Is this restaurant related in any way to the Don’s that used to be in Burbank, CA? I loved that place.

I had the pot roast dinner and it was home cooked. An older crowd was present after church lunch. The ambiance was great. An out of the way place with big city appeal. I will definitely return. Closed on Tuesdays

Came here while waiting for my daughters play practice. I had the prime rib french dip it was delicious. however I was very unimpressed first that I asked if the mashed potatoes were real and she said yes they arent. Also the service sucks. The lady was abrupt and acted as though I was waiting her time or something. Although I was one of only 2 patrons. I’d go back for the food if I’m in small town soap lake but I won’t go just because they are so great.

Very nice experience ! The only issue was trying to find a menu online. We would’ve preferred calling in an order, but there was no on line menu available. When I called, they were extremely accommodating and explained the menu, but it is very extensive, and it would have been very convenient to have available online. I ended up going in to the restaurant to read their menu, and ordered while there. I took a to go menu with me, and posted it with my review. We ordered the jalapeño burger, a shrimp salad and the kids grilled cheese. All were very good.

We were in Soap Lake for the annual hydroplane races. After a long, hot day we decided to go with our friends to Don’s — mostly because it was so close and we were starving! That and I was intrigued by the big billboard as you enter Soap Lake that reads«World Famous Don’s Restaurant»(makes me chuckle). The first thing we noticed was that they close at 9:30 and it was darn close to that time, but they didn’t hesitate to seat all of us knowing that we’d be there a while. The place was busy! I’m guessing it’s not usually that way after 9PM unless there’s an event in town. The staff were scurrying to keep everyone happy, and doing a good job from what I could see. We had a couple of servers during our visit — one friendlier than the other, but both were taking care of us. While we were waiting for our food, they brought us a basket of tasty bread and butter for us to snack on. Our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, especially based on how busy they were. Everyone seemed to be happy with their dinners. Our group of 6 ordered fish & chips, fried shrimp, and a several of different steaks. My wife and I ordered the Don’s Sirloin Club which comes with a choice of potato(fries, baked, etc) and salad. My salad was cold and crisp. My baked potato was fine(they bring you sides of butter, sour cream and chives), and the steak was big and flavorful. It was a little tougher than I’d prefer, but based on the thickness and the fact it’s a top sirloin(very little fat), it’s not going to be like a rib eye or New York steak. To sum it up — good food, good service, decent prices… and in Soap Lake of all places! When we go back for the hydroplane races next year, we’ll definitely eat at Don’s.

We wanted to love Don’s after all the good reviews, but we didn’t. This is the only real gig in town. We were immediately turned off by the plastic coverings over the table cloths. The restaurant was was clean and we were there on a busy evening. We wanted drinks and a light dinner. My husband had a flat beer and I had a weak old fashioned. He ordered the Greek salad($ 11!). It came with a pile of romaine, ONE kalamata olive, feta, half of a tomato and one anchovie. We were surprised how small it was for an entrée salad. I asked the waitress for more olives. It took 15 minutes and she brought us two. We assumed ordering something Greek from a Greek restaurant would be really good. We were wrong. I ordered a bowl of the oyster stew which came in a vat and was delicious. We elected to cook in our cabin the rest of the vacation.

I had lunch here with a friend who lives in Soap Lake. He said it was the best lunch spot on town, and from what we had for lunch, he was spot on! We had Greek food, and it was the best I’ve had east of Seattle. The food was served with plenty of fresh vegetables, and the portion sizes were perfect for lunch. Prices were reasonable and the service was very good: friendly, helpful, and attentive. There were lots of options on the menu, seafood, classic American fare, steaks — lots to choose from. I was very happy to eat here, and can’t wait for an opportunity to go back and enjoy another meal at Don’s.

Dons is the place of choice! Love staying at Notaras and eating at Dons. Prime rib is amazing and their tenderloins wrapped with bacon is to die for! Good pours on mixes drinks and the best blue cheese salad this side of the Mississippi! Eat here and soak in the mineral tubs that will add years to your life just next door!

I love Don’s! We loved it so much, we ate here twice on our trip. The prime rib is huge and delicious. The side of mushrooms is in a truly magical sauce. The martini’s are fabulous and definitely don’t miss their special Don’s salad dressing that you can buy to take home… I’d go to Soap Lake JUST For a meal at Don’s!

When we decided to stay in soap lake, I didn’t imagine I would find food this good. The prime rib was large and excellent: juicy and cooked just perfect with a baked potato, salad, fresh baked bread, and(included and unmentioned) baklava for dessert, it was more than I could eat and I felt sad I had nowhere to keep leftovers! The early bird special(4−6pm Friday Saturday) made that dinner less than $ 20 after tax, which felt absurdly cheap for the quality. If you’re passing through or staying in soap lake, it’s worth a stop.

Small town steakhouse with a Greek twist! Good cook on both the steak and salmon. Wait staff on the ball! Would return.

The service was a little slow but they were really busy and it did not stop them from being really sweet. I ordered the early bird prime rib and so did my Fiancé. We were very impressed! It was a lot of food and every bite was perfect. It was a three course meal plus bread and worth every penny.

Their Club Steak is phenomenal and good size for $ 20 ! I love how they have mature waitresses in lieu of Barbie Dolls & the menu allowing ALL customers feeling comfortable in ordering. Where could you get a cup of soup as a meal for $ 3 or a meal for $ 8? Quality Quality Quality. I love eating at Don’s!!!

There’s a general lack of decent food nearby, as I expect with a small town like Soap Lake, but that’s seriously not the case here. Don’s never fails to produce really fantastic steak. The quality of meat is excellent. My husband always gets the burgers and they’re hand-pressed patties with lots of fresh toppings. They have an odd smattering of tasty Greek dishes that are totally incongruous with the feel of the restaurant(more on that later.) The waitstaff is friendly and long-employed. The bar is well stocked, the bartender knows what he’s doing, and is really friendly if you want to sit at the bar and chat. They just installed a window on the north wall of the restaurant. This is actually significant, a) because it provides a nice distant view of the lake and b) it surprisingly gives the room a slightly less«50 year old wall treatments and old lounge» feel. It’s been years since the state banned smoking in restaurants, but everything in this place gives off the impression that any moment someone’s going to light up a cigar and add to the patina. Don’t let that deter you. You needn’t worry about your lung health. You should be more concerned for the state of your pants after the filling meal you are sure to enjoy.

The door going into Don’s confused me to pieces but I went in there and got the«open faced steak sandwich.» I’ll be durned if it wasn’t a piece of toast with a god damn steak on top of it. Anyhow – it was delicious. If I’m ever in Soap City again I’ll make sure to stop in and have a brew.

Discovered this place when we were staying at the charming Notaras Lodge across the street. With Soap Lake being so small, I wasn’t expecting much, but I was wrong. The food was REALLY good and they had a nice variety of choices for both lunch and dinner. The setting is dark — no windows, and lots of low lighting. But I thought it just added to the charm. Everything was great. It’s definitely the go-to restaurant in the area.

This is the best place for excellent steak, especially Don’s Club which is a thick sirloin. The price at $ 19.95 with salad, potato, and bread cannot be beat. I order it medium and it comes on the medium rare side which is perfect in my humble opinion. If you come in the middle of the week, don’t be put off by the low turn out — remember you are in a tourist town. I sit at one of the tables in the bar — the locals and other long time patrons gather there. There is lots of flexibility — just ask. The wait staff have been there a long time and give good advice.
