After reading Unilocal reviews decided to check this place out as we just moved near by. Came in on a Thursday night and was greeted by a young girl. She stated that orders would take a while as they have mostly phone orders that are backed up. We were debating on the 25 minute wait and some douchebag comes from the back and says very rudely«yea guys we are busy and don’t have time to take dine in orders right now.» Huh? Since when do phone orders trump customers in your dining room? Very weird. We thought the guy was a douche and took off. Came back a few weeks later for a second try and the food was not all that. Very small portions & very over priced. Steak tacos were good but not worth the price tag for a take out experience. Chicken was gross(rubber texture) and not even edible.

Love this place! Some of the best food I’ve had but I don’t love how they don’t serve on plates when you eat there. I get the concept of it being a quick counter service restaurant but it can be hard to eat some of the food from the to go box. Especially if the food is going to cost me over $ 12+ per plate and having it take a little while for the food to come out. Being next to the joint and hardware store and gas station, this place is really good and deserves a try!

Always fresh, flavorful and beautifully prepared & presented healthy meals. THEFRESHEST ingredients — the salad greens tasted like they had just been picked, and after speaking with the owner, we found out that he had literally harvested them this morning. Every bite is perfectly seasoned and balanced. Hubby had his«usual» blackened salmon tacos marinated in a chipotle sauce and served with fresh pico de gallo, jalapeño tartar sauce & jasmine rice. I had the grilled salmon salad — a niced big portion of fish on top of lemony quinoa, flgarden fresh romaine & arugula, grilled baby bell pepers, candied pecans, fresh seasonal berries and a light & creamy lemony dressing. Yum!

So this review is mostly about their desserts. My cousin and family recently ate dinner here and raved about the friendly service, owner, and amazing food(fish n chips and their tacos). So when they came over they brought over a couple crème brûlées and bread puddings. Even after a 45 min drive and being placed in the fridge for a few hours, the crème brûlée still had a crunch on top. You could even see some real vanilla seeds in the custard — it wasn’t just vanilla extract! It was really good — I’d give it 4 stars. Now the item that gets 5 stars is their bread pudding with the tequila sauce. It was beyond amazing! I HATE tequila yet this was probably one of the best bread puddings I’ve ever had! If I’m ever in the area, I’ll stop by just to pick some up to take home!

The best service and some pretty great food. It’s Clearview… When you think of fine dining, you think of driving to Bellevue or Kirkland or Woodinville. This is casual GREAT food. Try anything. Yup, it can be cold in there… And it’s not fancy, but the best places are hidden behind your prejudices. If you need a recommendation, try Rob’s Skirt Steak Tacos… Also truffle fries and cowboy tots, and the calamari.

Stopped in for carry-out today at noon. When we picked up the food I asked the cashier if they cooked with nuts or nut oils she said«Oh you’re probably fine».(Not something someone with an anaphylactic nut allergy can rely on) When I pressed her further she said, «I’ll double check with the chef.» After some discussion with the«chef»(and I use that term very loosely) she came back and announced that sometimes they«deep fry their nuts in the cooking oil»…WTF? CLEARLY food allergen awareness is not a priority. Never going back. Oh and your steak tacos were gummy.

I believe this to be the best quality lunch, in terms of the food itself, within a 10 mile radius of the location(so considering Snohomish, Clearview, Mill Creek, and Bothell here), and a «hidden gem» for those travelling through the area. I make it a point to visit here once or twice a month even though it’s a bit of a drive for for me. Food & Drink: I’m impressed by the quality of food this place puts out consistently. I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad meal here, and frankly most are fantastic. This goes from the consistent menu items to the specials. Everything is fresh, high quality, seasoned well, and has great spice. You’ve got fantastic selections that hit the entire spectrum, including beef, chicken, pork, fish, or vegetarian. Even the most finicky eaters would be hard pressed to walk in here and not find something that interests them. Some of my personal favorites on the regular menu include: Cajun cowboy chicken sandwich, salmon sandwich, and fish tacos. Some of my favorite specials I’ve had: Andoulle mac and cheese, Korean pork BBQ sandwich, and a pulled pork cheesesteak. The fries and tots have got to be double fried and cajun seasoned(making an educated guess here), because they’ve got great crunch and spice. The only item that I think is slightly overrated here: The French dip. I find the roast beef a bit too thick for the sandwich. In terms of drinks there’s fountain drinks, some bottled teas and sodas in the fridge(including Mexi-coke), and they do sell beer and wine. My only complaint regarding the food and drink? Pricing. It’s not outrageous. You could argue it’s not even a bad deal in terms of food to cost ratio. It’s really about the fact that you’re getting, and therefore paying, for a lot of food. That would work for dinner, but for lunch it’s spendy. I’d say your average bill is going to be around $ 15. You get what you pay for, but for many it’s going to be understandably offputting. I’d ideally like to see difference between lunch/dinner pricing. Ambiance & Service: On the west side of Highway 9 in Clearview, next to «The Joint» and«True Value Hardware & Feed»(another great find by the way), you’ll find Cunios. It’s in an unassuming strip mall, and when you walk it the place looks just as incognito on the inside. It’s a very basic and simple décor, with tables, chairs, and flooring that you might find at your local Subway. You’ll find lots of local high school team posters which gives it some charm. The decorations are minimalist in nature. Noise/sound carries given these two facts. Perhaps the most obscure thing is the original old sign from when it opened(Mongos) which resides on the ceiling. It’s still a very casual spot that screams«lunch». Staff is warm and friendly from the owner Chris, on down to the front of the house. The sous chef and cooks are also cordial and friendly, though truthfully they are pretty busy back there preparing the food in an area that allows the customer to see some of the action. Meals are carefully prepared, and thus do take more time that you might expect, but they are good regardless of day/time you visit. Insider Tip: Closed Mondays Final Thoughts: As the current«Duke» of Cunios, it was long past time to give this place the strong review it absolutely deserves. The pricing for lunch, and the ambiance(which makes it not optimal for an intimate/group dinner) are the only things keeping it from a perfect score. –AC

Best service & food! My husband and I went for our first time and have been back several times since. All of the staff is so kind and amazing, especially the owner. He always goes the extra mile to make sure we are experiencing their food to the fullest, and that includes the dessert! OMG… No really that’s what the dessert is called chocolate OMG. Get some! We have not had a meal I haven’t loved! Highly recommend this gem of a restaurant!

I have no issue with the price here! This is in my wheel house with flavor. If you want your food a little on mellow side this isn’t the place from what we ate. This is full flavor and home made. Chicken sandich, some mondo noodles, garlic fries, beef tenderloin barley soup and crème brûlée. Very engaged staff. IF this was on regular plates and silverware add $ 2 – 3 a dish and still worth it. So glad we don’t have to go to Seattle to get this food.

Can’t believe we’ve lived here for a few years without going here. The food is amazing. I had salmon and chips and it was a revelation. Ordered chicken strips for my daughter. It was well breaded, a good balance of breading to meat, and they were super juicy. My wife ordered the Filet mignon sliders and they were cooked perfectly with amazing grill marks and perfect internal done-ness. They were a little on the rare side for my wife but I loved it. Prices aren’t low. But the food is quality and that’s apparent. Feels wrong to pay so much for take out service(seriously, no actual plates? Dishes don’t take that much and they’re so much better for the environment), but the proof is in the pudding. And it’s there. Hella dope food in the middle of Clearview(thank you, owner, for doing dope stuff for such a tiny community. Super inspiring). Go here.

Stopped in for dinner. Here’s what I think: 1. Closed on Monday’s. That really plays no role in my review, I just want to let y’all know. 2. Expensive. Most meals are $ 14+. When I pay that kind of money for an entrée, I don’t like placing my order at a counter, and/or being served my meal on a Styrofoam tray. 3. Food takes a looooooooong time to cook. Almost as long as it might take you to prepare such a dish for yourself at home. Our meal took about 40 minutes. Most meals took a long time, and patrons acted as if they had been before, and knew it would be a while. We ordered a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich, Kataifi Prawns entrée, and one kids meal. No drinks. Kids meal did not even come with a drink. Our total was $ 39. Will we be back? I dunno. This place cost a lot of money, and I didn’t like waiting that long for my food.

My wife and I really wanted to like this place. Everything on the menu sounds good, but they fail to execute. Almost everything is too much of something — too salty, too sweet — there’s no balance here. The Kataifi shrimp itself is good and worth trying as are the tots, but everything else is over-seasoned and overwhelming. The noodles are way too sweet and the only flavor in the slaw is of sesame oil. Poutine here is fried and salty food on top of fried and salty food. I expected to love it, but the sodium overload made it unpleasant. I’m not one to waste food, but I could not bring myself to finish my dish. Service is good and so are the prices, but when you need to drown yourself in water to dilute all the salt in your mouth it’s not really worth it. It was nice to try, but I wouldn’t come back.

In a strip mall on SR9 is a «divey» little food place, but once you step inside you will be astonished. It is a very nice place to eat, but it is the food that will have craving more. They had a wide variety of meat entrees, filet mignon sliders, salmon mongo, bacon cheese burgers and their French dip specials on Thursday and ribs on Friday along with their truffle fries. I was really impressed with this family owned restaurant. My Chicken Mongo was spectacular with fresh noodles and enough heat to make it come alive. My dinner partner had Fish and Chips and he compared it to a upscale seafood restaurant. I highly recommend it if you are up in the Clear View area. This is the place!

I stopped going here for the longest time because Google Maps showed ‘Mongos’, the previous name of the business as closed. Clearview is a bit out of the way so I never drove past the place to verify. A few weeks ago I was in the area and drove past and noticed that Cunios looked awfully familiar to Mongos so I stopped in. I was so happy to see that this hidden little gem had simply been re branded. The Calamari or the skirt steak will always be the two go to items for me. I’ve had the chicken breast once and enjoyed it, but there’s something about that skirt steak man. It’s worth the few extra miles to drive out of the way to get there and if you’re headed back to Snohomish afterwards the view coming down the mountain is a perfect way to end the evening.

Tried the shrimp and pasta. Mediocre at best. extremely overpriced for what you get. On the plus side the service was excellent. If i went back I’d definitely order something different

Great owners. Food is mostly. Good a couple of the items need work like the burger. Always dry and overcooked with a weird funky taste. My favorites are the skirt steak tacos and the steak sliders. I would rate higher but prices are high, hours of operation are lame. Not open past 9 on Friday or Saturday? If you eat in you still have eat out of a cardboard box. Either make portions larger or lower the prices. Still with all the gripes probably the best place in Clearview to eat. Kudos for having good beer on tap.

This place is very unassuming. Everyone I tell about this place that drives on highway 9 a lot always thinks it’s a burrito place or teriyaki joint, and not upscale American cuisine. Cunios has some of my favorite food around. It’s really good higher quality food but at really great prices. I love their filet mignon sliders. The meat is medium rare with great flavor and tender. They have new specials every day and there always great. The food and service here are awesome but I can’t go a full 5 stars because they only serve in Styrofoam even if you eat there and I can’t help but feel guilty with my pacific northwest sensibilities.

The food here was really impressive. The feel of the restaurant is really weird though. I wish I could give it a 3.5 star review. It has gourmet food but it comes in styrofoam boxes which you order at a counter and go sit down. I really loved the garlic noodles but the noodles that came with the phylo dough shrimp was overwhelming. It was also so cold inside I kept my ski jacket on the entire meal. It was weird to eat fancy food out of Taco Bell accommodations so I am really torn about this place. I’d eat there again, but maybe in the summer so I can enjoy my food out of my layers. And try to Chocolate OMG dessert because it was certainly OMG!

What can I say… middle of nowhere Snohomish… simple yet fantastically tasting food served in unprotencious ‘to go’ boxes(yes even when dining in). At about $ 13 a main dish, this place is well well worth it and we will be back again.
