Ordered online through Grub Hub, and 2 phone calls and 2+ hours later the food arrived … cold. Both times on the phone they assured me the food had just left, even though they never asked my name or address. Never again.

I think I may have invented a new drink — spiked mango lassi! The recipe? Mango lassi + vodka. Kind of a crazy concept, but my waiter was nice enough to play along. Turns out it’s delicious! I urge you all to try it, if you’re feeling adventurous. My friend ordered the Shiva, one of their cocktails, and it was delightful. Refreshing with an oh-so-subtle peppering of cayenne. The mushroom samosas were my dream food. I LOVE mushrooms and these gave me several mouthfuls along with a crunchy, friend shell. Can’t ask for more than that! The paneer was okay, but very dry. I normally adore paneer, and have eaten a lot of great paneer dishes around Boston, so I was underwhelmed here. The chicken was okay — also on the dry side, but less offensive because it was white meat.

Not a fan of this place… I ordered the vegetarian meal for 2 through grub hub and they were 45 minutes late. The food was luke warm when it arrived and we didn’t receive any tea. Our entrees appeared to have the same sauce even though they should have been separate dishes and the dessert was very off putting. Needless to see, I won’t be ordering from here again.

average food, bad service. my friend and i were busy talking as they took away our leftovers, and nothing was brought back when half of everything was left! when i asked, he said he tossed it. when there’s food left on plates, you ask if they’d like to pack it up, not take it into trash without a word. how wasteful. and it was saltier than other indian i’ve had, so maybe he did me a favor!

Definitely recommend it as it is one of the better Indian restaurants in the Greater Boston area! We loved the food, décor, promptness of service. The complimentary samosa was freshly made and very tasty. We ordered jhinga(shrimp) puri as an appetizer which was excellent! The chicken soup that my 7-year old ordered was mild and really tasty. The taco item which is basically a freshly baked roti(bread) with stuffing inside was nicely done. We ordered Shanghai chicken and asked for it to be spicy and was indeed made as ordered and definitely very tasty. Overall the food was freshly prepared, not creamy(as found in many Indian restaurants) and very tasty. The inside area is quite spacious and tastefully decorated. The restroom is also spacious and well maintained. Keep it up Diva Bistro!

Delicious lunch buffet! They covered all the staple dishes and everything had great flavor. The naan was excellent as well! You can’t beat the lunch buffet price either: about $ 9/person. We will be back!

My boyfriend and I went to Diva on a busy Friday night and were seated immediately. From the moment we got there, everyone was friendly and accommodating. We came in with a Groupon,(which can sometimes grant you poor service at other locations), and they were happy to help us use it. We decided to go with one of the complete Diva dinners for 2 for a total of $ 52. With the Groupon, this was an insanely good deal! The samosas were out of this world, and the tandori meats were so tasty. Both of our entrees were so delicious, as were the desserts. The food ended up being enough for TWO dinners, so we took the other half home and ate it the next day. Even the naan kept well and was as delicious as it was the day before. Honestly, we were shocked by what a great deal we got and how delicious everything was. We saw a lot of negative reviews, and we just can’t understand them! This place was awesome. We cant wait to be regulars!

I like their food, but I’m done after tonight. I ordered delivery, and it is now over two hours later, and still no food. I called when the order was«only» half an hour late(so, 1.5 hours after ordering), and the woman on the phone was brash and told me my delivery would be here«in a few minutes.» That was 35 minutes ago. The restaurant is a five minute drive away in traffic. Worse, even if the food does arrive now, it will have been on the road long enough that the meat dishes will probably no longer be safe to eat. Update: The food finally arrived — two hours and twenty minutes after it was ordered. And the promise that it would only be a «few minutes» more? Yeah, that turned out to be 50 minutes. If you’re overwhelmed and can’t handle all of the orders you get, just call your customers and apologize — give us the option of either waiting or canceling our orders. Even worse, since I placed this order through Foodler, I spent over half an hour on hold to reach someone to sort this out. After 17 minutes on hold, the first person hung up on me after putting me on hold to call the restaurant. I then waited on hold for another 15 minutes to talk to another rep to cancel the order and get a refund. Meanwhile, I see that Foodler conveniently no longer has a review page on Unilocal

There are several Indian restaurants in Davis — in fact, two others within a block — and Diva definitely has the nicest décor. Unfortunately, that’s the only complement I have. The food is bland and the service likewise. And the price! There’s just no justification. In the mood for Indian? Do yourself a favor and pick one of the other options.

I visited this place for dinner wirh my friends. We were excited on seeing the appearance from outside. Only positive thing about this place. We asked waiter for a couple of minutes to decide what we want. So he decided to stay away for 10mins or so or until we called for him. We ordered biryani which was worth neither for the quantity nor the taste. It tasted okay. Next was bindi masala which had ladies finger that were old and can’t be chewed. The naan and roti were burnt with 60% of it having black burnt coating. I saved the worst for the end. To add to the icing, we gave a Groupon voucher to pay the bill so the waiter himself decided on how much we should tip him and charged us tip straightaway. Thus, making the purpose of coupon trivial. Will I ever think of going back to this place? I’m sorry, which restaurant was I talking about.

I went Diva Indian Bistro on a recent Saturday night at 9:45pm. The service was perfectly fine(in contrast to some of the other reviews here on this site, but then again given that there was basically no one else at the restaurant I think it was pretty hard for the waiters to ignore us. I ordered a chicken korma dish, mild spiciness. The cost was roughly $ 16, which seemed slightly higher than I thought it would be. I liked the chunkiness(I believe it’s cashews), the flavor-wise it was spicier than anticipated, and the spiciness seemed to overpower whatever seasoning they could have used. I wouldn’t mind trying out this place again, especially the buffet that’s under $ 10. The food here was overall okay, but I’ve had better Indian restaurant experiences in NYC but also there in Somerville at The Kebab Factory.

I’ve been To Diva a few times, and continue to be disappointed. Overall, the food and the service are sub-par. On my last visit, the Chicken Tikka Masala tasted like it was made with tomato soup and all of the naan was burnt. Their rice barely has a hint of saffron in it. The service here is lackluster and some of the servers are rude. The exception is the older gentleman who kept our water glasses full(we never had to flag him down).

We were around the neighborhood for Porch Fest yesterday and strolled in for a quick dinner before the movies. We tried the Shrimp Vindaloo and the Tandoori Salmon Tikka and both dishes were very enjoyable and I would highly recommend. Why the 2 stars then? Ugh, our server was just incredibly obnoxious and inappropriate. Upon checking in on my Unilocal app, the $ 15 for $ 20 offer popped up on my phone. Seeing the savings, I inquired with our server but he told us that the Unilocal vouchers take 24 hours after purchase to be able to use it. We knew that wasn’t the case and purchased it. The voucher was emailed to me right away with redemption instructions. However, when we tried to redeem it, our server told us that we could not use it unless the«redeem» button appeared on my phone«…or else we could just come back and use it over and over again». I’m sorry but accusing your customers that he wouldn’t be able to tell if we were using a purchased voucher over and over again is a big no no. After a good 15 minutes and requesting that we speak to a manager to honor the voucher, he finally credited our bill. At the end of the day, even though the food was good, I would much rather eat elsewhere. It wasn’t worth the headache and the bad taste in our mouth when we left the restaurant.

The service here is comically bad. The server was disinterested. He let plates pile up unaddressed. He had to be flagged down for water and brought the wrong type of Naan. It would’ve been more efficient if I would’ve been my own waiter. The food was below average for an indian place. The chicken tikka masala tasted like tomato soup. The selection was really limited and there was only room temperature kheer for dessert. I’d recommend heading to Punjabi grill a block over. The food is way better and the service is a bit better.

Decent Indian restaurant in Davis. Nothing crazy but a solid meal. We got here on a Thursday night around 9:30pm and the place was empty so we were able to snag a table for 7 people. Waitstaff was attentive and came over right away to give us water and take our drink orders. I order the Chicken Do Piaza and it was good. Big pieces of chicken with tomatoes, peppers, onions and spices. Never had this type of spice and it was tasty. I was with a few people that are vegan and they had many options for them to chose from. That is always a plus because it’s hard to accommodate multiple diets. Once the check came we asked to split on 6 different cards and they were again very accommodating which was nice. We were that super annoying table but we gave a good tip! I will definitely check it again soo!

Avoid if possible. Very mediocre food with even worse service. I ordered the Lamb Mushrooms curry, Vegetables Samosas, and Garlic Naan. The Vegetable Samosas came out first, and they were cold. As I bit further into them, I realized the core was still frozen. I sent them back, and after about ten minutes I received what were now warmer, but still very bland tasting Samosas. Then, I got my Garlic Naan. I received them at a very weird timing: after the Samosas, but way before my curry came(which, I was to learn, took so long because the waiter failed to even put my order in and screwed the tickets up). The Naan was burnt, thin, and tasteless. By the time the curry came, it was rock hard and cold. The curry was mediocre. It was pretty bland, and the meat was suspiciously hot(microwaved???). It did not taste like anything special at all. The rice was dry and clumped up in chunks, and was very unappetizing. The waiter failed to ask me how spicy I wanted the curry when I ordered. Besides my food taking very long, the waiter came to our table an extra three or four times with food we did not order, insisting that we had ordered it. They had obviously screwed up the tickets pretty badly. I was thoroughly disappointed. The food is also overpriced. Would recommend avoiding Diva’s if possible, and go for Masala in nearby Teele Square or The Kebab Factory near Harvard.

You didn’t shovel your sidewalk after the blizzard, which is dangerous and irresponsible. Everyone else in the square shoveled, except for you. This is not okay.

I have eaten here twice and the food was ok, but i just ordered goat curry and an appetizer combo from foodler and what they delivered literally wasnt edible. The goat meat was all fat. Like 100% fat. And the appetizer combo was just chunks of old, rock hard meat. No one likes old rock hard meat… Am i right! I complained and they didnt care or do anything to make it right. Ripoff.

If you can get a Groupon and explore the menu, this place can deliver. Some entrees have missed – but here are some good choices for dining in a group: vegetarian appetizer platter ~ 10 peshawary naan ~ 5 entrees: kerala fish curry(mild is plenty hot for me and includes rice); chicken tikka(comes with rice, yogurt, and extra dipping sauce) One thing: goat, mutton, and/or lamb smell permeates the restaurant – at least, to me, while waiting for a table. Think about what you wear – but if you can get over that, you’ll like this place.
