We have newly discovered them after a bad experience years ago… came back and now we are regulars. Getting better ever visit… nice selection and tons of food

We get take out often from the Solana Beach location. In the last year, about half of our orders have been messed up — wrong items, missing items, overcooked pasta, watery sauce, etc. The manager has done a good job of making it right when we complain, so we continue to go back. He/she has comped us several meals for our trouble. Generally the food has been good when staff gets our order right. Takeaway — thoroughly check your order before accepting it.

I’m being generous at 3 stars. Pretty average food. Pizza was fine, but very soggy. Greek salad was OK. Wings were nothing special. Caprese salad was very disappointing. Tomatoes in the salad were terrible. And since that’s half the salad, it was not acceptable. Tried the Arrabiata pasta, which was also OK. So, mostly OK. But nothing special.

This has been some of the best pizza I’ve had since I was in Naples. My mother in law loved the lasagna, and the chicken picatta was perfect. Our server Annie was absolutely on point; the appetizer was timed just right, and her menu suggestions were fabulous. A server who is knowledgable and personable is a rare and awesome find!

Just moved to the area ordered pizza from here for delivery. Came in 40 minutes like they said. They gave me the wrong pizza but free garlic balls not sure if that’s because they messed up on the pizza or not next time I’ll be calling dominos

Connor is an awesome employee and I have to say he is SUCH a benefit for this restaurant because of his incredibly friendly attitude and great customer service. I’ve never walked out of pizza nova feeling like I did that day Connor helped me.

The gluten free pizza is the best I’ve had, hands down. Not too many restaurants cater to gluten free — who can argue with great taste and healthy to boot. Try the Hawaiian!

I frequently go to the Solana Beach location. Great variety of food. Awesome service. Mike, Web, Kaitlin, Kristin, Kris, Steph and newest additions to the staff Austin and Chris(I know i am forgetting some folks) make me feel like part of the family. My new favorite item on the menu is the Swordfish. New update, I need to add a shout out to my first person aka server at the Nova. Annie you are the best. You have taken excellent care of me for the last 5 years. Also adding Nick to the best staff ever.

Service is excellent as always and so is the food, we had the lunch pasta and pizza with salads and they are really great large portions, the only thing is the soda tastes a little off, and they said its because they got a soft water system at this location, but offered a canned soda instead.

I’ve been to Pizza Nova a number of times. They seem to be all over the place, the newest franchise craze(move over Long John Silver!). Years ago it would be the dinner of choice when visiting family in Hillcrest. After that location shut down, we actively set out to find another because we liked it so much(either that or it had become a welcome and comfortable respite from our problems). I can’t remember how the food was back then, but I do recall, when we found a Pizza Nova in San Marcos, that I loved both the Meatball Sandwich and the Chipotle Lime Chicken Salad. Recently we discovered this location close to us and made a point to finally come out and give it a shot. I’m not sure if this one is worse than the ones visited in the past or if it can’t live up to the memory, but it still felt exceedingly average. Anyway, the Solana Beach Pizza Nova has a good sized outside patio(where an older woman sat with her very furry Spaniel that kept jumping on her lap over and over) and an interior with very constricted aisles and a walkway to the bathroom that includes part of the kitchen you have to move through. Like most Italian places, you’re treated to table bread in the form of warm balls bathed in a butter sauce with a terrific garlic bite to them. The woman who sets my heart ablaze had Mary Lou’s Chicken Salad. She found the roasted peppers mushy and unappetizing and the dressing a bit overwhelming. The croutons took the form of whole slices of bread, toasted and cut into quarters which was odd, but not terrible. All in all, she ate while being hungry, but was disappointed with the overall quality despite looking forward to a salad all afternoon. Our son had the Cheese Pizza Kid’s Meal. This was impressive in size and very tasty for something made for a toddler. The restaurant was also nice enough to give him crayons and paper to keep him occupied for most of our visit. I think he made out quite well. My mother and I split the Fettuccine Alfredo after being told by the waiter that it could feed two with the addition of a salad. What we didn’t realize was that the waiter meant a salad entrée and not a side one, as the whole of the alfredo would have barely been enough for just my tiny sprite of a parent. Thankfully, table bread was plentiful and my toddler only ate half of his dinner, disaster was averted. As for the fettuccine itself, it wasn’t as salty or rich as one would hope. When you order a dish so full of butter and cream, you’re hoping for a richness of flavor that makes the assault on your arteries worth the damage you do by eating it. Now, this review may sound like a 2-Star, but it still ranked about average. Alright, but nothing better than just good. I’m sure we’ll go back one night, and hopefully the outer deck will be free of shedding dogs and the owners that have to scratch them every few seconds while cackle. When the time comes, I will try that meatball sandwich again, and maybe have something more positive to say.

disappointing food, inattentive service. I’ve had some good meals here but lately the last several times have been really underwhelming. Mediocre service, and really underwhelming bland food. I ordered the lasagna last time and it was a joke how small and sad it was. for $ 17 it was an appetizer portion and about ¾ of an inch thick, very little meat, very little cheese. on top of that the staff were all hanging out at the front counter paying little attention to the guests needs. had to wave someone down several times to get anything. this was my experience for more than one visit here.

This is a very delicious restaurant the marguerita pizza was great! The salads were fresh tasting and the service was excellent. They immediately brought us garlic knots which were spicy but very good overall. If you’re in solana beach come stop by pizza nova.

Everytime I come here the service is very promt and accomodating. After sitting for just a moment drinks are ordered and bread is served. Im very particular about pizza and i can be quite hard to please. Once i tried their Pear and gorgonzola pizza i was sold. It was so delicious and keeps me coming back. The atmosphere is great, the service is great and the food is great. I have tried some other pizzas that are good as well but i highly recommend ther pera and gorgonzola pizza, you cant go wrong!

I’ve been here a number of times and I love their house salad with chicken or their lunch specials with a salad + pizza. This time I got a salad and Thai chicken pizza. You can get it with gluten free crust though I got regular. They first bring you these garlic rolls(usually 4), which I love. You can also ask for the rolls to be plain, but why take all the fun out of it?! The salad and pizza is a good deal for lunch. I’ve always received great customer service here and this visit was the same. Pizza is flavorful and the salad is filling. I’m particular about my salads, but this is a real good mix of things to satisfy you. I will tell you my favorite thing ever here is the spicy chicken wrap! It’s a huge wrap that you can even save half for later! I always ask for extra sauce to go.

The first time I went here was about a half hour before closing, and they were very accommodating. I didn’t feel rushed at all. I was trying to decide between the Mac and cheese and the spicy chicken wrap. The server said«I would recommend the chicken wrap over everything, I’m actually having them make me one right now.» So I took his advice and ordered the wrap, with high expectations. My favorite part about the wrap is the wrap itself, it’s more of a grilled pita bread wrap, than a sandwich wrap. The chicken is good quality, and I’m picky about chicken. The chili Aoli is really just a spicy, chipotle mayo. It’s so good and they have always given me extra on the side. Overall my experience was great. I’ve ordered the wrap to go as well, and they still give you complimentary garlic knots, which is fantastic! I haven’t tried any other menu items so far, but I’ll definitely be going back again.

I order delivery from time to time, just basic pizzas & salads. Everytime, they mess something up. During most trips to the actual location I’ve seen almost all of the teenage waitstaff texting. Not surprising since they can’t get a phone order right. MEDIUM does not equal small. F’d up Saturday night dinner.

Came in to place a to go order to carb load for a race. I was looking for spaghetti and meatballs, and was disappointed that they didn’t care the most common Italian fare. So I opted to order what was close to spaghetti — penne pasta with meat sauce and a large side of meatballs. The to-go order was a good portion, but hard to eat out of the container.(I was eating in the car while the fiancée drove.) Located right off the Lomas Santa Fe Drive exit in the shopping center just east of I-5. Lots of parking and shares the building with other businesses.

I had a really great dinner here! I went in tonight with the fam bam and had a super cute waiter(Dillon?) who was excellent! He could tell I was hungry and brought us out some of the yummy garlic bread rolls quickly. He was on his A-game even though the restaurant was busy. Always been a huge fan of this place but felt that I was taken care of especially well tonight! P.S Make sure to get the Mac and Cheese but add pancetta!

Our family used to go to Pizza Nova years ago, and for whatever reason, we’ve gotten away from it. I was out and about this weekend, and wanted a quick bite. I decided to wander in. I was pleasantly surprised to see some new décor. It was a nice change from the last time I’d been in. I’m studying for a new license, so I wanted some time to do that before ordering. The server was fine with that, checking in with me just frequently enough, to see if I needed more to drink, or was ready to order. I didn’t feel either pressured or ignored. I ordered the lunch special, with salad and pizza. I must say, the salad was fantastic! I think it was their«house salad», and it had a really light, but delicious dressing, and some dried cranberries, a bit of cheese… just perfect! The pizza too was delicious, and I had ½ of it left. All this, and my bill came, with a drink, to $ 11. and change. The only thing I don’t LOVE about Pizza Nova is that all of the outdoor dining is covered. When I sit outside, I like a bit of sun, and I always feel like I’m in a wind tunnel when the whole thing is covered, so I sat inside. I was pleasantly surprised, and will be back for that salad again very soon! And, as always, the garlic bread balls were scrumptious!

The first AMAZING item of note is that we ordered for delivery at 8pm on a Friday night(I’d love to say this was pre-going out but, alas, late 20s lameness has occasionally set in so delivery was the big plan! Haha) and it was at our door in under 30 minutes! That is unheard of in most places and is especially awesome in Solana Beach where there are few delivery options as it is. The pricing was very reasonable, the pizza was delicious, and the free garlic bread balls were such an outstanding surprise! I had read reviews about how good they were and I ordered the«baked garlic» app(also delish, btw) thinking that was what everyone was raving about. Needless to say we had way more food than we needed but I can’t wait to order from Pizza Nova again! The salad and pasta options also look super enticing. Definitely a five star experience!
