Nagelberg Henry P MD

I just returned home from taking my 97 year old Dad to Dr. Nagelberg and because as always it was such a pleasant experience I am writing my first review of ANYTHING. Dr. N has been treating my family for a number of years, Mom, Dad, my daughter and her husband and my husband and I. Being the age I am I have had two previous eye doctors that retired when my Mom and Dad recommended Dr. N. This guy is so pleasant and easy to talk to, he deserves to be commended for it.
Recently I had to go to him as I was having issues with floaters and flashes of light and the office staff always seems to be able to accommodate when you have a problem. He saw me and calmed me down and gave me a complete exam and recommended an equally pleasant retina specialist.
With so many folks complaining about being treated by medical office staff and doctors as merely numbers, this doctor is to be highly recommended for his courtesy and expertise in his field.

An excellent practice. I don’t see Doctor Nagelberg much anymore, save for the annual, since he referred me to a Lasic surgeon.
You may ask why I rate him 5 out of 5 stars.
Many years ago when I was still a fairly new patient of his, my parents were visiting for Thanksgiving. My father, in helping me the rake leaves, had some stem/​leaf/​/​twig whatever blow into his eye. Short story, it turned blood red. I called doctor Nagelberg’s office (closed for holiday, of course), got an answering service; they paged him. He called back, heard what happened, said, «meet me at the office in 40 minutes». He looked Dad’s eye over, and assessed it as not needing further (serious) attention. I apologized for him getting dragged in, and he said, «well, it’s an eye, you can’t ignore these things (something to that effect)».
Find me any other doctor who would take the time like that.
When I lived in Maryland, I wore contacts, and scratched my cornea (I learned). I called the doctor there, while they were open, and was told, «the doctor’s schedule is full — go to an emergency room». Which sent me back to that one and only doctor in that county.
Anyhow, in my book, a very justifiable five stars.
