Awesome place to go for a quick bite — food is not low in calories by any means but man, it is worth it! My daughter and I shared Philly cheesesteak fries(which were amazing) and my grilled Cuban, on point. Molly had the crab melt and it was gone very quickly. We will def be back :)

It doesn’t look like much from the outside but so glad we gave it a try! The waitress was very polite and attentive. We ordered their Famous Cream of Crab soup and could not believe the amount of large chunks of crab it had in it. We also got a side of regular fries and sweet potato fries. My husband, who doesn’t even usually like sweet potato fries couldn’t stop eating them because they were so good. I had the Crab Melt, which was great and was on Texas toast, which gave it that little extra something. Not too greasy, cooked just right. My husband got the Angry Crab Quesadilla and really liked it. My dad got the Pork Belly Reuben and also said it was good. Really glad we stopped in because the food was delicious! We will definitely be back!

As I was looking back on my reviews, I was really surprised that this was my first review for The Grilled Cheese and Crab Cake Company. We first discovered this small restaurant two years ago when my family moved into our Ocean City shore house. The food was amazing and affordable. Whenever any of my out of town family or friends asked where they should eat, I suggested here because of how great the food was for the price. My daughter and I decided to order take-out last Saturday night and knew driving off the island and sitting in Saturday evening Somers Point traffic would be worth it. We ordered the angry crab melt, a bowl of crab soup, and a order of kid’s grilled cheese. At 7:30pm the wait was going to be about an hour. Okay, no problem. When we got there an hour later we had to wait another 10 minutes because they were making a new batch of soup. Awesome, it’s going to be fresh! The bill was $ 24 dollars! A sandwich, soup, and kid’s grilled cheese. I was starving and at the time did not even care because I just wanted to get home at that point to eat my food hoping it wasn’t cold. The soup was VERY thick. Almost like a dip. I actually think it was thicker than most dips that I make for parties. The portion was also very small for $ 7.50. The angry crab melt($ 11.50) was amazing, as usual. Very spicy, but I knew this going into it so I always take off a few jalapenos. The biggest disappointment came from my daughter’s kids meal which was two slices of plain white bread with a slice or two of cheese, grilled until melted. No drink. No side of fries or applesauce. Her meal was $ 4.50. I definitely think the one«$» for Unilocal is very misleading, especially for folks who have never eaten here. When I found out it was going to be featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives on the Food Network, I was super excited and made sure to tune-in. I know they’ve probably been quite busy and popular since the show aired, but their menu item prices are way overpriced. If and when I return to The Grilled Cheese and Crab Cake Company, I’m probably going to skip the soup and kid’s meal and maybe just order the angry crab melt. It’s filling and delicious and I’ll probably save some money by just making my daughter grilled cheese at home for 25 cents.

The first time the boyfriend and I were here, we liked it so much we had to come back when we were in the area. If you read my first review, I mentioned that I really liked the fried pickles and that it did not leak oil. Well … this time it did! I wasted so many napkins trying to soak the oil out. My grilled cheese was almost the same as the first one: pepper jack cheese, jalapeño, BBQ tender, mac and cheese, onion rings, sauteed onions but no runny fried egg this time. I don’t think it was because the egg was missing but the time the sandwich was just not that great. I didn’t taste any sauteed onions or bbq sauce. The sandwich was also very oily this time around. I did forget to try the crab balls though because I was excited for the fried pickles. If this was my first time here, I don’t think I would be coming back but because I know the potential of this place, I might come back.
