Cove Barber Shop

It’s what a barber shop should be, totally not PC and a nice relaxing place to get a haircut. Dave and Alton never lack for conversation and give a good cut. Only negative is Alton is a Cleveland Browns fan.

Went to this little shop for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. I have my go to guy, but due to my work schedule and the schedule of my barber, I am unable to always get in there when needed.
Got my usual two on the sides, with a taper, a touch off the top, and cleaned up the neck and sideburns, with the straight razor to the neck for the cherry on top and I was out the door and back to work.
Vanessa is the only girl I think I have ever allowed to give me the gentleman’s cut I prefer and she did a great job. Will definitely be visiting her again and for $ 18+tip, I’m quite satisfied.

Happened to be in Del Mar with an hour to spare. Figured I’d get a haircut. Drove up a few mins to Solana Beach and walked right in.
Dave is very friendly and professional, great conversation. Haircut was fine, took care of what I needed. If I lived in the area, I would be a regular.

I go here and it’s a good cut at a good price. My buddy Ian suggested I go here after hearing me complain so much about the cost of all other hairstylist places I’ve been to. I had some weird notion that my hair is difficult to cut well and thought barber shops do military type of buzz cuts. Okay, so I was stupid and turns out I’m not so special and barbers can cut hair as well as buzz cuts. Who knew? Manny is friendly and does a great job lowering my ears. Cove has a new customer.

Ok the employees are so sweet and friendly I don’t want to give them a bad review. The last haircut my husband got here was a little uneven but most times it’s fine. It only costs $ 18.00 so this isn’t a high end salon.
So let’s just say you get your moneys worth and a nice conversation to boot.

I followed Dave here when he made the move from the Coast Hwy shop. All the barbers here are great. I always get a good haircut and they don’t charge much for it. My 93 year old grandpa as well as my 3 year old son are also patrons. It is a very relaxed atmosphere and always full of good conversation.

yet Dave Schenk and the Cove Barber Shop have been around for a few years.
Dave Schenk is the owner and one of the main barbers. I met him originally at Solana Beach Barbers on Hwy 101 when he worked their years ago. I’ve had mixed haircuts there.
Dave I found was worth following around. He bought the Cove Barber Shop as a side business as well as the hair salon Salon by the Cove which shares the same address.
The hair salon and barber shop are separated by the way.
I think it speaks volumes of Dave that I’ve followed him throughout the years. The barber shop is clean. It’s got a few flat screens, Dave has a positive attitude and is a great conversationalist.
I can easily give him 5 stars.
