Olde Magoun’s Saloon

Went there with friends tonight for dinner. The eerver was friendly and accommodating. I had the portobello melt with coleslaw. I honestly thought the sandwich was pretty dry, but I did enjoy the coleslaw a lot. They have an excellent beer selection as well :) I could have ordered the wrong entrée so I will definitely give them another try.

I love the beer selection here. Really willing to give tastes and recommendations. The food isn’t half bad, but definitely is hit or miss.

Wow! What a surprise this place was. Great food with a good selection of beers. Try the all-​dressed nachos– they’re amazing.

Wonderful beer selection, awesome food. You cannot go wrong here. A bunch of huge screens for the games. Usually can get any game you want.

Food is okay but overpriced. Beers are also on the pricey side. I have been a few times and service has always been meh but today our waiter was so terrible that the hostesses started pitching in to take care of us. If you are going to go to this place make it for brunch when they have unique coffee cocktails. Otherwise, this place is mediocre at best.

Great food and beer, but terrible service. Food is always great, but they almost always bring you the wrong thing. I’ve been here many times and the consistency of their bad service is crazy. One time it took them 45 minutes to bring me coffee, and we were one of two groups there, and the coffee was cold. Bottom line, chefs are great, management is awful.

To tell you the truth, I love their food. It is excellent. Youre pretty safe with whatever you order.
So with that said, I am writing this review because their organization skills are highly lacking. I called around 7:30 to order an order for take-​out. The person who answered simply said «no». No-​no explanation, no reasoning. She just said no. I had to ask her whether she was busy or simply didnt like my voice. She said she was too busy and I should call back in half an hour. Ok, I love their food so it was worth it for me.
I call back at 8:00. At 8:00, a gentleman answered the phone and thankfully he was more polite. However, he told me to call back in an hour.
See, this is what I don’t understand. As a manager of a business myself, I understand that it is a cardinal sin to shoo away customers. Every customer shoo’d away is a customer who will call another establishment and eat there. Its a customer who will warn his (or her) friends from going there. In the least, my order should have been taken with the understanding that I’d have to wait an extended period before picking up my food. Perhaps even giving them my phone number for them to call back when they are less busy. Anything other than a «no.»
I hate leaving this rating. Again, I love their food and Eddie (the bartender) is the BEST. But otherwise, I shouldn’t have to call twice only to get turned away both times (one of which was rude and not professional in the slightest).

Thanksgiving egg rolls are great comfort food! I would recommend them to anyone who enjoys that kind of bar food twist.

Awesome tap list! My meal (Mac n cheese with blackened chicken) was so so but my friend really enjoyed her flat bread. Cool atmosphere with TVs to watch the game or the agility dog show (that’s what was on while we were there and I loved it). If I lived closer, this would be one of my go to spots especially to grab a beer.

The delicious cask ale and amazing beer selection aside, the attention to detail when it comes to their food is outstanding.
Their buffalo wings. Their honey hot wings. THEIR WINGS. Addicting, crispy, flavorful, spunky, and the best I’ve ever had.
Their fries. Pick a flavor. They’re ALL delightfully flavorful and crispy and TRY THE GARLIC
MAYO FOR DIPPING. Trust me.
You literally will love every burger option on their menu. Their burgers are cooked to your liking, and if you’re an actual human being with good taste, order it rare.
Their guacamole. Their flatbreads. I mean, what place has figs and duck confit as options? THIS PLACE.
TRY the delicious, fresh, hot, big pretzel with beer cheese dip.
Their salad makings are all ordered and delivered fresh every day. GET THE SEARED AHI TUNA ON IT.
As you may have guessed by now, my boyfriend and I come here regularly, and the menu is ever-​changing, with some amazing staples. So far we’ve never been disappointed. On the contrary – this is our favorite restaurant.
Today we tried their brunch for the first time. OHMYGOD.
Get the New Yorker. Look at their Bloody Mary menu. And then look at their coffee menu. I could go on and on.
I sound like a creepy neurotic patron, but if you check my their reviews, I haven’t gone on like this with any other place.
I’m going to go to bed now, and have dreams about Olde Macgoun’s hollandaise sauce. And Ahi Tuna Burrito. And chipotle shrimp fajitas. And nuclear wings. And onion rings.

Dined here at 12÷16÷15 after reading that they would be extending their Mac Attack Wednesday’s throughout the month of December. It was a Wednesday night at a bar, so it wasn’t crowded and was very easy to accommodate a party of 7. The wait staff was very nice. I got the Mac-​acini balls and the Blue Ribbon Mac. The portions are smaller than most places when ordering mac n cheese but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t very filling. I was stuffed before finishing! Food is solid and what you would expect from a pub. I think if I were to come again it would only be for drinks — they have an nice selection of beers.

Phenomenal burger! Got the Lonestar burger topped with house made chili and cheese. Medium rare cooked perfectly. Nice casual place with great food. Large menu with something for everyone. My GF got the Big whiskey chicken sandwich. She liked it very much. An extensive beer menu as well as big screen TV’s. Sounds like a good place to me! Emily was our server. She did a fine job. Looking forward to going for brunch.

Olde Magoun’s has me returning every other week to watch football on the weekends. The menu goes beyond the average pub food. You can get amazing comforting meals such as the Sunday Roasts, but you can also get something unique like the East meets West Burger (Kimchi, Korean BBQ glaze, and pickled ginger mayo). Sound good? You bet it is. As someone who always tries to get something different every time I visit a restaurant I have been compelled to order it twice already. It can be a bit messy, so the trick is to ask for extra napkins in advance. Every other thing I have tried has been great as well, including the beer. The items are not particularly cheap, but I think they are worth it.
One of the reasons I love watching football here is because they play the games with the sound on and there are tons of TV screens. It can get packed, so if you are in a large group you might not be able to get a table unless you come early.
Service has been fine. When it is busy you might have to wait a bit to have someone come check on you, but a little patience is all you need.

I’ve been to Magoun’s multiple times and each time I go, the service is horrible. If I could give it no stars I would.
I’m personally not much of a drinker and I feel as if the servers are either all trained to ignore people who don’t order alcohol or they just suck at their job. My boyfriend kept on getting asked if he wanted another beer. While I sat there with no water and to top it off I got the wrong burger.
Word to the wise, never sit side by side at the restaurant. The servers usually neglect you.

Great beer selection! Food is typical pub food for what I got. Went on beer geek Monday and my date really liked his beer. I had a burger on an English muffin and it was good, nothing memorable about it. He had a turkey sandwich that looked messy but good. Casual atmosphere and semi-​attentive service. Nothing bad but nothing special either. Come here for the choices of beer if you’re in the Winter Hill area.

Great neighborhood spot! The short rib poutine is out of this world! Would also recommend going during Baconpalooza and trying… everything!

Well, it’s just that, a three stat jimmidy jam. Beer selection is top notch.
The food? St. Patrick’s day special — Irish pork loin — dry and lacking seasoning. Served with a white gravy. And a pile of mashed potatoes and sweet potato mash: a pile of mush.
A burger — cheeseburger one day prepared as a phenomenal plate — grilled crisp sealing in juices with good amount of salt. Bun holds the meal together well.
A different day — burger comes out 15 minutes before other two dishes and the fries are already cold. Asked to send back and keep warm I’m informed there is no heat lamp to keep it warm while the rest of the order is prepared.
Point? Very inconsistent but it’s close and open late. And the beer is good. The shots are small.

Came here for Oktoberfet and it was a 5 star experience, but I feel like I didn’t really experience olde magouns so I’m taking one off for that. I’d 110% go back. $ 6 for tickets, same for beer and food.
Great beer and pretzels. I saw them pull the pretzel out of a box, but they put it in a deep fryer which must have kept it super moist because it was. The cheese was a bad call, I’ve only see that in America. However, currywurst sauce and spicy mustard were perfect.
