I love this place. Good beer selection, solid margaritas and an ever evolving menu of innovative mexican fusion eats. The moco Loco torta is the best sandwich I have ever eaten. Period. Everything else is stellar too. Sad to see the plantains go, but I can’t by any stretch say I was disappointed in the least.

Great selection of tacos, I’m working my way through the list and haven’t been disappointed.

The food is okay, but overpriced for what it is. I got tacos and what the menu said they had in them is not what they came with. Chips and salsa are not free.

Calle, I want to love you! The things that are good here are fantastic. The margaritas are top notch, like seriously WOW. The carnitas is simply amazing… not fatty, super flavorful and not overly salty. The chicken burritos were great too. I love that it’s not the usual over cheesed tex mex that is rife in this area. The thing is, the bad is really quite extreme too. The chicken tacos with the white sauce were insanely inedibly salty. The steak taco meat is very mediocre. The chips and salsa policy is random– sometimes complimentary, sometimes free but you only get them if you know to ask, sometimes charge. The guacamole is not good. And many times you will order something and it will be different from the menu description and also different every single time you get it. The interior is not very well thought out IMO. I am not kidding that we have skipped Calle a few times just because of that. The minimalist not-cozy-at-all thing CAN work. But it isn’t working here. It needs plants or dividers or … something. I get it’s supposed to be a street exterior theme, but it needs a bit more work. If they did that and managed at least a bit of consistency we would come a lot more often!

As many others have mentioned, the service sucks. The waitress who waited on us seemed very unhappy that we were there. The $ 1 tacos on Tuesday are pretty good though.

I understand it can be pretty busy on taco Tuesday, but waiting an hour for small dollar tacos, without being offered any chips and salsa to hold us over, is a bit off putting. Not sure we’ll be back. The meat, when we did receive our food, was excellent.

Service was lacking right from the get go. The setting is sort of like a Qdoba that has a bar. Any thing we needed we had to ask for, limes, water and the check.

A big thumbs down… I don’t understand how a couple of the reviews rate this place so high. Best to pay attention to the«real» reviews and avoid eating here… Unfortunately, I don’t believe they will last for long without some major changes to their menu. My wife and I dined there last Sunday evening at 6:30pm and there were only two other parties. The servers are very kind and the cook/chef even tried to modify my wife’s dish a bit to help with her Whole 30 diet by removing the tortillas and just serving on a plate. Unfortunately, she missed the request for no cheese on my wife’s and whole beans instead of re-fried on mine. This place is WAY overpriced compared to other choices in the area. They said that«all the margaritas are skinny». Well, they were… skinny on alcohol and ingredients, that is. Not to mention they are priced about double what other places charge for the same. The food was okay, the menu was tiny. The whole taco truck idea leaves you with paper napkins that resemble toilet paper in a gas station bathroom. The interior is just a big square room with a small bar and a few televisions — it resembles the inside of a Taco Bell a bit. Overpriced, lackluster feel, mediocre food, and very poor menu. You even have to buy your chips and salsa. The staff was great and will easily find jobs elsewhere. UPDATE: Unilocal removed this original posting as they said, «It looks like it was meant for another business». Very frustrating! So… I have included a picture of my receipt to prove my unfortunate mistake of dining here.

Our fourth visit yesterday. Kept going because of one particularly stellar meal, but couldnt replicate it on future visits. I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s best to stick with their basics — tacos and house margaritas(though the strawberry Margarita was good too). These basics have been consistently amazingly good. Service has varied over our visits. Seems best at the bar, particularly when busy. They’ve expanded their menu recently, but I’m just going to stick with those great basics.

Cold. Bland. Over priced for what you get. The hot sauce only makes it semi-edible. Save your money for $ 1 tacos on Tuesday and avoid trying anything else. Edited to respond: Thank you for your response. I ordered the steak fajitas. As I said, they were cold. Even the cast iron skillet they arrived on was relatively cold for a fajita skillet. It was a very bland meal. The steak and beans were void of seasoning in any detectable amount. The«steak»(as you call it) could be better described as «shavings of cheap low quality beef-like product» and that is exactly the experience one has in consuming the very skimpy potion of actual«meat». The fajita skillet is mostly vegetables which is why I said its over priced for what you get. The waitress finally brought some hot sauce after I asked halfway through the meal. By that point I was already positive I would not be returning. The hot sauce at least added some flavor, but it was still very disappointing. Even the rice was crunchy and undercooked. It’s a shame because I work in the area and am asked regularly if your restaurant is any good. Up until now my answer has been«I haven’t been there, but I hear the taco Tuesday is good.». My answer will be different when I am asked in the future.

We love this place! Good food and I can’t wait for them to bring back horchata! Also please bring back the refried beans, if people are complaining because they want whole beans instead of refried beans they can go home and bake some beans! I loved your refried beans before people complained and wanted whole beans so you took it off the menu. Other than that the food is so good we come here all the time for lunch and dinner!

My first time here. The service was very good. The food was good. I had the street tacos(Taco Tuesday) and the chicken one was good, but a bit bland. The pescado one was better but not much fish. The side of rice and beans was really good. The guacamole was way too many tomatoes — mostly tomatoes! The chips and salsa(complimentary) were good. The major problem, in my opinion, is the lack of sodas on tap. Pepsi in a can! It’s of course overpriced! It’s hard to take a bar or restaurant seriously when they are serving soda in a can! Will I return? Meh. Not sure.

Great place for Mexican food. I had the chicken burrito bowl with guacamole. It was huge! And so good. Fun atmosphere which got a little loud as the evening went on.(Probably because we don’t drink and the margaritas were popular there) But don’t get me wrong, it was very friendly and my wife and I had a lot of fun. Open space with sports and other channels on multiple TVs. I feel like we found another fun place to eat and we will definitely be back!

I recently fell in love with this place in the last few months! I’ve only been on Tuesdays for $ 1 street tacos and they are AHHHHHHMAZING! I absolutely love this place. Tuesday evenings get a little hectic because people are starting to catch on to how fantastic these tacos are. But they are worth it! — especially the steakon taco!!! Brendan has been my waiter a few times and he’s seriously just the best… he makes a MEAN strawberry margarita, too! I bring so many friends with me on Tuesdays — I’m just trying to get everyone on the Calle train!

Got the Groupon deal for 2… they brought us the tequila first, we didn’t get to choose which kind we wanted, so you know its the cheap stuff they have in the back… gross…they wanted us to «sip» the tequila similar to wine tasting. GAG! ok so for the food, the taquitos were hard as a rock and dry… the plantains we get were also dry :(the only thing that was good was the $ 2 tacos… will come back for those, and that’s it. $ 50 for some foul tequila a dry/hard food… no thanks. ps we dumped the tequila in our water glass to make it look like we drank it LOL

Great food… But poor service. Not enough servers for Taco Tuesday and the girl took a good 30 mins to bring us our bill. Please hire more staff as this seems to be a consistent theme from the reviews I have seen. EDIT: magically we were charged double for our meal thru their square cash app. Don’t know how this happened but troublesome… Beware, seems like a bad decision to go here unless you reallllllly want some pretty good tacos.

I see several negative reviews of this place but, based on MY experience, I can say that I loved it and will go back! My party of 3 visited on a Saturday evening and the place was not too crowded. They have a small menu but a good variety. They specialize in street-style $ 2 tacos, soft, flat corn tortillas piled with meat or veggies. My GF ordered one asada and one asada with wonderfully caramelized onions on top. She also ordered a side of their plantains. Everything seemed fresh and was very tasty. I ordered the, «El Super Taco,» with chicken. It was a large, fried flour tortilla filled with whole beans(they don’t do refried here) chopped chicken, pico di giao, shredded purple cabbage, and I asked for their habanero sauce. OHSOGOOD! They didn’t put enough habanero on it for my insane liking but happily brought me a bowl of the stuff to punish my mouth with. Not too salty and again, very fresh, colorful, and just plain GOOD. It is NOT greasy, Americanized Mexican fare like most family Mexican restaurants. Think Azteca, or Mazatlan or all the identical tasting places. It was cheap. A person could order 3 tacos and leave full for $ 6. Well, eat some chips and salsa too. My meal was 9.00+ tax. Azteca would have charged $ 15. All of the sauces were fresh, flavorful, and NOT loaded with sodium. I was 100% satisfied. The staff was friendly and attentive, refilling our water glasses and asking how we were doing. WILL go back.

A group of four dined here Friday night. Parking is free and plentiful. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Tabs were easily split. Since I have dined at the Mount Vernon location several times, I couldn’t help but compare the two establishments. The Mount Vernon location is more authentic to me and still my favorite of the two. Chips and salsa are complimentary. Originally my wife and I ordered a couple pints of Dos XX. Since they were out we settled for Negra Modelo. Our friend ordered a pint of Blue Moon, which they also happened to be out of. Irritating. Pints were running about $ 4.50 each. Friday’s are«Five Buck Friday’s»: $ 5 Jimador, $ 5 margaritas, $ 5 nachos, $ 5 taquito basket and $ 5 quesadillas. My wife ordered the $ 5 nachos: topped with beans($ 1 extra is you want meat) and cheese. Simple and nothing too exciting. I ordered the $ 5 taquito basket: quantity 3 shredded chicken taquitos topped with cotija cheese and sour cream. My wife didn’t care for these at all. I thought they were ok. Service was slow but super friendly. Overall, I’m going to stick to the Mount Vernon location in the future.
