Even Jeera Rice wasn’t good. What can possibly go wrong with Panneer Butter Masala in a Punjabi Restaurant?

This place is a Hidden Gem, located behind the«Jiffy Lubes» on Rte.27. Honestly I am surprised so little people have reviewed them, This is strictly a take out option unless you want to dine in they do have 2 – 3 tables, but you would rather take out. That being said I think they are ONEOFTHEBEST when it comes to punjabi food case in point«Baingan Bartha» you should crawl on you knees for atleast 1 mile to deserve eating it, mind blowingly awesome. The other things we had were Karahi Bhindi, Chicken Tandoori, Stuffed Chicken Tikka Patatha and Dal Tadka not one thing disappointed us or had any room for error or complaint EXCEPT for ONE and that’s a BIG one in my books if you are a punjabi and that is Tandoori Probably the only reason why I gave 4 starts off 5. Taste wise no complains BUT the doneness YES the chicken was not cooked all the way and that too me if a failure. I can understand they had like 5 catering orders and they were super busy, BUT for PUNJABIRASOI to not deliver on Tandoori is an outrage. But I assure you I’ll be back again and again and again

I have a pretty mixed review on this place. I have ordered delivery many times from this place however this time since I was going to be near there anyway I decided to do take out. I ordered the goat lunch box with the kadai goat, which also comes with rice, daal, a small dessert, naan, and a soda, and the Jatta di Thaali which came with daal, rice, naan, chicken Tandoori, kadai goat, raita, and a desert(said it was supposed to come with a salad too, but it was not there). The food overall was very good, the chicken for once was actually moist which in the past had been sometimes dry. I had noticed someone else complain about potion size and I have to agree when you get the goat it is mostly sauce very few pieces of meat. The raita to me was slightly spicy which I am not used to but was okay. Taste wise everything was rather good. When I went to get my food the woman asked if I had paid already and I replied with yes, she informed me that when you get the Thaali to go there is supposed to be an extra charge of a dollar because of all the extra containers they have to use, it is not on their site and or on Grub Hub about this anywhere. She did not charge me the fee«this time’, I have ordered there before and was never told this either. We are not talking they use even nice plastic containers that you can reuse here it is the styrofoam containers. I think it is a bit crazy to charge people for the containers in which they have to package things in as this should be factored into the price already. I mean the prices are not bad but you do not get much meat in any of the dishes so overall I do not think them using more packaging should be an issue to be charging people extra fees. Not only that but the place is more of a take out looking place not as much a sit down place where you can have a nice meal. I would have to compare it to like a «sultan wok» as far as the ambiance goes. Overall would I order from here again yes, but I might rethink ordering a thaali if they are going to charge me extra(which I have never heard of any other place doing). I order the family meals from sultan wok all the time where they actually use reusable containers and many at the and they do not charge me anything extra for the meal.

I ordered take out and when I arrived the cook hadn’t even received my order from the woman who took it. Apparently the phone number is her cell. She took my order while she was out and forgot to tell it to the chef. She was very nice though and gave me some free samosas. They were also willing to make me dishes that weren’t on the menu. And the food was tasty and reasonably priced. So I’ll be back. Something to note, the weekly specials are not up to date on their website, and there are like a dozen specials, so you might want to call and ask about them before you order take out.

Small tiny place, Big on taste! No Frills, Homemade fare. The best Punjabi fare in NJ. The Roti’s r freshly made, Kababs r tasty. Dal Makhni, Paneer Lazeez r yummy. The Thali’s are a must try for a quick meal. Try ordering only their Appetizers for a party, works out quite well.

One of the very few Dhaba style restaurants in the area. We are regulars to this place. The food here is fresh & well made. I highly recommend the Samosa Chaat & Aloo Tikki Chaat.

We were looking for some good«masala» tea and bumped into this place by accident. Dint go by the look of this place. It is closest to the Indian roadside«dhaaba» and the food is as good as the dhaaba’s too. The paneer paratha was perfect. My friend tries the hara bhara chicken kabab and it was delicious. Great place! Hope it is consistently good! Because that is the key!
