I’m actually going to review«gâté comme des filles» which is a lovely chocolate place located inside Aeronaut. When you first come in, the smell of real chocolate is just enchanting and overpowers you in such a lovely way. The chocolate brownies that were procured that night were outstanding and absolutely wonderful. The chef is also lovely, as I made an «unsavory» pun about butter. I got a pity laugh, so the value of this place priceless.

Boo. Inattentive bartender and rude when I asked to get served. Had high hopes, good luck guys.

Great local brew in a terrifically large, warehouse-like setting. You can play video games projected on a wall, or cornhole it up in the back room, where you’ll also find a tasty chocolate bar. Booze not your thing? Relax, they also brew(and package) their own coffee! Give it whirl!

I found a beer I liked! The hoppy belgian blonde and the saison were both pretty good. I’m glad they rotate beers. We also played games! They are behind the bar and they ask for your id to play. Service was good and it was PACKED for a sat. Nintendo in the back :)

An amazing brewery! Aeronaut is a little difficult to get to if you don’t have a car, since it’s not close to any of the subway lines. However, the trek out is worth it. They frequently have live music or other events like trivia night or board games night going on, and the crowd is overwhelmingly young and hip(most people looked like they were in their 20s and 30s). The ambiance is great — it looks like the space was converted from a warehouse, and as such it is a huge space with high ceilings that nonetheless gets packed on weekend nights(there was a line out the door to get in when we left at 10pm on a Friday). The beer itself is tasty and reasonably priced for craft beer. You can get a small glass(5 oz) for around $ 3 and a regular beer(11 oz) for $ 6 – 7. I tried the imperial IPA($ 7) and the«a session with Dr. Nandu», which is an American pale ale($ 6). In addition to the beer, they have board games in the back that you can«check out» if you give your ID as collateral. The brewery itself doesn’t sell food, but I believe you can bring in outside food.

Very DIY, huge industrial space, lots of ever-changing interesting beers on tap. Hipster-Nerd vibe. They do a ton of interesting weekday-evening events, trivia, meet-the-scientist, boardgames, 16th century plays… Cambridge stuff. Clearly a passion project, probably a decent place to bring a date. But only if she’s kinda coooool.

Aearonaut Brewing Company is hidden in a warehouse, that is tucked away in a corner. Its next to Brooklyn Boulders, perhaps you can go rock climbing before coming for a beer. Just don’t do it the other way round ie. drink beer then go rock climbing. This place is BYOF: Bring Your Own Food. They do not have a food menu, so feel free to bring some chips, snacks etc. The beers here come in 3 sizes, the smallest size is small, nd only costs $ 2 — $ 2.50. I would recommend doing a tasting flight for $ 10. They also had live music. I asked the bar tender to recommend me the least hoppy beer as a lot of the beers here seem to be hoppy. She recommended a light summer beer, which was good. There were about 6 types of beers on tap here. You can either sit at one of the large benches with a group of friends or simply sit at the bar. Its an extremely chill place. There were even several mothers with little babies there. We borrowed some of the games that they had. They had Risk, Uno, Jenga, Cards Against Humanity etc. You just have to give them your ID in order to borrow a game. They even have old school Nintendo! There is an eating area by the side, where you can only bring small sized beers to. There were some food stalls but they were all closed. I also saw a restaurant hidden at the back, near the bathrooms. Apparently its called Tasting Counter, you can buy tickets to a meal and its very good. There was also a lab at the back and an area where they grew fresh herbs! These herbs must be used at the Tasting Counter. Bring your big group of friends to Aeronaut Brewing Company, it will be fun!

Such a cool atmosphere, large space, board games, old game consoles, among other treasures. This is the ultimate Somerville beer joint that just happens to be situated next to a friggin’ rock climbing gym. I recommend maybe drinking afterwards, but that’s just me. They have a lot of hoppy beers, so if that’s more your thing, you have quite a selection. However, they do have a nice light beer usually on tap for those of us who are looking for something more bright and fresh. I haven’t attended any of their numerous events, but am sure to keep an eye out. I’ll be playing with an abacus in the corner with the other«kids» in the meantime.

One of my favorite brewery spots to bring a fun group. There are good beers, a pacman arcade game, Donkey Kong on the PlayStation and a variety of board games. One side of the brewery houses food which I haven’t had yet, but the beer selections were delicious.

9 employees! Me and my boyfriend walk in an hour and a half after opening of an event. Literally just us and the 9 employees. Not a word said to us for about ten minutes when finally a girl asks us if we want a beer. Duh! You are literally in a warehouse in the middle of nowhere. People don’t just show up and stand there. I know why I am here, do you? Bought glassware and beer and then they went right back to talking to eachother. They were more involved with conversations with eachother to even speak to us. We are Craft Beer Brew fans and while the location has serious potential and the decorations are cool; they are not friendly. In my experience the staff only greeted their peers or family. Not one spoke to us to find out how we heard of the place or of our interest in the craft. Oh well. Beer wasn’t «awesome«anyway.

Five star flight of beer. Great swag(got a new tee for 20% off, thanks Unilocal!!) and fantastic daytime atmosphere! I tried almost all of their hoppy beers and I was very impressed. I tried the Weisner, Hop Hop and Away, Orangutan Skies, Eye of Saurin and their Cask Black IPA. They were all delicious! Hop Hop and Away is a fantastic all-day session IPA. Very light in color(surprisingly straw colored) but tasted like the description — Full of beautiful fragrant hops. The Weisner was a lot higher octane, but a very well balanced strong hoppy Pale ale. The Orangutan Skies was my favorite– an American IPA, but so well balanced! Eye of Saurin was a hoppy Belgian strong that was beautifully colored and flavored, though I could definitely only have a pint of that before it would be «too much». Still: try it. Very very drinkable! Even the Black IPA was great and I had it on cask, which is not my preferred beer format(warm not very carbonated beer is not my preference!) Other major pluses include the free entertainment(Jenga and Super Mario Brothers) and communal tables invite friendly conversation. I will definitely be coming back next time I’m in Boston!

Aeronaut is my favorite bar in the area. Sometimes you want an escape from the typically generic Irish pub setting. If you want to try a bit of everything, get the taster flight($ 10). The menu may change from time to time, and at least the time I went, when I calculated everything, the discount was only $ 1. But it’s worth it if you want to try a bit of everything, and why go to a self-proclaimed brewery if you’re not gonna try a lot of different brews? I feel like the beers have been getting better since I’ve been coming here. I remember the first time I came last winter, the majority of their beers on tap were all dark, bitter, and a little flat(but still flavorful, and I happen to like dark, bitter beers). Now, there’s a good variety of different types of beers, and the recipes seem to be getting better. It’s always fun to see what new thing they have featured. I had a smoked butternut squash beer that was really interesting — almost like a peaty whisky in beer form. They generally have at least a couple options for IPAs, and at least one dark beer. I like adventurous beers, and Aeronaut is never boring. They also have a huge space, and frequently host events — musicians, community meetings, talks about bike riding around the neighborhood, etc. Check out their website if you want to catch some music or hear a talk. They seem to have a food area/kitchen in the back area near the restrooms but I’m not sure of their hours or what they serve — it smelled like slightly over-baked cookies last time I was there. They have board games! I had a blast playing Cards Against Humanity and getting tipsy.

This place is exactly what you’d imagine would look like if a bunch of MIT grads started a brewing company, which is awesome because it’s true. You’ve got old school video games to play, a huge space to drink, mingle, dance, explore, eat, etc. It’s a fun place for a group of friends or maybe a first Tinder/Bumble/OKCupid/Hinge/whatever-else-dating-website date place. Definitely a local hot spot because it’s kind of difficult to get there via the T, The brews are pretty good, but I suppose some Beercules connoisseur would say it’s «okay» or that«they expected better.» Pretty cool place, if you ask me! Great space to host an event too(I’m looking at you YEE!!!).

There is a man. Who spins records. By the bar. And not, like, Top 40 records. These are old-school records. True hits. It’s like someone raided my parents’ record collection and started spinnin’ hits. Did you know that Dionne Warwick sang«Always Something There to Remind Me» 20 years before Naked Eyes did? DOYOUEVENKNOWWHONAKEDEYESIS?! It’s stuff the generations before us listened to and loved, and it’s the stuff I get to discover and learn to love. They just don’t make ‘em like they used to. But that’s not what matters. This is a brewery. And this brewery has giant old-school Nintendo projected on the back wall. I have not seen anyone play Super Mario 2 in years and now I know why — that game in INSANE hard to beat. Nothing makes sense. I got a few chuckles watching people lose at Tetris, too. Those games require skill, bro. And the bartenders? So friendly. Quick on their feet. Fast with their hands. The perfect pour each time. Less head, more beer, just the way I like it. Well, at least when it comes to draft beer. It’s a hike from the T station but Boston is walkable and I really did not mind. It was a nice night. A nice night for a walk and some beers. The clientele is diverse. Athletes after a sports game, hipsters being all there and stuff, preps, nerds, sportos, all-inclusive, all fun. A win all around! Oh, and the beer. Get the Kristallweizen. It’s just so yum. Because this is a brewery, you know. Drink beer.

I first had them in the winter and thought… well, I won’t say that. Every time I’ve had them since then they have made significant improvements to the point where I really like them. I tried the Saison and Maibock and both were really good, perfect really, to me. I tried a few others and they were too hoppy for me, but, you know, hipsters… you can get samples of anything, or a small if you try the sample but still aren’t sure if you want a large, which is nice. Looks great inside. I love that you can see the brewery and it’s all right there. Love the board with the beers on it because it’s creative looking and the coasters that people have decorated are a nice touch too.

What a chill and fun brewery. Keeping it local and off the beaten path. Regular events and live music. Check their calendar of events for something you might enjoy. Beers rotate pretty regularly here and I can’t say I have a favorite yet. I plan to come back and fill up my growler and look forward to seeing their cans in local stores. Keep up the good work and see you soon.

Aeronaut is definitely has a hipster appeal. they are about to launch canned brew(Dr. nandu) in cans featuring locally sourced and unique, collectible artwork. Kind of great. I noticed a lot of people haven’t been impressed by Aeronaut’s beer. Yeah, I got that same sense when I first tried it out, but there were a couple that caught me by surprise. I think the brewery has since temporarily retired them. I can’t recall the name, but there was one that had a strong coriander taste, which wasn’t offputting at all. TASTE Recently, I tasted the Herman Hesseweisen and the Orangutan IPA. Despite not loving the Herman for its heavy banana flavor(I don’t love banana), I wasn’t completely unimpressed. The flavor profile was quite solid without any sort of fake add-in taste. Aeronaut saves this for spring/summer, but I could sip this on a cold winter day and dream about warm weather.

My, my how things have changed since my first review in November. The warehouse feeling has grown on me, and the addition of hanging planters and some more art was a nice touch. The staff, though there are many, are always friendly and let you sample beers if you can’t make up your mind. The beers have gotten LOADS better since they’ve opened and I’d wager to say that they will continue to improve as the brewers experiment and find their favorites. The IPAs and bitter beers are now abundant! They mostly always have an IPA on tap! Hooray! The Jackdaw is also very tasty for a session Porter. They also host cool events and have rotating food vendors right inside the door — usually it’s grilled cheese or paninis it seems. Yesterday, they had a man playing piano to weird spacey music. It was cool!

Came here right when they opened on a rainy Saturday. It only took about an hour for the place to totally fill up. Not sure if they always have both rooms open, as it looked like the room where the bathrooms is(with additional tables) is often used for private events, but after 2 hours, both rooms were packed! They had a corn hole set in the other room, which was lots of fun. There was also some construction going on there, so not sure exactly what that space is going to turn into … They have a bunch of board games like Taboo and Jenga on the inner table, which is fun! Come, drink, play and EAT! They make food at the front entrance which we didn’t partake in, but it smelled AMAZING! Really cool hang out spot, with good beer! I don’t live in Boston, but was a nice spot to drink, chat and chill at. Definitely would recommend to others and come back.

Passing time at Aeronaut is easy — I just wish it was for the beer! Don’t get me wrong, their brews are solid. Honest, straight-forward, non-offensive product that delivers exactly what it promises, thus garnering furled brows and the downturned mouth corners of a beer drinker that silently asserts, «I can quaff this. I most certainly can quaff this.» And everyone would nod. Aeronauts biggest draw is their brilliant use of space, and killer events they host. A bit creative, a bit geeky, a bit hipster, a lot Somerville — it’s a brewery that’s the truest beacon for its neighborhood. I love that about them. Chances are, if a friend hollas, «Hey Damien, do you want to go to Aeronaut for _____Fest?» My reply will be, «Let me ask my wife,» which is what any strong man would say, and pending her reluctant approval, I’ll grab my coat.
