Wow, talk about expensive!!! I’ve been to about 20 tanning salons in the metro area and this one by far was the most expensive! In addition to wanting a nice summer glow, I also tan because I do pageants. I needed a place to go last minute near my friends house and so she told me about this place. The girl at the counter was very friendly, but the prices were not. Also the tan I got there wasn’t even that great. I laid in a bed and the next day got a spray tan. After two days, the tan was gone and she assured me that it would last at least five. I will never go back to this establishment again.

I agree with the previous two reviews. They are really expensive for what they provide and the atmosphere of the salon. I ended up getting the silver level. Boy they didn’t want that happening in the slightest. When I went to sign up, they did nothing but PUSH for the diamond level. When I told them that all I wanted was the silver level, they almost seem pissed at me. Then comes the 10-minute long pitch for you to purchase one or more of their lotions. Even though I said multiple times that I already have my own. On top of that, they did not give me a tour of the beds included before I purchased the membership. Regarding the employees themselves, most were rude and were only concerned about making a sale. About one or two girls were genuinely nice and interested in helping me get a great tan. Other than that, the norm was to be cold and disinterested. I did not feel welcome and I will not return here again after my membership is up. It is worth mentioning that the silver level does include a leg tanner, which I thoroughly enjoyed. About every 2 or 3 sessions I would use the leg tanner and it did produce some nice results. I will give them that much.

An update to my situation… after contacting corporate, I was called«unkind» and vengeful” and was threatened that they would not help me until I removed my Unilocal review. I have attached the e-mail below so I will not misinterpret or misrepresent what was said. I have been in customer service for over 14 years and think that the response from Solar Dimensions is not only unprofessional, but absolutely appalling! I am looking into contacting the Better Business Bureau to ensure that others aren’t treated like I was. The sad thing is, if I was offered an apology for their wrong doing, I would not feel the need to warn others about this establishment. If they fixed this issue in a professional matter, I would have updated or removed my original Unilocal review. After reading the e-mail that I received after 10:00PM last night, I will not remove my Unilocal review to «earn» my 2 tans. I was exercising my freedom of speech. I’m not interested in a «public relations/customer service» rep judging my actions or telling me what I should and should not do. I do not believe that my original Unilocal posting was nasty, I simply stated my account of what happened and how we were treated at the Smyrna location on 3÷15÷14. «Kay, If you emailed us what happened I’m sure we would have worked with you very quickly to help out. All of our vouchers and advertising materials very specifically state the 14 day expiration on these deals and we virtually never have a problem with this. You’re basically receiving a $ 40 Session, a $ 33 Session, and a $ 25 session for $ 19.95. So of course we have to put a time limit on it. Most of our competitors do a 7 day limit so we try to be very generous with this. Unfortunately, instead of coming to us and asking for resolution, you took it upon yourself to bad mouth us on the internet. You did this to cause harm to our business and to seek personal satisfaction of having the power to do so. This is not the way to get help. We have been family owned in Atlanta since 1995. We employ 150 had working employees at 19 locations. The large majority of them care about their clients deeply and work very hard to earn their business and trust on a daily basis. No, we’re not perfect. Communication issues happen. But guess what? Every single company has occasional issues. Every. Single. One. I’ve had good companies provide bad experiences also — intentionally or not. But I would always bring this experience to higher management or to customer service department and give them a chance to fix things. I would not berate the company on a public forum BEFORE giving them this opportunity. I don’t believe in that, I think it’s wrong, and I think it’s a very unkind and vengeful action. So if you’d like my help — I will be more than willing to provide it. I’m here to make sure our customers are happy — often times even if we did everything right. But first you can go to Unilocal and anywhere else where you berated us and delete your horrible post. When you do this, I’ll make sure that your sessions are unexpired and you can get your visits done at any of our 19 locations. I have already spoken to all management about being a bit softer on keeping with rules and being as upfront with everything as humanly possibly. So I thank you for that feedback. And this is exactly what you should have led with instead of the nastiness that you posted so quickly, and initially even for the wrong location! Regards, Alex Royter Solar Dimensions»

Yikes. Well, I moved to the area, so I was looking for a good tanning salon. I look for low prices, and the 8 or 10 minute beds. I also expect a friendly staff that knows the difference between UVA and UVB and what their beds actually offer.(I know, I expect so much!) Coming here, they would not give me a first tan free. REDFLAG! They do have some nice looking beds so I decided to pay the 40 for a week to try them out. They end up selling me a package for two months at $ 100/months(a lot more than the $ 50 or so I would expect…). When I come back for my next visit, they are putting me in their lower level beds. Typical 20 minute beds-the same burn machines I used a decade ago. They also had a 10 minute standup bed that was not worth the 100. month at all! I was surprised at the bait-and-switch. There is probably one staff member that is friendly, the rest act like bored girls… None of them were knowledgeable on the type or percentage of radiation coming from the various beds. Bottom line, they are over priced for cheap beds. SOME(not all) of the beds have nice fans, or a radio — I really don’t need to pay for a fan and radio built in… I want good color with less of the harmful radiation. FUNFACT! If you want a regular 10 minute standup bed, go next door to Retro Fitness. They only charge 30/month(including the gym membership). But it is an IDENTICAL bed for $ 30 unlimited. Oh, and they let you try one for free. Don’t ever trust a tanning salon that doesn’t let you try it first.
