I don’t understand the hype. I’ll never forgive this place for having the RUNNIEST queso dip ever. The tacos are not my thing but I could see how some people like them. I would rather drive to Marietta for La Carreta.

An authentic Mexican taco spot. Reasonably priced and great food. I got the 3 taco meal; chicken, steak, and pork. Service was quick and food was delicious! Will definitely be back

They catered an event that I was at and I must say, their food and service was impeccable! I’ve not been to their location yet but I will definitely be going soon! The tacos al pastor and their chicken quesadilla were so so so good. And they have so many different salsas and sauces to garnish with. Be careful of the Diablo salsa though! It’s no joke!

If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food this is the place. I had tostadas and tamales. The tamales were some of the best I’ve ever had. The food was very fresh and tasty. They have a fresh ingredient bar that has fresh made salsa and other fresh ingredients to top your meal with.

Great place for authentic Mexican food. Prices range from cheap to reasonable. Service is fast. Good selection of Mexican soft drinks. The place used to be a Quizno’s; some of the décor and chairs are still there :-). Seating is limited; if you plan on visiting with a large group for lunch, come early. All the food is good. I enjoy the taco plate when I’m in a rush. It is usually ready before I sit down. Highly recommend!

Pro: Delicious Authentic Mexican food for a reasonable price Con: No bar = No Margaritas This restaurant is in a small plaza in the same parking lot as Olive Garden & the Goodwill, chances are you’ll pass right by it if your not in that parking lot for a particular reason. I heard about this spot via Unilocal,& I’m so glad you did cause I have now found my official local Taco Tuesday spot. I’m a sucker for a taco(w/beans & cheese) combo, and is place has that and at a reasonable price. 3 tacos(with 1 of SEVERAL meat options & you can mix and match), rice, beans AND a drink for $ 5.39!!! How can you beat that? I had chicken, steak, and shredded beef(w/cilantro & onions) all delicious. The only thing I would suggest is the shredded beef should sit in some juices a little longer to make it more tender. But it was still good. I tried their Guava Juice(something I’ve never had before), and they get a plus AND gold star for NOT putting ice in my cup. I got a full cup of the juice, & I’m not drinking anything else now when I go back. There’s also a small bar with different salsa and toppings that you can add to your dish. They don’t have hard shells, which is good for me because hard shells don’t travel well with to-go orders. It’s a small little spot, so don’t be upset if you go in & your only option is to get it to go cause there’s no seat(particularly during lunch time), but this place is definitely worth a visit & I’m going back … I might get nachos next time

Good food at an affordable price(3 tacos $ 7). Definitely authentic and you can tell from the environment and the taste! Only four stars because, after reading other reviews/pictures, I’m certain I was unknowingly up-charged because I wasn’t of local flavor… Will go back for lunch if in the area, but will practice some pricing scrutiny!

A quite little place in a busy stripe mall on I-40… This place doesn’t look very happening but the food is very good. We loved the lamb nachos. It’s huge and big enough for 2 to share easily. The lamb was perfectly cooked and drizzled with just the right amount of melted cheese in top. We also had tacos with chicken, marinated pork and chorizo all of which were good and fill of flavor. The Lea Compadres had chicken and shrimp and came with rice, beans and a drink. Recommendation: next visit I would start with the lamb nachos and then go ahead. It might just fill u up… that’s how big it is.

My Mexican co-worker told me about Tacos La Villa because he loves it and says it’s authentic Mexican. He said the same thing about Las Tacos Locas and I loved it. Tacos La Villa is in the same shopping center and close to Yakitori Jinbei. We went around 11 am to avoid the lunch crowd. He says it gets crowded really quickly and surprised that a lot of non Mexicans love it. It is also really cheap and you can get a taco plate for only $ 5, including drinks. I decided to order the chicken taco plate but took a bottle of water. Honestly, I wasn’t impressed. I felt the chicken was too plain. I’m always about flavors and don’t need sauces to make it taste flavorful. Maybe I should try another dish next time. All I know is that I was disappointed with the flavors but not the price.

Ok, so the place is not much to talk about in terms of the décor, but it’s not bad either. It’s still decently fresh, spacious and the open kitchen helps. We had the taco plate with chicken, chorizo and marinated pork, and I loved all three. The plate comes with rice, beans and a drink and that’s just an awesome combo. Te salsa bar is full of options to optimize your meal. Got a plate of the les compadres which is chicken stake(which was dry), shrimp, a salad and rice with some tortillas on the side. The highlight though was a plate of nachos with lamb meat! Oh man was this good! The lamb meat tender, flavorful, simply a delight for the taste buds. Must have there apart from the tacos

#tacotour2016 Definitely worth a visit, and a second visit, and a third. I travel for work all over the country and have made tacos my go to for fun. Luckily, this taqueria is right in my back yard. I am a fan of traditional, simple tacos. We had the three taco plate with two chorizo and one Barbacoa. It was awesome! This may be a weekly go to!

Delicious tacos, reasonable prices, and fast service… you can’t beat it! I ordered the taco plate which came with 3 small tacos made with corn tortillas, rice, beans, and a soda for $ 6.66 with tax! The best part is that you can get three different tacos with your order and there is a toppings bar with cucumber, cilantro, salsa and much more so you can top your tacos the way you want them. I got a chicken, steak, and a lamb taco and thought the chicken was the best. They have a nice selection of Mexican sodas and beers and they have Tres Leches cake! I, unfortunately, was full so I didnt get dessert. I will definitely be back when I need a taco fix!

Quick 1 visit rating — I’ll definitely be back. Tried the Taco Plate on first visit to Tacos La Villa, and got the Carne Asada, el Pastor, and chorizo. Carne Asada was fairly average, the el Pastor was delicious, and the chorizo was outstanding. Love the salsa/toppings bar. The taco plate comes rice, refried beans, and a drink, for about $ 6. Great value — I’m definitely looking forward to trying other options. The place is a zoo at lunch, but they move quickly(my order came out probably 3 minutes after I paid).

This place is always crowded. Customers can be a little rude but that’s to be expected because it’s a small spot. I don’t like the seats being so close together and near the cash register either. But the they have a lot of folks trying to get in and the food is freaking great.

I’ve been working in the area for about 6 months, and I finally went to see what all the hype is about. In short, the hype is real. Authentic is truly the word for this place. From people screaming out your order number in Spanish to the actual food, dining is a genuine experience. I ordered 4 tacos: el pastor, chorizo, barbacoa, and steak. Once you get your tacos, you can then dress them up with various toppings on your own. Of those four tacos, I like the first two the best; the pastor taco is really rich in flavor, and the chorizo has that nice balance between spiciness and smokiness. All tacos are served in corn tortillas(yaaas). Also, the tacos are pretty small; I could eat each one in 2 – 2.5 bites. It really does get busy during lunch hours; so it’s best to eat and be out because you want to be considerate of patrons coming in and looking for seats. The seating is more accommodating for groups(rather than eating on your own). Individuals eating by themselves in 2 or 4-seater tables did make it a little more difficult for my group to find a table, but we found a table eventually since there’s a good rhythm between people coming in and people leaving. An easy 5 stars based on today’s experience(busy but not crazy busy; no long lines today).

Dinner Taco Plate(two carne asada tacos and rice and beans) $ 5.59 This place brings back nostalgic memories of King Taco and El Tarino in Downtown Los Angeles. Is it the same m? Nope. Is it the best nope. But it curves the taco craving. I give it 3.5 of 5 stars. Constructive Criticism: They will get their. Native Mexicans cooks doing a great job making tacos. The meat was dry but their condiments(salsa, etc) was on point. Wish they were open till 3am like in Southern California. Ohh and they have Bohemia– the real Mexican beer, not that gringo Corona.

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Atlanta. Whenever I get homesick I visit Tacos Las Villa for mariachi music and Mexican food. Full salsa bar. Oregano, Saxon Topical, and plenty of hot sauce for food on tables. Big tacos at a little price. Tacos come with meat only. Clean inside with hand sanitizer available. Friendly staff. Large selection of Mexican sodas, beer, and Jarritos. Carnitas is super juicy. Carne asada needs more salt, but it’s my favorite out of the meats. Mechiladas: Come in a tall beer mug with choice of beer. Large Hispanic clientele. Chicken Taquitos: Crispy but not hard with lots of meat inside. Topped with sour cream and lettuce. If you live in Atlanta and know good Mexican food, or want to find out what great Mexican food tastes like, this is the place.

This place is great! My BF and I came here a few weeks back and it was fantastic, and super cheap! It’s an old Quiznos, and they didn’t put much effort into hiding it, but the food is awesome! The tacos are great and I ordered the toastada(probably spelled wrong) It was so delicious and the ingredients were so fresh. We came here for lunch and it was $ 12 for both of us and we were stuffed after, seriously crazy cheap and delicious. Try for yourself, it’s awesome!

**So, I went on a bit of a taco tour y’all! I got the idea from the folks over at Buzzfeed which is seemingly the most fun place to work on the planet! A group of Buzz-feeders decided to go on a tour around their city eating their weight in tacos. It made me so hungry for tacos that I decided to do the same thing. Of course I started on Unilocal and visited some of the highest rated Taquerias around the city. Yum! This was an assignment I could really sink my teeth into and it’s inspired me to do this every so often, experimenting with various genres and specific dishes. If anyone wants to join me, just let me know! :) ** The second stop on my tour was Tacos La Villa, I was curious about its great reviews and the fact that it used to be a Quizno’s in a former life. In fact, all the Quizno’s artwork is still on the walls so it’s a bit of a mind-f*** to about eating authentic tacos there. But then you smell the food, you see the crazy lunch lines(seriously, don’t come here at lunch unless you have the luxury of a two hour lunch break) and you know exactly where you are. The tacos cost $ 1, you can’t beat that! I ordered four tacos: Asada, Carnitas(my favorite), Chorizo and Al Pastor. I added a side of rice and beans and it all came to less than $ 7. Win! Someone told me that you know a restaurant is authentically Mexican when they wrap the meat in a double taco. La Villa definitely does this even though they don’t make their tacos in house. I thought that might count as a strike against them but the tacos they use taste so good that, had I not SEEN the wrapper, I never would’ve known. La Villa’s uses flour tacos unless you request corn… I appreciate this as I learned that most places do the opposite and I just like flour tacos better. Their meat is delicious and flavorful and they don’t skimp on it at all. My favorite taco, surprisingly, was the al Pastor. I say surprisingly because I’ve always been a Carnitas girl and this was my first time trying al Pastor so I didn’t expect to like it so much but it was fantastic! There’s a bar for your add-ins: cilantro, onions, various salsas and whatever you want. I wish the bar had cheese but maybe that isn’t authentically Mexican enough? Either way, I was very happy with the first stop on my tour and ready to compare La Villa to other restaurants around town to see how they stacked up. **SPOILERALERT** La Villa got my vote for my favorite of them all!

Scouring the area for something decent that wasn’t a chain, Tacos La Villa came on my radar. What I likely would have missed amidst a sea of shopping centers and strip malls, this rather unassuming Taqueria puts out some great tacos for a cheap price. A bit overwhelmed with all the delectable choices, I decided to do the 3 taco plate($ 5.99!) and I chose the Carne Asada, Pastor, and summoning my inner Andrew Zimmern, the Lengua. All were quite good, and I found the Pastor to be my favorite and the best of the trio in my mind. Second would be the Lengua, and as odd as beef tongue sounds, it is usually a favorite at most taquerias so eventually you have to try it, as I did. The meat was soft, tender, and juicy. While I liked the Carne Asada, I thought my other two choices outshined it. So I definitely think the reviews live up to the hype. If you’re craving some legit street tacos, this is your place.

Ay yay yay! Me quesiera muchos tacos! Tacos por un dolar por favor! Great variety of $ 1 tacos! Steak, pork, ckn, beef tongue, etc. I like the chorizo the best, so flavorful! The tacos come ‘naked’ for you to dress at the toppings bar(salsa, onions, cilantro, guac sauce, cucumbers, pickled carrots and radish). Everything is so fresh. Careful the guacomole sauce is spicier than you think! Ay los mios! Fast service for a quick bite. Olé! I’m pretty much a regular now. Delicioso! My only problem with this place is that I thought I walked into Quizno’s since the décor was not changed and I almost walked out the first time. Ay yay yay. P. S. I watch too much Dora the Explorer…
