I am blown away by Roman. I came to him after I had a really bad haircut. I wanted some highlights to kill the pain because I assumed there was nothing else that could really fix it. Not only did he give me amazing golden highlights that look super natural and didn’t damage my hair (I have very dark hair), but he also was able to fix my horrible hair cut. He took the time to explain to me what sorts of things I need to do for my hair specifically to keep it healthy. He was very personal and engaged. I am very picky about my hair so I’m just amazed I found someone this great who I trust. I highly recommend him!

Hands down the most talented hair stylist to have touched my head. I found Roman on a whim searching for a hair stylist to tackle my hair, proven to not be the easiest of tasks for many. AND MY GOD am I thrilled with what he’s done! Thanks Unilocal!
Here’s the deal– I’m one of those ladies who will go forever without getting my hair cut because I’m terrified they’ll want to chop it all off or get too creative on my head. (It’s happened, usually ends in tears.) And for that I’ve never felt a real loyalty to a hair stylist. After my consultation and experience with Roman, I will no longer see anyone else and I will be driving from Los Angeles every six weeks, simply because he is so talented.
The consultation was very in depth and I felt like he truly listened and delivered what my vision was for my hair cut. I have a lot of hair– it’s long, it’s thick and just when you think you’re getting through it– theres more! Roman is extremely skilled in adding layers, keeping length and adding a massive amount of volume to my hair in the way it is cut. Can we talk about the blow out? Once he took the round brush to my head it looked like the most delicious locks of buttercream icing on a cake. AH! I left the salon a whole new woman! If you have hair like mine, seriously, look no further you are in excellent hands.
He also keeps great conversation, amazing energy and personality and very thoughtful with each move he makes. He’s the total package, book him now!

Roman is the master in what he does! He knows everything about every hair type and he gave me the best suggestions on how to take care of my hair. He gave me an amazing haircut and did a wonderful job with my color. I can totally say it has been one of the best hair appointments I have ever had! After moving here 4 years ago I have gone to at least 10 salons and never could get anyone to listen or even know that my hair is very, very fine. They did just what they wanted to do and I left disappointed. I Unilocaled again and decided to get a male hairdresser this time as my old hairdresser was a male. They just seem to listen more!
Roman listens, but what I really like is he gives me his opinions also. After all, he is the pro! He really discusses the texture of your hair, style, etc. My hair was in bad shape after all the things others did. Roman has a distinct way of cutting hair and also a different way of coloring your hair. I could never have highlights because they would dry out and look like sandpaper, but not with Roman. They are soft and stay that way!!! If you have a hairdresser that really knows how to cut your hair, you don’t need to put much time into it and that is exactly how my hair is. He also gives me advice on how to keep my hair in great condition and finally, I have the hair, style, cut and highlights I have always dreamed of!
The most remarkable thing is the first time he cut my hair I couldn’t walk into a store, down the sidewalk, etc. without someone running up to me asking me where I got my hair done. It is still happening even after all this time!

Best haircut in town! Extremely good at listening to what you want and executing. Great with woman’s hair as well!

I have been seeing Roman for about 3 years across 2 different locations. I have never had a better hair dresser. He has done extensions, color, keratin and cuts on my long straight blonde hair. Roman is the best hair dresser that I have ever had for these reasons:
1. He is meticulous and very patient. He goes by the same lines when doing color and so after 3 years my highlights and color look extremely natural.
2. He makes good recommendations and he always seems to be right about what will look the very best for me. I think being a guy helps in this department. He also knows my personality and how willing I am try try new things. He is not too risk adverse but enough to go the extra mile and talk through important decisions.
3. He goes above and beyond. When we were doing my extensions he met me at a restaurant on his own time to match the extension to my hair. The color was not perfect and he then drove all the way to Downtown San Diego to get the right extensions. He tried to keep the whole project cost effective too with careful consideration for how much hair to purchase. My picture is #27 of 30
4. He is flexible. He knows that I do not want to come into a busy salon during the normal hours day time hours and he sees me at night and weekends to accommodate me.
And the most important…
5. He is a good person. I consider him a friend. He cares. We even started taking salsa lessons together at one point. I would have coffee or spend time with him outside of the salon because I like the person that he is. He is honest and I trust him more then I can even say.

Best color, cut, highlights ever! Roman even came in on a Sunday to accommodate my schedule! He does wonders with my thinning hair! In addition, he is a really nice person. I wholeheartedly recommend Roman.

The best hairdresser in San Diego. It took me 7 years to find him. I followed him from another Salon. He is super professional and knows what he’s doing. He was able to fix a horrible haircut I got. Great sense of humor and always fun to get a haircut with him. Highly recommended!
