Solid pizzeria with a competitive menu. Been ordering here for years and do not have anything bad to say. Great pizza, good burgers and friendly staff.

Surprisingly awesome falafel. Owner was super nice and fun to talk to while he offered to make us his super terrific special custom falafel heroes with really really good tzatziki.

Like the previous reviewer, I just had the boneless buffalo wings. Possible the best I have ever had in my life. Tender, moist, great breading and sauce. The owner was very friendly as well. Looking forward to trying some more items in the future.

Chicken tenders were homemade and delicious. Only have been here once and I can tell it will be my new favorite place. The sauce was fantastic with the tenders. And everything we got we loved. And the man/chef was incredibly friendly which I appreciate!

I ordered a medium onion and olive pizza. It took 60 minutes to arrive and when it did, it tasted like it was sitting out for hours. Cold, barely any cheese or toppings, just stale bread. AWFUL! Never ever again!

Over the past year I’ve gotten take-out from here maybe once per month. I have been disappointed nearly every time. They cannot understand«no mayonnaise». Every time I’ve ordered a sandwich I’ve asked for no mayo, and have verified that to person taking my order heard me. And only once has that request ever been successful. I won’t eat from here again.

Well since new owners food has gone down hill. They take the order but I really do not believe they write it down. It is always wrong. Food is terrible dry, sometimes greasy. I ordered a roast beef sandwich just today, with mayo and cheese and ask if they would put it on the grill for a moment or two. , because I don’t like it rare. They left it on so long it was like rubber forgot the cheese and no salt ore ppepper. You guys need to go to cooking school or hire a cook. Hope you get better real soon or I am sure you will be out of business’ soon.

Did this place recently change ownership? We use to love the pizza and the service. The family that ran the place was really nice, and they were always on top of their game. Now, whenever we order, the food is subpar and the person taking our order over the phone is super rude. Burnt pizza crust, missing ingredients, and the guy kept calling me «Honey» even after I asked him not to out of respect. Not cool! It’s a shame because this was our go-to pizza joint in the neighborhood.

I should probably wait longer than 5 minutes after eating the massive Mediterranean Calzone to post this rating… but you know what? I’m a heat of the moment kind of guy, and this joint deserves all five of the stars I’m giving it. First off, the fact that they’re right around the corner from my wife’s new apartment(she attends grad school out here… no, we’re not in an open relationship or anything. Quit letting your minds wander, you heathens) and it’s very, VERY refreshing to know that whenever I’m craving tonight’s dinner, tomorrow’s brunch, and tomorrow evening’s pre-dinner snack all-in-one…I can find it at Pizza King. Second, $ 9 for a calzone that’s as big as my head? That’s madness! I’m not encouraging them to raise their prices… but heck, I’d pay at least $ 15 for that delicious thing. Probably more. Third, you have to love a family shop. The people are nice, and they appreciate your business. Who wants to go to an overpriced chain restaurant that serves crap when you can attend a locally-owned joint for the same price? I’m coming back here, but will have to wait until after this calzone is done. Might take a few days, you guys.

Wed 3rd Aug, 20118:44pm I went to this place and ordered a large Chicken Wings. I asked how long, the guy said 5 minutes… I said I’ll stay right here! Sat just on the bench next to the counter. 20 minutes(countem’) later the other guy asked who I am… and what I ordered??, his compadre guy is clearly gone. I said«I ordered the large chicken wings» He pointed and said they’ve been right there… I see this(SAAAAAD) little bag(it looked like it had a small bag of peppermint candys in it) sitting there. I picked it up INSHOCK and asked«this is a large order of chicken wings»??? And he replied yes and laughed!!! I shot back«for $ 10.00 dollars??? He clearly could see my point(turned red and looked down) and I very nearly handed it back and said… «you keep it, you clearly couldnt spare the chicken…» I could feel my face go red(in embarrassment FORHIM) but, his arragance was sooo palpable, there wasn’t going to BE any restitution. As I left he yelled«have a nice night with a(half forced but, full of brovado sicky smile) APPALLING…

I really want this place to be good. I really do. It’s very convenient to where I work and I like the family that runs the place. But it’s just not. The pizza tastes like they froze it in the back and reheated it in the oven. I found the roast beef dry and really nothing to write home about, especially when there’s options like Kelly’s and Skampa close by. But my biggest pet peeve is the subs. In a year of ordering from this place I have yet to recieve a sub I could consider«good». Either the condiments are heaped in a pile on top of the meat, or the meat is laid above a heap of condiments– really poor distribution. The rolls are poor quality too. I keep ordering different things on the menu hoping for a different result, only to be disappointed. Is that a sign of insanity? Maybe. I’d stop eating here entirely if it weren’t for the fact that it’s a two minute walk from my workplace. Even then, when I’m on my way there, I know that a bad experience is soon at hand. Awarded one extra star because there is something that keeps me coming back– I’d look into addictive food additives.

I’m thoroughly convinced that no roast beef sandwich will ever live up to that of the now-defunct Mur-Mac’s( ), but I’m always on the lookout for a satisfying second. Roast Beef and Pizza King is within a reasonable walk from my apartment, so I gave it a try. The service was friendly, the place was clean, and Titanic was playing on the television. The roast beef was satisfying — pretty rare on a slightly crisped bun. It was leaning towards too salty, though, and had additional salt visibly sprinkled on top. The boyfriend got a gyro. His conclusion: not bad, but not amazing. No word yet on the pizza, but I’ll post an update if I try it sometime. I’d go back. But I still miss Mur-Mac’s.

Everyone has their staple pizza and sub shop in Somerville. Mine is Pizza King. They’re generally pretty cheap and unlike other places in down? Don’t do ONE thing great, and everything else«meh». Go consistency! Extra Kudos to a place that’s willing to listen to my wacky orders and make things happen even if they aren’t on the menu. My reco of the week? Order the large roast beef sub with buffalo sauce and blue cheese! I’m not sure if there is a name for this artery clogger, but its damn delicious…

Their pizza is delicious! I prefer it over Papa Johns and other chain pizza places. My fiancé ordered a calzone and it was HUGE. Subs and fries are tasty, fresh and just taste darn good. We always order from the place. The delivery guy is so nice and gets to our house quickly. When we order two larges, we get a small free. Great place.

I have passed this place probably a million times, but never set foot inside. I happened to be headed for that area around llunch time the other day and stopped in, for a sub of some kind for lunch. I ordred the pastrami sub. Which doesn’t come in various sizzes — I kind of wished it had. I also got some kind of snapple drink I’d never seen before. They had some cop show on, and a few minuters later my food was ready. I grabbed a menu, and thanked them and was on my way. The joint is too small to really want to be sitting in there eating. Plus I was afraid about my proximity to SHS and the time of day and the fact that traditionally sub shops get mobbed after school and at lunchtime. I couldn’t get all the way though my sub, it was the saltiest sub Id’ ever had. I don’t even like mayo, but had I had mayo on it it may have saved the sub from itself. Alone, it was inedible. Even with cheese and extra lettuce on it. So sad. I got home after work and it just so happened that they had leafleted our street for the first time(to my knowledge) — I kept the menu, even if the sub was bad, heres hoping that the pizza is at least good or delivered late and quickly!

Solid pizzeria pizza, as you’d expect from a place with such a regal name.(In fact, the full name of the business as specified on their delivery menu expounds on the King’s bounds even further than its business name on Unilocal — he is in fact the Roast Beef AND Pizza King.) Thin but not flimsy crust, generous use of toppings, and almost exactly the promised 30 minutes from order to delivery.(And open on sunday!) We got the pizza king supreme, a chicken pesto, and a mushroom pizza. There’s a coupon on the menu for a free small cheese with two«gourmet» pizzas, so we got one of those too. The supreme was the best, with just the right amount of assorted toppings to fill up the pie without getting greasy or falling apart. The chicken pesto was good but not great — a bit lacking in the pesto but still a tasty slice. The mushroom and cheese weren’t great — we’re talking pretty standard stuff here. My advice: stick to the«gourmet» pies and get a free cheese ‘za thrown in for that delicious pizza breakfast you know you’ll want the next morning. Nothing that’s going to blow your mind, but solid delivery that outpaces Boston City Pizza and Pini’s.

Tonight the conversation goes something like this: BF: what do you want to eat tonight? Me: a place I can have wine BF: how about Highland Kitchen Me ok After we walked over there. Turns out they aren’t open on Monday. D’Oh. That SUCKS. So we did a 360 degree turn and there was Pizza King — Under New Management. What else where we going to do? I ordered Grilled Chicken salad, BF got steak and cheese. I hated to admit it, but I liked the grilled chicken a lot. Too much iceberg lettuce tho — yuck use real lettuce. I hate iceberg. But there was so much chicken I was full off just eating the chicken. BF liked what he got — but he’s from Jersey so he’s easy to please ;-)(kidding!)

I loved this place when it was Pizza King. The crew were friendly and fast. One time I ordered a half Greek/half cheese pizza and when I showed up they had made a whole Greek pizza. They offered to make me an additional whole cheese pizza free of charge. How cool is that? Pizza King gets 5 stars. Unfortunately time passes and things change. Out of nowhere they got bought out and now they are«Roast Beef and Pizza King». I mean come on. Their pies degraded in quality, their prices went up, they screwed up my order every time I ordered from them, and they double charged me for items on several occasions. I wont go back there. Roast Beef and Pizza King gets 1 star, just for the insane amount of onion rings you get when you order a small. Other than that they get no love. Go to Double H Boston City Pizza. I love them guys.
