Holiday Inn Express Somerset

Pros: This is the 2^nd time we have stayed at this property. It’s very nice, clean, modern, and convenient. The staff is great, too! The beds are comfortable. The pool is an average size and well maintained. Breakfast is your standard Holiday Inn Express continental breakfast… Warm foods, cold foods, and beverages. We will be back!
Cons: The parking lot is fairly small and people seem to be making their own spots. This time there is no parking available even at the adjacent hotel.

Clean, large room. And Dylan at the front desk gets 5 stars for excellent customer service!

Clean — the room and bathroom is nice — the main floor area as well. The beds are comfortable for my family and me. Friendly staff at front desk and breakfast area. Good continental breakfast with eggs, pancakes, biscuits in addition to cereals and oatmeal. I will return for sure as we come every July.

Spent the night here for the second time this year. I know there are a ton of options when you are getting off the turnpike in somerset but I definitely recommend this. The hotel has always been spotless and while it isn’t overly spacious it is comfortable and has a fridge and microwave, which is a definite perk.
The complimentary breakfast is also one of the better ones I’ve had in hotels before. They have biscuits, sausage, gravy, eggs, pancakes, cereal options, juice options, oatmeal options and an assortment of breakfast pastries.
The staff is very friendly and if you are part of the IHG rewards club (which I am and definitely recommend) you can request a later check out if you enjoy sleeping in like I do. We didn’t check out until 1 and the check out is a breeze also. They slide a paper under your door in the morning and that’s your copy of the receipt and you’re good to go when you return your room key. You have to love when stuff is made simple!
When getting off the turnpike in somerset, this would definitely be my recommendation on the hotel to chose!

There are tons of hotel/​motel options when getting off the turnpike in Somerset. Although this might not be the cheapest option, I highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express.
Friendly service, clean room, clean bathroom, comfy and clean bed, awesome free hot breakfast in the morning. What more could you want from a hotel?!
Our room wasn’t large, but the two full size beds were perfect for 4 people. We never felt cramped. Our room had a fridge and a microwave which was awesome .
The breakfast was great– tons of options. I had some bites of a cinnamon roll, a pancake, a banana, a small chobani blueberry yogurt and some Special K cereal. Yum!
We also asked for a 1pm checkout rather than 11am and the staff told us it wasn’t a problem.

COULD NOT RECOMMEND MORE. The desk staff, especially Jess, were fantastic during our stay (7÷28÷13). The rooms were very clean and spacious, and noise wasn’t too much of an issue for us. The location was great – right off of I-​76 and just 2 minutes via car from downtown.
If you are looking to kill time/​eat well in the area, check out the putt-​putt golf and JB’s Roadhouse just 1.5 miles away.

The room was pretty good. Nothing too special but I wasn’t sure what to expect from a Holiday Inn «Express». The room was pretty small and had just the very basic of amenities. Small coffee maker in the room, Standard toiletries in the bathroom, and a mini fridge in the room. They also had free WIFI. The thing I liked was that there was a card saying if you forgot your toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, feminine products, or razor then the front desk would have one for you. The room décor was very simple but really, does room décor every matter that much??? The bed was nice and firm and they also give you the option of Firm and Soft pillows. They had a nice pool but I didn’t have the time to really use it The staff was very friendly and even called us about an hour after we got in the room just to make sure everything was good. They had a breakfast but it was lackluster. Lots of bagels and muffins and the hot items were very greasy and had no flavor. The biggest complaint that I have is the walls are paper thin. Our room was right next to a very large family with a small child and a baby. We could hear pretty much everything that went on in there. Not the best hotel for peace and relaxation but great for passing through. Its made for business people and not really for vacation people. I wouldnt like to stay here for more than a night or two. The area is pretty lame. There are a few food places but nothing else. The biggest draw for the area is the Flight 93 memorial.
