North Coast Repertory Theatre

Lovely little local theater in Solana Beach.
I had no idea that there is a theater so near where i live and i have never been there till now.
Recently I had a pleasure of watching a comedy play called «Now You See It». The play was hilarious, the acting was fantastic. I enjoy the small feel of the theater and there is no «bad» seat in the house.
You don’t see many people in their prime going to see plays nowadays, what a pitty. maybe its the west coast laid back culture where pple prefer watching sports or going to the movies.
I always enjoyed performing arts and appreciate talented actors.
Looking forward to coming back to this neighborhood theater in the near future.

(A Piece of My Heart) I just saw this performance tonight. I have seen a lot of plays in my life time. This was off the chart!!! I don’t known that much about the Vietnam war. Especially about the women who are rarely spoken about. This was fabulous!!! Tomorrow they will have there last performance. If you have the time, Go watch it. It won’t be a waste of your time.

Way downriver, was AMAZING!!! The performance of the whole cast was so enjoyable. Aikins, played by Richard Baird, keep me spellbound through the whole play. What a GREAT SHOW, thank you all for sharing your wonderful talent with us!

Took my guy here for their annual Twilight Zone event! What a great diamond in the rough! It’s like having a bit of downtown right in your own backyard!
Very personal and up close to the stage and the actor! Connected to a little café type set up. Small selection, but really great vibe!
The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 stars is because of the location of the restrooms. They are not connected to the theater and you have to walk upstairs in the suite of offices. Not very fun!

I wanted to start off by saying how much I love going to plays. Not many people in their 20s-​30s will be seen going to plays. It seems to be a dying activity that’s reserved for senior citizens. All I can say is, I hope plays will still be around for my kids because it’s such a fun activity that’s perfect for people of all ages!
Anyway I digress… North Coast Repertory Theatre is a non-​profit theater hosting some fantastic plays. It has such an old-​school and intimate feel that is just so hard to find nowadays. The theater room is quite small, making for a homey feel between the actors and the audience. My boyfriend took me here to see Sherlock Holmes and the Adventure of the Great Nome Gold West & I had a blast! It was just a very wholesome & fun way to spend the evening. I read some of the bios of the actors in the play. The man who was playing Sherlock Holmes was a theater teacher at a local high school! I thought that was really cool. I’m not sure if the other plays at this theater feature local actors, but that would be great if they did. The only thing I would change is the fact that the seats are extremely small. I’m a small 5’2 female and the seats were just right for me. Unfortunately for the man next to me, who looked like maybe 5’10 and 200 lbs… well, let’s just say the seat was definitely a bit of a struggle for him. Other than that, I loved the entire experience. The people working there are very helpful and friendly. I can tell they love working there, which makes this place even more precious. I really hope they continue to receive adequate funding so they can keep operating for years to come. I want to be 70 and still coming here to watch plays.

I have been a patron and a volunteer at North Coast Rep for many years. The theater provides great shows without the «LA» or «NY» prices. The productions are always well done, outstanding actors and staging. Many of the shows are West Coast or World premieres as well as some popular favorites. Highly recommend.

I have been both a patron and volunteer here. I love this little theatre. Quality shows and actors. A good view from every seat.

Went to see «Betrayals». The play was ok, but the theatre was stifling hot. They turned the AC on for a few minutes which made it fairly tolerable. Then they shut it off again quite a while before intermission, and it quickly became unbearable. So, we left without seeing the rest of the play. Probably won’t be back.

What a cute theater… very intimate. We saw «Chapter Two» which was HILARIOUS. Our seats were second row center and they were fantastic. The theater is in a shopping plaza with plenty of free parking. We received a program as we walked in and to the left of the theater was an art gallery and café with beverages and what smelled like fresh baked cookies!
The seats in the theater were comfortable and every seat has a good view of the stage. The acting was incredible, believable, and passionate. All of the volunteers/​ushers were friendly. I love that I found a theater in North County with excellent performers.
The only downside was the restrooms were outside and upstairs with only two stalls so there was quite a wait at intermission. Not horrible, but the only «negative.»
Excellent hidden gem in Solana Beach. I’m looking forward to returning.

My wife and I love this place. we have see tons of plays and been going here for years and ran in to an old friend Dick and his wife that volunteer there. this is the best place to go for any performance, the best people employed and that volunteer. never had a bad ticket and love all the plays.

I just returned from seeing Neil Simon’s «Chapter Two» at the NCRT! This is my third play there and all three were really good. I went to see Fallen Angels and also Gunmetal Blues. It’s definitely worth checking out!

We went to see Fallen Angels last night and had a fabulous time. This is the perfect «Local Theatre» experience. There isn’t a bad seat in the house. I come to this theatre a few times a year, and have been coming for many years. In fact, I used to have season tickets. I’ve enjoyed most every production I’ve seen here.
Fallen Angels had a GREAT cast, and was thoroughly enjoyable in every way! Their upcoming line up of plays looks fantastic too!
When you are looking for a fabulous night out– look no further! North Coast Rep is well worth the money for their tickets, it’s convenient, and charming!

New production of «Fallen Angels» by Noël Coward. Fun night out. Great cast, sets, costumes. Perfect venue; not a bad sight line in the house. Nice coffee/​wine bar in the lobby with fresh cookies baking all the time.
Time to buy a season ticket!

The Ira Gershwin show is coming back — I saw it last year and it’s worth seeing again!

We have been season ticket subscribers for many years, This is the most enjoyable theater in the county. The shows are well produced, well cast, and always great fun. The small theater provides an intimate experience we appreciate — no bad seats in the house though long term subscribers get seating preferences. We hole season tickets to San Diego Rep, attend most La Jolla Playhouse performances, but always leave the performances at North County Rep commenting that if we had to choose among them, this would be the top pick.

Great local theater. It’s not a super big theater so if you see they are doing a show you’d like to see, buy your tickets ASAP. Wonderful productions. Great casting and their creative team always does a good job of bringing their shows to life!

This is an awesome local theatre! Easy online service, or you can just go to the theatre and buy tickets at the box office. The play I attended had AMAZING actors and it was very well done! I will definitely be coming back.

Consistently good shows with some that are truly Outstanding. Always worth going there and season tickets are a great bargain. All seats in this house are excellent. A local gem!

We just purchases our 2^nd season for this little gem of a theater. The shows are acted well and it seems there isn’t a bad seat in the house because it’s small. My husband and I feel this is a good value for entertainment, as well.

i am so embarassed that i have lived near SB for so long, and have NEVER been to this theater.
my daughter’s girl scout’s troop purchased tickets for Rapunzel.
AMAZING to sum it up.
the actors were talented, professional, perfect.
such a quaint, intimate setting, they interacted with the kids with ease, which they loved.
they had my attention the whole time, and that says alot!
will come back for sure, probably for Pinkalicious!
