l first visited the Hodgkins Spa in 1937. Pretty old, right? The Hodgkins Grtammar school was across the street. I stopped there, before going in to school, to buy a comic book. We called it Pete’s Spa then. Because it was owned by a great guy named Peter Anastas. It quickly became a club house for our group of kids, with Pete’s blessing. It was the gathering place for us almost every day from Grammar school through High School and beyond. Those of us veterans of those days still remaining drop in there as often as we can. Great memories. The Hodgkins Spa is now almost a hundred years old! Glad that unlike the Hodgkins school, the spa is still with us.

Really damn convenient. They serve Richies Italian Ice. Grab one and then eat it in the park next door! Fair prices.

I’ll keep it short. I don’t normally like convenience stores at all.: 1) They get to know you very quickly and well. I feel like a regular. 2) Prices are great. 3) Selection is great. 4) It’s clean and inviting and not at all creepy, ever. Go here.

I love this place! The owner is AWESOME and knows all of his regular customers. When I am hungover, I only need to walk a block to get a box of mac and cheese and an arizona iced tea. They have all of the essentials: dog food, cake mix, condoms, lotto tickets, italian ice, choco tacos. yesssssss. I’m not sure where«Spa» is coming from though. it’s definitely a convenience store… unless I’m missing something.

This place rocks. They have come in handy so many times already and I’ve only lived off Holland St. for a month. Some random ass things that they carry: Poland Springs Raspberry-Lime sparkling water Chocolate Sprinkles Velveeta shells & cheese(come on, who doesn’t love a little mac and cheesey goodness??) They’re super close and not super expensive. 2 great things in my book. Weird factors: They sell Italian Ice… so sometimes you have to wait in line behind a pack of small children & their parents. They also sell lotto tickets, so there seem to be a handful of guys who hang around there all the time, just buying tickets and scratch cards.
