This restaurant was a great experience for my kids. It is a café style casual place with good service. My son enjoyed the naan wrap and baklava. The chicken was very juicy with flavorful rice. I liked the healthy and tasty options like couscous, quinoa, brown rice, tofu, sprouts etc. Will surely come back with friends!

Delicious food and great service! I was in the mood for something healthy but not the typical salad. Upon entering we immediately felt welcomed. The staff were enthusiastic in their explanation of all the options and they showed genuine excitement for us to try their food. Everything we ate was flavorful and the ingredients were fresh. The atmosphere was casual. I also love that they are environment conscious. The containers used are biodegradable. Definitely will return!

The food was great and very healthy. So if its comfort food you seek this is not the place. Giving it five stars is tough because I don’t see this a five star place — food, décor, and service. The owner was very welcoming and checked to see if I enjoyed the food. I will def come back for more from Masala-bay.

Wow. Fresh food and great flavors. This is an indian/Mediterranean fusion casual-fast dining spot set up like chipotle. It’s a dollar or two more expensive but I’m willing to pay it for the freshness/quality of the product. I chose the quinoa for my grain and moroccan tofu for my protein(i am NOT a vegetarian). The tofu comes with sweet potato and squash so it’s hearty and fills you up. The tofu is firm and doesn’t fall apart, so added points there. I also tried the coconut chutney and it was very good and fresh(I’m south Indian so i know my coconut chutney). The regular hummus(not the spicy version) was crack. You can taste the freshness immediately and awesome flavors. Anita the Owner/chef came out to meet me at my table to explain how she prepares it(I had never met her before and have no connection to her, I’m from out of state visiting friends). Overall great food. The place has a bakery feel, which is appropriate since they cook food fresh daily. I will be back here for sure. 5 stars.

Loved how the Mediterranean and Indian flavors blend together. Awesome Indian spin on Chipotle Concept! You can tell the food is really fresh! A lot of options to choose from– many gluten free and veggie options too. The sauces and toppings are amazing. Loved their mango ginger sauce, and the hot Mediterranean sauce. Will definitely be going back to try others. Ambience is comfortable and service is pretty good.

Masala Bay has a delicious mix of Indian and Mediterranean! It’s order style is like Chipotle but the owner, Anita, doesn’t rush you and guides you through the process! It’s a smaller restaurant space but very clean and the spice decorations are pleasant to look at! I had the sun in my eyes but Anita was courteous and dropped the blinds down for me. The service is enough for me to come back again, but everyone has to come for the food! I had a bowl with«grains and protein». Basmati rice & grilled chicken with unlimited toppings and an array of spreads! I was completely satisfied with my bowl and side of fresh garlic naaan! This place definitely makes an awesome naan My boyfriend enjoyed his bowl of quinoa and grilled chicken, with spicy sauce. He’s very big into spicy foods and usually anticipates«hot» labeled food as «mild» but this place means it when they say«hot»! It did not disappoint! I would recommend this place and I am definitely coming back again. Thanks!

There is nothing like this place. Take the build your order process from a place like Chipotle and serve an Indian Mediterranean fusion and and you get Masala Bay. The ingredients are so fresh you’ll notice it right away. The place is real clean. A nice simple layout and good seating space. Its right on the corner of the property so it has a lot of Windows and great lighting. Service was quick, informative, and took the pressure off of ordering. We met the Owner Anita and she’s so nice! When looking at the menu you may feel little overwhelmed at the options since this place is totally different, but it’s simple — pick what you want in your bowl, greens, grains, or protein then too it off with an eclectic assortment of toppings. My favorite was the extra spicy hummus — finally a place meeting my spice standard and actually meaning it when they say Extra spicy. I got a bowl with quinoa and Chicken tikka topped with the spicy hummus, cabbage, tomato parsley cucumber mix, the extra spicy hummus, mango chutney, and a side of cucumber sauce. It was so fresh and the fusion of Indian and Mediterranean really stands out. Also got the dark chocolate topped with fruits and coconut. It was extra soft and rich and the died fruit was a really nice touch. All in all — this place left a real impression. And we will be back

Small place that is slightly hard to find in a strip mall. From the outside it doesn’t look like much and neither does the inside unfortunately. The servers are a couple with a little kid and he hangs out as they are working. Nice little family deal going on which is nice to see. After I ordered a garlic naan roll, it took over 5 minutes for the naan to come out and I couldn’t see how the progress was going because they made it in the back. After the naan came I ordered all the toppings and it was a decent experience. I also got a thing of falafels on the side. The roll was very good and the husband gave good advice as to what to get on it. However, the falafels were overcook and the crunchy outside was way too overpowering. The roll had a great balance of flavors and I was very satisfied. There was also no music or ambiance. All I could hear was the kid playing phone games. I would also suggest moving an oven outside so I can see the cooking going on.

Steped in first time today the place is filled with Jars full of Indian Spices & Herbs. The contemporary indian cuisine, prepared fresh onsite everyday from scratch, elegantly presented on the Menu Board where you have a choice from greens & grains base with a choice of Proteins(Falafel, Vegetable, Tofu & Chicken) & sides of Indian/Mediterranean Fusion Delicacies to choose from. Even Deserts too are Indian/Mediterranean taste. Chicken Roll is good preparation & taste, try Samosa Roll it’s great tasting.

Best naan bread of my life. It was crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. Loved the concept of the place. If you’re a vegetarian and are looking for an inexpensive, healthy, meal, this is your place. I’m a pretty serious carnivore, so I would have liked to see meats other than chicken. Some lamb or goat would have been great.

Such a wonderful dining experience! There’s limited seating because the space is a bit narrow, but they manage to make the interior look very open and clean with limited décor. When Manny and I walked in, we were overwhelmed by the huge chalkboard menu loaded with options for greens, grains, proteins, spreads, toppings, and dressings. But Anita(the owner) was very helpful and took her time explaining what everything was to us. It took me forever to decide on what to get and I was constantly asking for recommendations, but the lady making my bowl behind the counter was extremely friendly and patient. In the end, I would up getting: — Greens: Spinach — Grains: Quinoa/Sweet Potato/Jalapeño — Protein: Falafel with Fresh Herbs — Spreads: Hummus and Harrisa Hummus — Toppings: Sprout Salad and Tomato/Cucumber/Parsley — Dressing: Mango Mint Ginger Sauce — Garlic Naan on the side! The combination of flavors was unbelievable! Everything tasted so yummy together. The garlic naan was the best I’ve had(fresh and made to order) and the mango mint ginger sauce had a sweet tangy taste that I really enjoyed. Anita even walked up to our table and asked us how our bowls were. She was so pleasant and warm! I’m so glad this place is less than 10 minutes away from my job. I look forward to coming back and trying everything else. Thanks for not leading me wrong, Unilocalers :)

Lying in a shopping plaza adjacent to Planet Fitness, sits a whole new planet: Masala Bay. This Eastern fusion is appropriately housed on Easton avenue and finds a way to unite culinary treats of South Asia with those of the Middle East. Similar to the style of Chipotle, a consumer approaches the counter and begins selecting items to be placed in a bowl. You’ll pick a green(spinach, lettuce, etc), a grain(cous-cous, basmati or white rice), a lentil(chickpeas, Moroccan spice, falafel, or grilled chicken tikka), and sauce(traditional hummus, hasra hummus, Mid-East hot sauce, coconut and mango chutneys). The bowl was not only culturally savvy but also savory… Wish I had left some room for the baklava and other pastries which looked amazing. I look forward to coming back some time and trying those out. The owner came out and spoke to us — extremely warm, welcoming lady. If you have any special preferences, definitely let them know as they’re an accommodating bunch.

Let me start be saying, I’ve been to this place many times & wow… what a place. This place is awesome. Amazing food, fresh, healthy but also very filling. Make no mistake, this is not your typical Indian restaurant with heavy curries and lunch buffets. Think of Chipotle style restaurant, but for Indian/Mediterranean food. The owner(Anita) and her husband are very nice and friendly. It has a very welcoming atmosphere. The food is always fresh. If you like spicy, the Harrisa chutney is a must try. They also have their own tandoor and make fresh made to order Naan bread and chicken. The Garlic-Chilli Naan is a must try. Update: Went back for some more deliciousness and found out, that the place is BYOB. Perfect. Will be bringing some wine next time for sure.

I made the mistake of walking into Masala Bay for lunch today. It was a mistake because I know I will be coming back here frequently. Very frequently. A few months after making the New Year’s Resolution to cook at home more. After just one meal, I am a huge fan of what this place has to offer. As you walk through the doors, you can immediately tell it’s a family-owned restaurant. The man(the owner, I think?) behind the counter was incredibly patient and kind as he led me through all of the choices they had. The choices can be a little overwhelming, especially because I’m not very familiar with Indian and Middle Eastern cuisine. However, he guided me through everything and explained what they were. He even allowed me to sample the dressings. I also got their baklava, which I’ve never had at all before but if this is what they taste like, I’m sold! Portion sizes are generous and the food was filling. I did not feel bloated after eating everything so if I ever want something«light», I will definitely be back. I encourage everyone to stop by and try the food. You WILL be blown away by the selections and the quality customer service. I want Masala Bay to stick around for many years to come so I know I will be giving them my business.
