went to capt smiths seafood and got a carry out cod basket, rockfish basket, and a dozen of steamed crabs. was very happy with everything, the baskets where cooked perfect and the crabs where good. the crabs where not Maryland crab and that guy that waited on be let me know that they where no from MD but they where still good. I would recommend this place any time you want good seafood and I must say the prices are pretty good

I ordered the codfish basket and it was disgusting. I ate about 3 bites and threw it in the trash. I think the fish was very old. Even the tater tots tasted weird. I will definitely not return

This review is specifically for their TAKE-​OUT food… Stopped in today and got three baskets (one cod, one flounder, and one clam strip). The clam strips were actually very good– plump and good sized, not dried out, etc. BUT, the fried fish was very greasy and the cod specifically had a very strong fish taste/​odor and a rubbery texture… not what I’ve come to expect for cod. The crinkle cut fries were not crisp and they did not appear to have salted them.
I have bought fresh/​frozen seafood there many times and have been pleased but I do not recommend their take-​out food.

Great service. Great crabs. Every time. There’s other places closer to me but I only go to Captains Smiths now because their consistency in quality is unparalleled.
