I came across Keep It Natural on Unilocal and Instagram and I was pleased to see so many positive reviews. So I decided to give it a try. I went into the salon for a simple retwist on my locs. To begin I had made an appointment for 10am on a Tuesday and the appointment was confirmed through text message and email through their website. The morning of my appointment however, the stylist contacts me via text to confirm my appointment for 11:30am! I explained to her that was incorrect and I had received confirmation of a 10am time slot. She apologized but wouldn’t be in the shop for another hour so I had to wait until 11am to be seen. STRIKE1. When I arrived she took me immediately and asked if I just wanted a retwist and I replied yes. She washed and conditioned my hair and began the retwist. I was taken aback that she did not use a comb to catch my new growth to ensure it was secure. Also the product felt heavy on my head. STRIKE2! I have a few extensions at the crown of my head for repairing done thinning and another stylist was called over to do them. When it came time to dry my hair I had to be moved between three different dryers because they kept turning off due to wiring issues from their recent remodel. If I had know this I would never have booked my appointment from the start. The stylist barely spoke to me the entire appointment and spent majority of the time on the phone with various people and I felt my time wasn’t respected or valued. STRIKE3! It’s been almost a week since my experience and my hair is flaking from the products, and feels lifeless and loose. I have to now spend additional money to have my hair redone by a different stylist. Also she combined several of my locs, something I DIDNOT ask for, so I’ve been untwisting them over the past few days. Maybe if I was a woman with loose natural hair I would’ve had a better experience because the women that came in during my time left with AMAZING looking hair! I will not be returning to this salon again as I found them unprofessional and expensive(I usually pay $ 50 back home and paid $ 70 here) and for the guys, your locs WILLNOT be tight when you leave and THEYWILL flake.

Amazing! Amazing! Amazing! I was over joyed with the results of my hair after getting a thermal silk press. From the consultation, garlic scalp treatments & massages, to the HOTCOMBED press and precision cut! My hair and scalp were brought back to life. I loved the way all of the ladies helped each other out and they all offer their expertise on a client, no matter who the client is there to see. This assured me that my appointment was a collaborative effort and it didn’t matter what service I was there for, I would surely receive the best quality work. Healthy hair, versatility, and caring customer service is their specialty. I have long, course, thick, natural hair that can be unruly and hard to manage… thanks to the ladies, my hair problems… are SOLVED

I usually only Unilocal about restaurants but I had to speak about my experience at this massage spa. Atmosphere was very relaxing as well as very professional and knowledgeable therapist. Came in for a birthday message carrying a lot of tension in my neck. The therapist provided great strategies for improving sleep habits for reducing overall tension in my neck. The message alleviated the neck pain/tension after my service. I would definitely recommend this spa to everyone!

If there were more than 5 stars, this salon would definitely deserve it! The staff is amazing and every client that comes in, leaves out with an extra boost of confidence! Name a style and at least one of them can master it! They work together to give you the exact look that you want! I drive 3 hours just to get my hair done because I know that it’s the only place that will give me perfection! If you haven’t stopped by already, you’re missing out! The BEST salon around!

I’ve been a customer of keep it natural studio for about six weeks Even though Rakyai is my stylist, I’ve had a my first flat twists done by April and corn rolls by TeeTee. The finished product for both TeeTee and April as well as my first natural press by Rakyai made me proud to wear my natural hair. These ladies are extremely professional and throughly explain how each product behaves in your hair. I’m looking toward working with Rakyai. She puts the customer first and it shows!

I booked an appointment for my sister on her birthday back in March as a surprise. She hasn’t had her hair done professionally in about 3 years so I thought this would be a treat. I booked a month out on the online reservation portal. When the appointment date came two hours before her 7am appointment the stylist, Christina Ethelrey, I booked with text messaged me and states she won’t be able to do her hair. I said I had the appointment book for a month, she says she just found out and she’s not doing it.(Not sure how this issue would be a customer problem, as a professional if you can’t do it, you call your boss and see how the customer can get what they are asking for, but I digress). I text back and say well is someone else going to do it, it’s for my sister’s birthday. She then texts, I don’t know, call this number(salon owner). At this point I’m mad. Not only did you basically cancel my sister’s appointment you were rude at that. So I call the salon owner she says that 7 am is booked(in my head I’m like, yea I BOOKEDIT… A MONTHAGO, but I digress) She tells me she’ll call me back. She calls me back and tells me to bring my sister at 7:30. When we get there no one is there the doors are locked, I’m fuming at this point. My sister is like«it’s cool», because the pictures I showed her were making her excited. After 15 minutes I call the owner back, tell her no one is here and she says two people should be there, I say well they aren’t, that’s ok we are leaving. She then says no, it’s your sister’s birthday stay there we are going to fix it. So I was at least glad she acknowledged that, in ten minutes someone was there. They took my sister right away, she said her stylist was extremely nice. She did finger coils and she was happy with it. She said everyone was nice and knew she was the birthday girl lol However she said the owner never personally came up to her and even apologized. I feel as a business owner you would want to salvage respect with customer especially new ones. She built no rapport what so ever. The hair is great, but professionally the establishment needs LOTS of work. I had been looking at their work for a while now and we both were looking for a home salon and we spend loooooooooooots of money(weaves, dyes, every two weeks, etc.) in a salon. So my sister was essentially a test for this one. I just don’t believe they care or even need my money so our business meant nothing to them. 1 star for my sister getting her hair done, but I would not recommend and my sister said she would never go back.

I love everything about this salon. On my first visit the owner Rikya did a consult with me and convinced me not to go back to relaxers after 7 rough years of trying to manage a natural hairstyle. I needed a low maintenance hairstyle that was acceptable in corporate environments but also flexible enough to be fabulous on weekends! Stylist April A. did an amazing job on my partial sew — in and I love their focus on keeping your hair healthy. April A also did incredible work for my daughter’s prom hair, which was a complicated style. She was patient and really gave extra effort in support of my daughter’s prom. The staff is professional, acknowledges you when you enter, and maintain appointment scheduled better than I’ve seen at any other salons.

She is more of a celebrity caterer. My hair was so messed up when I left her salon. My weave was tight and I went back for her to fix it and when she«fixed it» my tracks were showing and half was falling out. I chucked it up and called it a lose. I tried to contact her and took pictures to show how the tracks was showing and falling out and I have yet to hear from her, however I am quite sure she will never do this to her«celebrity type» clients. Be wary she is not a caring stylist. I spent $ 300.00 for a weave that nearly cause hair damage and ad it in for only 2 days. CONSUMERBEWEARY!!!
