I can’t say enough great things about Instructor Mark and the terrific program he’s developed here. He has created a culture of listening, respect, trying one’s best and staying positive that is really wonderful to see — and the kids really respond to this, while having a lot of fun, building skills and developing focus! Our bdaughter has been taking classes for two years now, with two of her best friends, and really loves it. I’ve been so impressed, not just by the skill level I’ve seen across all ages at their annual demonstration, but by the depth of understanding that Instructor Mark has of each child’s learning style, strengths and weaknesses, and individual psychology. The lessons he teaches — how to treat mistakes as part of the learning process and not just a source of frustration, and the importance of just trying your best — are ones that go far beyond just martial arts.

I’ve been studying Kung Fu here for 1.5 years, and it’s fantastic. The instructors are wonderful: knowledgeable, personable, and motivating. The people are great.
The culture of the school is not overly focused on rank, or experience. Because of this its great for beginners and people of all ages. Not intimidating at all.
But don’t take that to mean the instructors and students aren’t focused on learning the art of Kung Fu. The instructors and many students are talented martial artists
It’s a great workout, a great community, and a great art.

Awesome martial arts school. The instructors are great — and really know how to keep you motivated and engaged. Cost is very reasonable — especially for the amount of personalized attention you get, and you get a great workout. Good for people of all levels. Convenient location — right off the T. I remember when Kristin was at the school (you should come back), but I don’t think it’s a dugeons and dragons crowd; lots of folks from different backgrounds. Worth trying out.

They teach kung fu and tai chi which is a great way to get in shape while learning some cool skillz, and the instructors are a good mix of challenging and encouraging. Convenient location on Highland and the price is reasonable (I think it was about $ 80 a month but when you consider that some people pay that for a gym and at least here someone is teaching you things).
When I left it was becoming pretty popular and getting crowded. So why did I leave? The crowd seems to be kind of a dungeons and dragons (not my type) and after my one friend stopped going, I lost motivation. So if you’re easily lazy like me, you might be better off if you commit with a friend (or if you like dungeons and dragons).
