My friend and I ordered our first absinthe here! Since we clearly had no idea how to drink absinthe, the bartender graciously gave us a history lesson behind this mysterious liquor. According to him, French drinkers would pour themselves absinthe from an absinthe fountain, and drank it mixed with sugar water. Early absinthe contained a narcotic, which was later banned. Today, absinthe no longer contains the narcotic. It still made me feel a weird kind of tipsy, though. Don’t drink absinthe. It tastes like mouthwash that you have to swallow. Do go to this bar, though, because the bartenders are adorable.
