Hands down best bbq I have ever had, and coming from a country girl, that says a lot. I will be a frequent eater here! We got the 3 meats with 3 sides. Perfect amount of food for my bf and I.(We both eat like baby dinosaurs)

Got a recommendation from the waitress at Elliot Bay Pizza in Mill Creek (a great place in itself) She wasn’t wrong about the awesome food, and we’ve been back several times! The owner and staff are great too. This is our #1 choice for BBQ, and have tried everything except the sausage. Not only are the meat choices perfect, but the sides as well. The corn bread could be a bit bigger portion as a side dish. I ordered the BBQ salad with pulled pork and was blown away by amount of meat on it and the flavor! The prices are what one expects from a BBQ place. A full rack of ribs is the best deal when one sees the quantity of meat. Mark W.

Great smoked meat is the only way to rate a smokehouse, so I have to give J&L 5 stars! I had the pleasure of meeting charming Joel while he was out back nursing some briskets to perfection on a rotisserie smoker of his own design. Just the fact that Joel, a metal worker turned restaurant owner, is the master chef behind the BBQ should tell you that this place is the real deal. His brisket is unbelievably tender, with a great smoke flavor, and their home made sauces provide just the right tangy kick. Roll up your sleeves and get some real BBQ at J&L’s!

So… we’ve passed this place many times… always wanting to stop! We finally did; and it was worth it. Scared at first because it was empty and the BBQ was off(not smoking). Soon though, our doubt turned into determination to give it a shot. The owners were super nice and very accommodating! Ordered the food, …and soon after came some really tasty BBQ! The brisket was spot on and the ribs were done just right! Can’t ask for a better BBQ joint, and what’s even better, it’s local! The owner smokes meet daily! We will definitely be back!

I admit I was a bit skeptic when this guy opened his doors, the 3rd proprietor there in as many years. The previous guy had health problems and was rarely around. But there were no awards of any bbq county fair competition. I gave it a try and had the messiest but nearly the best pulled pork sandwich ever. Tender and juicy, it did not have a ounce of fat on it. They also just finished some tri tip on the rotisserie and it melted in my mouth. The service was great, I love the real oven baked mac and cheese. You guys don’t need awards on the wall, the proof is in the constant beat of foot traffic going in this place. I will be back and recommend to all.

My husband and I went in to J & L on a whim while in the area and all I can say is wow! The place is tiny and there is seating for maybe 15 people. We went in on a late Sunday afternoon and as soon as we ordered a stream of customers started coming in. Our food came out fast. We ordered the brisket, ribs and pulled pork with the baby reds and gravy, cornbread and coleslaw. Everything was tasty and I especially liked the sides we ordered as they all had a twist to them that made them unique. All of the meat items we ordered were tender and the sauce was delicious! This is definitely a spot we will return to on a weekend since we don’t live close by. It’s probably the best bbq that we’ve had so far in the area and is worth the drive to Snohomish.

One of the best BBQ we had so far in Washington State. Love the flavor, the tender of the meat and the BBQ sauce. People here are super friendly. We would love to come back.

Three words of advice: «Get the brisket.» One word to describe it: «WOW!» The other reviews cover it pretty well, but this place is REALLY good. We got a sampler of ribs, pulled pork, beef brisket, plus some sides. Everything was very good, but my two favorites were clearly the beef brisket(prob the best I’ve ever had) and the corn bread(make sure to add the cinnamon honey butter). Top notch BBQ at a very good value. You wont be disappointed

Excellent Barbecue, good service and great price. Pulled pork. Beef brisket. Pork ribs. Baked beans. Cornbread. Absolutely amazing. Joel got his training based off his family’s North Carolina roots, but had been able to expand beyond the pulled pork NC is famous for into a Texas style brisket and Memphis style dry rub pork ribs as well. The brisket carried the hickory smoke flavor perfectly, and unlike many of his competitors, Joel does not overcook the meat. In addition, he leaves just the right amount of fat, so the result is a moist and intensely flavorful bite every time. The bark adds the right amount of chew to the bite. The pink ring Aarons rav slice shows a perfect amount of smoke penetration, complementing and enhancing the beef flavor in just the right proportion. The ribs: to anyone who had been to Memphis and knows what good dry rub ribs are supposed to be, you won’t be disappointed. Again, the bark and smoke penetration are exactly right. The best part is the amount of cooking — the meat easily pulls away cleanly from the bone without slipping off. And the flavor! Sauce truly is optional. Highly recommend! Let’s keep this barbecue place in business!

Fantastic !!! I can’t say enough positive comments about this place. The Bbq is AMAZING!!! The owners are kind and helpful. What a great upgrade from the previous owners. Snohomish needs great little places to eat and we have it in BBQ thanks to these sweet new owners!

Stopped by to have lunch and see if the new owners had bested the last… they have. Owner was very friendly. They had redone the décor which is way better than before. Order was out quickly. I had ribs and brisket and two sides(cole slaw and potato salad). I didn’t care for the sides and the ribs were just ok but the brisket was phenomenal. I’d go back to get that again and maybe try different sides and another meat option. Far cut above the last owners. It’s worth going in and although I didn’t like the sides it may be a personal preference to how they are made. BBQ sauce was good too.

This place came highly recommended by some of the locals. A+ service right off the get go. The gal was very friendly and helped me with a custom order because I wanted to try a few different items on the menu. I ordered brisket, ribs, pulled pork, chicken thigh and potatoes in gravy and corn bread. Best brisket I have ever had!

The local Snohomish paper had an article about change of ownership on this BBQ… used to be the 3 Pigs. Had half rack of ribs with cornbread and potato salad… med sauce on ribs. Ribs were super moist with lotsa meat on them… sauce was full, sweet with just a lil heat… perfect. Loved the cornbread and homemade potato salad. I grew up on a farm in Mizzurah(Missouri, for the rest of ya’ll)…and this reminded me of our sauce back home. I had the hot sauce on the side, will defer on it… to me, it defeats the purpose of the meat with too hot of sauce. New folks are real upgrade on previous… this is the real deal now for great BBQ… am going back to check on rest of menu!

Glad we randomly picked this place as we were driving by. Tiny little place. Great food. Friendly staff. Inside the place was a little on the chilly side though.
