We ate here a year ago and all 4 of us enjoyed our meals. The service was slow, but the staff was very nice n sincere. I had the seafood pot pie n it was excellent. Which is why I wanted to come back. Even though I read the reviews recently on the place I still wanted the seafood pot pie. So we went the other night. Not sure why the horrible reviews. Out of the four of us. 3 of us loved our dinners. The service wasn’t as bad as last time. Again the staff was very nice. I got the pot pie again n they made it different. Liked it better last year was the pie crust top, but it was still good.

Happened by chance. Our choice for the evening had a wait of an hour and a half. When we walked into sandi pointe we where pleasantly surprised. The staff including the owner was friendly and inviting. Everything from the wine to the food was excellent. Had a chance to talk with the owner. Very friendly. Did I mention there was live entertainment? The music created a cozy atmosphere. We will come back.

We came here because other restaurants in Somers Pt had extremely long waits, even though we had read the bad reviews and were somewhat dubious. My conclusion based on our overall fairly decent experience is that your mileage may vary(YMMV) greatly depending on your server. Mistakes were corrected but I can absolutely see why people here complained about the service. We ordered draft beers first(they have a decent selection, although not the 20 craft beers the sign says outside, more like 9 on tap with the rest being bottles). I got what I wanted, but my boyfriend got an entirely different beer than he asked(he ordered a brown ale and got a shandy instead, big difference). The older bartender who poured them ignored us when we tried to get his attention, even though the bar wasn’t any near crowded. The younger bartender was nicer and corrected the problem by pouring us the correct beer(and only charged for one). We ordered food, reasonably priced and all fine on my end(house burger), but instead of coleslaw and pickles(what it said on the menu and not any kind of special request on our end), he got potato salad and no pickles with his barbecue sandwich. Also corrected by the younger bartender. So, I would still come here and in future would like to give a 4 star review but I do feel like management needs to make sure the kitchen follows what is written on the menu and the bartenders should pay attention to what taps they are pulling, to prevent waste and irritation of customers. It was not a particularly busy night, so I don’t know why so many ordering mistakes were made. The food was tasty, and reasonably priced but based on their service I would be somewhat wary of ordering fancier food items.

My friends and I ended up walking out shortly after we were sat. We were looked up and down by an older lady, very judging. She then whispers to the hostess to seat us in the bar. After going a bit w no one stopping by, we asked the lady if we could order drinks. She hesitantly say ok. As we start to order, she SHUSHES him! Then walks off and does weird hand signals to the hostesses, like she’s calling plays at a baseball game. She comes back, takes our drink order, but we decided to leave anyhow… Super weird experience, and it didn’t seem to be getting better.

I have been regularly dragged to this awful restaurant for years by my mother(who I suspect has been losing her sense of taste). The«restaurant» somehow survives by serving bland or downright terrible food to the local octogenarian population. I can only assume the décor speaks to their childhood because the prices aren’t remotely reasonable for the slop they serve. Each visit brings me closer and closer to offing myself before walking in the door. The last time I seriously considered abandoning my mother and going to the WaWa down the street, it was hoagiefest at least, so I was at least guaranteed an edible meal. I chose to preserve my relationship with the woman who raised me and afterward asked myself«I paid for the insurance on my rental car, would they charge me if I plowed through the dining room?» We had mussels in red sauce for an appetizer which was… fine, they didn’t seem fresh but at least I’m still alive to tell this story so they probably weren’t rotten. We also had ribs which were slathered in an insanely sweet sauce which I can only assume was to cover up the terrible quality of the meat. My entrée was«lemon chicken» because seriously, who can screw up chicken piccata? Sandi Pointe can, I swear the chicken was fried, the pasta was flavorless AND overdone, the sauce was flavorless and they somehow managed to dig up capers that were completely devoid of any kind of flavor or structure, I assume they purchased them at the estate sale of a regular customer. Don’t go, don’t even look at the building as you drive by, don’t even drive past if you can help it because the elderly patrons may cause you to die a fiery death. #neveragain #areyousurethisisfood #barf

We had to wait 20 minutes after getting here with a frantic manager asking us if we could wait because they were short alot of waitresses/waiters; however, our waitress told us only one waitress did not come in for work. Took another 20 minutes for our drinks to get to us. Half our salads arrived 10 minutes earlier than the others. So furious at this restaurants service that I’m writing this review an hour into our arrival without our main entrees having arrived yet. Never again. The food is very good but today the service wasn’t.

I hate to use rude words to describe a meal but that was garbage. The quality of the seafood was way less then what you would get a the local grocery store. As other have posted the lobster tails we unusable. Nothing tasted fresh at all. The waitstaff was buried because they were way short handed and the kitchen staff must have been because the time between our first meal being served and the last was 45 min. Most of our food went back and the waitstaff was getting zero help from the manager. He came over long after we had been sending food back. For 42 dollar surf and turf it was not good. Scallops were tiny and didn’t taste right, muscles smelled funny and clams were tiny little versions of streamers. Just skip the place.

To sum it up: this is the worst experience my family has ever had at a restaurant. My family and I were laughing hysterically at the series of bad events that took place, we felt like we were in a national lampoons movie. The parking lot was empty which was the first bad clue, should have turned around then. We sat around the bar and it was dead. We were informed they sent home the waitstaff because the restaurant was empty all day. Like us, many came in to eat when there was a rain storm and power outage. It was a clusterfuck. My sons chicken tenders were completely raw inside, completely. Sent them back and they were redelivered burned to a crisp. Next, they made him a replacement grill cheese sandwich, it arrived on marble rye bread, which most kids don’t eat, including mine. I ordered the salmon, which came highly recommended. Yes, it too was raw in the center. My father commented his burger tasted like meatloaf, he asked for sweet potato fries and was given chips. Positives: tuna appetizer wasn’t bad. Our server, who I believe is actually the bartender and filed in as a server, was a sweetheart. However, the food and the service were a hot mess. I don’t recommend.

Great happy hour specials. Portobello stuffed with crab was awesome. Good large bar area. Blackened mahi want the best but good for the price. A bit salty than I would like. Plenty of draft choices and variety of wines. Awesome house made chips and dip, which tastes like a mildly spicy dill jalapeño dip.

Usually sit at the bar and always have a great experience. Bartenders and servers are always very helpful. Blackbean soup and sliders are a must have. Also when there is live music it’s actually a complement to the bar rather than just taking over your conversation.

Had been here once before and wasn’t impressed with the food, menu or the service. Last night my husband and I attended a private dinner party here. A large group goes out once a month for dinner. Last night we may have had ninety people. We plan the event. We select the menu, we hire the band etc. Last nights band was great people danced all night! The food was horrible! The entrees were barely warm when they arrived at the table. Several of us returned them but the replacements were no hotter. The dessert was unrecognizable! Our group dines at eight other restaurants in the area all who have experience serving a hot meal to a group. Very disappointed!

Was there for the first time yesterday. We went for a very early dinner so the dinning room was pretty empty. I thought the menu was very different with some excellent meals to choose from. I like the old world feel of the dinning room very much. Our waitress was excellent and even gave us a tour of the entire place when we were done with dinner. The food was pretty good not excellent but pretty good. The service was good and the prices were fair. The bar area was quite busy. I would give this place another try for sure.

This was our 2nd visit to Sandi Pointe. The service was very good. Nice wine and beer selection. I had the Cuban black bean soup to start and it was excellent! For my entrée i had the crab cakes. A little too much filler but very tasty. Came with a tasty remoulade sauce, nicely done roasted potatoes, and some very overcooked string beans. My husband had the crab and lobster pasta Alfredo which had loads of nice lobster claw meat. He really liked it. There was live music in the bar area on Sat night that was loud and made us nit want to sit in there to eat, but was very enjoyable to listen to in the dining room. Overall not a place I’d go out of my way to visit again, but a very acceptable choice when you’re in Ocean City.

My wife and I had never been here and thought we’d try a new place.(We’ve been to Gregory’s next door and it was terrific.) First the dinning room was empty, BAD sign. Menu was extremely boring, classic 70’s. Our server was absolutely terrible yet she was training a new server, kinda funny! Food took forever to come out, even their choice of tableware was laughable, the 6 clams were in some giant pedestal that the owners apparently thought looked good, so they bought 2 dozen. They stand about a foot high and are so out of place they were funny looking, but not funny ha ha. Salads were warm wilted spring mix with some gloppy dressing they proudly announced was home-made. I’d keep that quiet. Bread was thawed and reheated junk from their food supplier, or maybe SAM’S?(there’s much better stuff from SYSCO or USFOOD). We both ordered their Crab Casserole,(their take on Imperial) was this tiny little boat of salt, wait, I did find some crab in there somewhere. Had them take it back and we settled for 2 small apps and got out as quickly as possible. This is a good example of why Jersey restaurants, especially Shore restaurants have such a bad reputation. It’s a reputation they earn. This place is a joke, FOH, BOH, and ownership.

We came in with a group and of the ten people — only one had a good meal. The rest of the table got nothing good. The worst was my wife who ordered a side of mac&cheese and I didn’t think it was possible but it had to be worst I ever had. Not coming back — I will say that the only positive was our server — she worked hard to give us all we needed — hate it for her.

This is the place that made me join Unilocal.I’ve read for years and never reviewed, but after my last experience I felt compelled to join and share. Let me start by saying my wife and I were staying in Ocean City with our one year old son. Knowing that OC doesn’t have many great restaurants we decided to venture out to somers point for our dinner. My plan was to swing by the crab trap and if that was too busy we would go to the anchorage. It was a Monday evening in July. I still expected the places to be crowded, but both places had an hour+ wait. Not an ideal situation when dealing with an infant needing to eat. We decided to head back to OC and grab something local or on the boardwalk. As we were driving back we came across this place. We decided to give it a try since all three of us were clearly hungry. I park the car and see a bunch of other people entering Gregory’s which is an establishment right next door, but that looked like more of a bar and probably not ideal for a family. We walk into Sandi’s and there is no wait, tons of available tables. That right there should have been, and was, our first sign that this was not going to be a good experience. When the surrounding area establishments all have crowds of people with hour wait times and your restaurant is more than half empty, you’re doing something wrong. We arrived around 7:00. They had a dusk menu that ran until 6:30. My wife was interested in something off of that list, but was told she couldn’t get it. Ok. Understandable. Rules are rules. I asked to see a beer list because I read about a nice craft beer selection. Our waitress began to rattle off a bunch of craft breweries without telling me if they were IPAs, stouts, etc. How do you have a craft beer selection and not have a list for your patrons to see? I settled on an IPA which I enjoyed and my wife quickly put in an order for my son to get his meal out as quickly as possible, chicken fingers and fries. She comes back with our drinks and we are now ready to order. My wife ordered the filet mignon and I ordered something called beach blanket bingo. It consisted of shrimp, scallops, crab cake, and flounder. Her meal came with a salad and I opted for the she crab soup. Our bread came out rather quickly and was fine. We waited about 15 minutes or so and her salad and my soup was brought out. Our waitress puts our food on the table, while chewing something in her mouth, and says the rest of our food will be out shortly. We both looked at each other and my wife asked if she was just chewing on something. It was clear she was eating something. As for the soup and salad… nothing special here. My soup’s creamy broth was tasty, but the rest of the ingredients were meh. Shortly after, my son got his chicken finger meal. As my wife was breaking it up she asked if I thought it was cooked all the way through. I tried it and told her it was cooked, but the texture /consistency was weird. Then… we waited, and waited, and waited some more. We had plenty of time to feed my son. He ate and was finished. Twenty minutes went by and a man came over and asked us how everything was. I can only assume he was a manager. He told us the steak is cooking and will be out shortly. Ten more minutes go by and our waitress comes over and tells us she’s going back to check on our order. 15 more minutes and by now my son is starting to lose it. He’s been done eating for half an hour and there’s only so much we can do to contain him. I see manager man talking to another table when I decide to get up and wait for him to walk by. My intention was to pay for the two beers and my kid’s chicken fingers and get out of there. We were going on one hour since we placed our order, 30 minutes since he stopped by and told us the steak was«cooking.» As I’m standing there waiting, our waitress finally exits the kitchen with our food. The minute she puts it down I ask for to-go boxes and our check. My meal looked laughable. Two shrimp, two scallops(one small and one large), some flounder, and a crab cake the size of an Altoids container that they 100% did not make on their own for $ 27. My wife’s steak, which was supposed to be medium, was well done with bark around some parts of the outside. I love bark on meat, but not on a filet that should have been cooked medium. When the waitress returned with our to-go boxes I explained to her that waiting over an hour for our food was ridiculous. The room was not even full. A good server would have apologized and understood our frustration, but the first words out of her mouth were«it’s not my fault. The kitchen was slammed.» We packed our to-go boxes, our one year old, and got out of there as quickly as possible. We returned to our hotel room to finish dinner. It was average at best. I hope they took our picture on our way out, because they will never see us again. I would be shocked if this place is still in business the next time I return to the area. It was that bad!

The ambiance was good & the servers were friendly, & they had a great craft beer selection. Unfortunately, the food was illprepaired. My daughter had the crab legs & they were so overlooked that the meat was macerated in the shells. I had the seafood stew, consisting of lobster, shrimp, mussels, & veggies in some type of broth. Everything except the veggies were over cooked. The shrimp & lobster were like chewing on rubber balls. The mussels were gritty & half of them didn’t open. The broth was flavorless. All in all the food was way too overpriced for the quality we received. Very dissapointing.

Food was absolutely fantastic. Would have been five stars but our servers for some reason changed after we were given our menus, and the first server forgot to let us know that the listed dinner specials were unavailable. So, we all had to rethink our choices. Also there was a mix up in the kitchen with the orders which meant that one of us didn’t eat until everyone else was nearly finished their meal. However, our server Jamie was really incredible. She single handedly saved the night from being a lousy experience. She was personable, funny, knowledgeable and attentive. She apologized for the various confusions, and really worked to make it a great meal. The soups, Beach Blanket Bingo, and Jerk Chicken were all truly superb. Definitely worth a try!
