publix even(!), these guys can’t even come close. Once I got a turkey sub and it was just so so. Maybe the firemen should stick to fighting fires because they sure don’t know how to make any kind of special sandwich!

First time here and ordered a medium steak and cheese dine-in for lunch. They forgot to put deli mustard in my sub — the whole sub tasted really bland. The steak was under seasoned, and green peppers did not taste like they we’re sautéed at all. Should have just gone to a Subway.

Sandwich was great but service is the reason for 2 stars. No smiles, and took forever to get our subs. Only three other customers in the place

Outstanding steamed sub sandwich concept. Favorite subs include the Engineer and New York Steamer. Service is great as you will always be greeted with a «welcome to firehouse» when you walk in the door. Orders will also be delivered to your table. Super kid-friendly environment.

Best subs ever! Way better than Subway. Please build several in Los Angeles. California will love you!

Good buy subway it was nice knowing you. Today I visited firehouse subs. I had the meatball medium sized sub. From the melted cheese, to the sauce, to the meat and bread. This was one of the best I’ve had. Great sauce makes the sandwich. The service was excellent as well. Friendly staff. Very clean tables and floors. Oh yes I will be back.

Not impressed with the evening management/staff. I went in a week ago and the staff clearly felt making my sandwich was an inconvenience. I don’t think I will be giving them anymore of my money.

Certainly better tasting then Subway. I have tried the meatball and cheese and steak — both were good. I am getting hooked on the Coke Your Way machine… where else can you get Fanta Zero Lime? Good assortment of hot sauces. Space is smallish but it is kept clean.

Sold!!! Never had a desire to visit. I’m just not big on sub shops, none of them differ that much to me. I stopped in today though, since I was in the area. Let’s just say I had the best meatball sub ever. Service was friendly and I love how cute the shop was.

Very urbanite evening crew. My meatball sub they had no cheese on it and sauce was cold. I was only one in the restaurant at the time and 3 employees. Come on.

My first experience at Firehouse Subs and I didn’t even get a sandwich. I got the Chief’s Salad instead, so this review is based primarily on that. I think this is the only salad that Firehouse offers. It consists of romaine and iceberg lettuce, green bell pepper, cucumber, red onion, provolone cheese, tomato, a sliced egg, and one of the following meats: honey ham, sliced chicken, smoked turkey, chicken salad, and tuna salad. I got tuna salad on mine. The Chief’s Salad is big and for a salad, it’s actually quite filling and satisfying. The tuna salad is dense. I sampled my friend’s chicken salad and it tasted better. The Chief’s Salad is a simple and formulaic salad. The ingredients are fresh. I checked out my tablemates’ subs: the Engineer and the New York Steamer. They looked good and pretty filling at just a medium size. I can’t imagine how big a large sub is. Even the cups here are huge. I guess since this company was founded by firemen, everything has to be big. I like that they have one of those Coke machines with the digital screens so you can order all sorts of Coke products from root beer to Fanta to Vault. The store is brightly lit, spacious, and clean. The chairs are bright red and the tables have Dalmatian spots on them — yes, this chain is meant to resemble a fire station. There are a couple TVs on either end of the restaurant. The employees are friendly and service is good. They stayed open late for us. I’d like to come back to try one of their subs and one of their many hot sauces. Texas Pete* FTW. *Texas Pete is from Winston-Salem, NC.

I have been trying some new places in and around the area my new office is located in Smyrna /Vinings. I usually check Unilocal first to see which places are ranked highest and work my way down. Firehouse Subs was high on my list so I visited this place after one or two others. I have only have eaten here once and have tried only had one thing: The Steamed Pastrami and Cheese(New York Steamer I think is the name of it). It was very good. I got the large; with chips and a soda. Firehouse Subs is good but I cannot say it is damn good or the best deal for a sub /hoagie. The subs here are markedly better than Subway or Blimpie in quality but perhaps not quite as good as the sub sandwich line area(in the deli area[Boar’s head meat option]) at any neighborhood Publix. Perhaps deserves 3.5 stars but in this case I will opt for three.

I can’t help but compare this place to other sandwich joints(I won’t say no names!), but honestly… nobody else compares. They steam their meat/cheese together, and most of their sandwiches come«fully involved» which is mayo, mustard, tomatoes, lettuce, and onions?, I believe, unless you ask otherwise. No, there is no $ 5 footlong, but as Jang said, the portions are hefty, even for the medium(6 inches.) I’m addicted to the Engineer Sub, which is turkey steamed with swiss cheese and sauteed mushrooms. They let you add jalapeño peppers, banana peppers, salt, pepper, oregano, and whatever crazy topping you’d like at no cost. **Warning** Do not try to come here on your little 30-minute break. You might not get out in time UNLESS you call in your order. The whole concept is built around actual firemen so the inside is like an actual firehouse, and your kid(s) get a free fireman hat. Cute. Anyhow, hopefully this location doesn’t go under like it did earlier this year.(bought out) Although I don’t see how, because they make the best damn sandwiches ever! Will definitely be coming back… as always!

I would like to say Firehouse Subs makes the best sandwiches I ever tasted. But that would be an exaggeration. I have heard that from a few people though. I can see why. They have a million hot sauces lined up at the counter for you to try with your sandwich. I love that concept. I love hot sauces and good pastrami sandwiches, and Firehouse combines both. Watch out for some of the hot sauces though, they have some really hot ones. They don’t mess around with the portions. If you order a large, you will get a huge sandwich. They also stuff the sandwiches with plenty of meat. It can satisfy a hunger quite well. They also give you a free pickle with your sandwich. I like pickles so I feel special when I get one for free. I love their New York Steamer because of my love of corned beef and pastrami. Sure, I can eat healthier stuff, but healthy stuff don’t taste this good. I also like their Hook and Ladder sandwich. I haven’t tried their other stuff, but they all look good. With their hot sauces and good sandwiches, I recommend this place if you want some good, tasty, unhealthy sandwiches. I give this place solid 4 stars.
